Man I really love Dougs different accents/ voices. There is of course this opulent voice which tells the “plebians“ to get out of the way. Then there’s the tough truck guy which he makes obvious with all the arm movement. And of course who could forget the Porsche enthusiast who keeps going on about their spec and what pattern they have on their seatbelts and which color their headlight washer caps are. Just the best in the game!

@@autograndeunlimited they are not making unique cars like the Maybach 57/62. They just slap the Maybach logos on regular Mercedes-Benz cars and do some interior work and then say pay 200k+. You're better off buying a non Maybach version, save money, and still get luxury. Maybach is now only marketing material.

They don't just slap some logos they take an already very luxurious e class for example and extend its wheel base and add many luxury finishes amenities and features
Non Maybach version doesn't have anywhere near as much leg room or space or features or quality finishes or ride quality or sound insulation etc

I totally agree with you on the smoothness and awesome quality of the ride!!! I drive a 2023 EQS, and it's the quietest and smoothest ride I've ever driven.
I really wanted one of these until I saw the off-center front camera, so I decided to get a 1994 Corolla

Amazing how close this is to our EQS 580. We don’t have auto closing doors, rear massaging seats, rear screens, etc. But we love the 4-level ambient lighting, outstanding rear wheel steering, hyper screen, fragrance dispenser, ionizing air cleaner, massaging front seats, pillows front & rear, ultra smooth / quiet ride, and near 400 mile range.
Tesla needs to put some of these luxury features in the model S.

I find it interesting the Doug has been so amazed by the backup camera being integrated in the car emblem. Apparently VW didn't do a good job of showcasing this feature when they implemented it on the VW CC...in 2012.

I was able to sit in one of these at the Pittsburgh auto show last month. When I saw the wheels, I couldn’t help but chuckle because of how cheesy those wheel covers are, but this was the most comfortable car I’ve ever sat in.
I've never once wanted lace wheel covers for my car.

People talk about Cadillac pricing themselves out of the market. I rather have that beautiful Cadillac Escalade V in emerald for $150,000 or that gorgeous Escalade _IQ_ in Black Cherry for $130,000. Absolutely with no second thoughts. This looks like an electric Mercedes minivan.

Ambient lighting in Mercedes never fails to look incredibly cheap and tacky. The way they implement it in the dash and doors looks like a kit from ebay and the default pink gives off saints row vibes.
It does look extremely tacky. Since they started it the design gives off "spoiled teen girl" vibes as a car that some LA parents would buy for their daughter who has never been told no once in her life because she graduated high school.
There is nothing "upscale" or "classy" about the screens and lights. It's very tacky. The seats are nice! And I'm sure the ride is pretty good, but it ends there.
The funnier part to me is the Chrysler 300 for drivers has individual heated or cooled cup holders. So I can have a hot drink in one, and cold in the other. Not jn the Mercedes-Benz Maybach eqs of course, only hot or only cooled

Well that's how they are 99% in cars with rear screens. Though they could be a bit slimmer like in VAG cars.

Had an EQS SUV as loaner for 3 weeks. The material and build quality are far below the price it asked, and all the screens are just making the car feels cheap. An EQS interior feels like low end GLE or GLC for 2x more of the price.
You might as well live in that vehicle for that price

You nailed the review. They missed the mark on so man levels. Oddly badged and appointed. And, to make the windshield fluid access a design point is ham fisted. Personally, I wouldn't have it as a gift, but having just spent the winter in places such as Montecito and Palm Springs and LaJolla and Malibu...they'll sell a million of 'em.
Individual bluetooth headphone audio selection from car is like the new wired phone handset in the old BMW i7's Lol something that's a hilarious quirk but nobody will ever use because they already have their headphones hooked up to their phones.

Uff, 200k+ for effectively 1 cup holder in the back, but 2 buttons 3 inches from each other to open the same thing and a bunch of pillows. No fridge either

The paint quality seems like it was painted on the same production line as first lot Tesla Model 3 from 2018
Just because it has a self closing door like a Rolls Royce doesn't make it anything like Rolls.
They don't even bother putting Maybach hood ornament on the hood where it will feels expensive, instead they tag and print Maybach logo all over the car like what Chinese knock-off handbag think luxury is.
