Several effective, nonpharmacologic alternatives exist. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) offers several tools for addressing sleep problems. Carol Furlong retired from the Elliot Health System in December of 2023 after a distinguished career in the NH healthcare system advancing the treatment of substance use disorder. She continues to consult for a number of organizations and associations to share her expertise and promote compassionate patient-centered care.
