Nice Video !!!You have noise on the 2000 cause the receiver is in wide mode when on the 7730 Khz freq test.I never use Wide on the unit its way to wide other channels bleed in and more atmospheric noise too.I have both radios and many more and to me there pretty equal the 2000 is more sensitive across all bands slightly but the strong point is the MW on the 2000 is very very good with the rotating ferrite . Also ability to actually use a outdoor antenna on the 2000 that disconnects the internal MW antenna is a huge plus. Also a great LW radio on out door antenna maybe the best portable LW/MW DXer still made even today as the eton 750.
thank you for sharing ! I live and listen to shortwave in Indianapolis Indiana USA Amazed to hear Florida USA station WRMI Have become fascinated by information window on my Sangean 909x For S-8800 curios about remote control
G'day Eric, The remote control for this radio is a must. It allows direct frequency input that isn't available on the front of the radio. As a consequence, it's wise not to lose it! I like my 8800, remarkable performance and even mw on my radio isn't too bad despite adverse comments from other reviewers. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers....... Phil
Thankyou😁 I have a small apple tree ready to harvest so I'm going to try your recipe 🙂 I also have an Asian pear tree with five varieties of pear that is a prolific producer. I'm wondering what you think of producing vinegar from Asian pears?
Thanks for the review mate! I have been looking at both these for a while, cannot make my mind up! I have been looking for a decent no bullshit review for ages. The 2 radios i want are here :-) You have sold it to me. The Am/MW from what I understand is not all that, but I want it for Sw anyway. Have you used an amp with either of these fine radios?
Actually sir you are tuning the tecsun s2000 wrongly here. You are using the wide filter mode so you should have tuned to 7725 in order to get the channel clearly and i have tecsun s2000 here so im kinda lil bit master at its tuning etc
How do you think the Tecsun S8800 compares to the Tecsun PL660? I have the PL660 and the Degen 1103 and I was wondering if it was worth it to get the S8800?
Hi Trever, I have the Degen 1103, the earlier non DSP version which is a great radio. I sold my Tecsun PL-660 as I've got the PL-680 and 880. I find the 8800 an outstanding performer on SW and FM, and comparable on MW to the others. It doesn't have Airband but if you don't listen to that band it doesn't matter. It is obviously much larger than the 1103 and 660 but again that's not an issue for me. It is expensive so perhaps you have to decide if the slightly better performance and audio warrants the extra cost. Cheers......Phil
Hi Pedro, Depending on your interests, if it's primarilly shortwave, the 8800 would be my choice. If your interest is MWDX, the 2000 would be marginally better. Both are good radios. Hope this helps. Cheers...... Phil
Ну и нудный обзор:(( На сегодня 8800 продают уже дешевле от 2000, но 2000 хуже... где логика?!!! Трещание резистора громкости в 2019 - это просто ужас.... Как на советских приемниках

Is tecsun s-2000 rechargeable radio ?
No it's not unless you install rechargeable batteries which are recharged via a seperate recharger. I just use alkaline batteries.
No dsp filters tested on S 8800
8800 - очередная dsp погремушка
