Maybe I'm weird but I really like BOTH ending themes. They evoke different feelings but both ... I don't know ... both just make me wonder what's out there in the vast, untamed, seemingly endless reaches of unknown outer space.
Yes, I noticed that too - this was the closing theme in the early episodes and IO believe it actually the same theme ... I never really got hooked to "One Step Beyond" ...

One of the greatest shows and one that got screwed over. It was top rated in its first season. The nitwit programmers decided to move it to I am nit sure Friday or Saturday night, when people especially young people go out. The show died instead if the brass moving it to original or more friendly time of the week,
Also, the second season episodes were less imaginative than the debut season. I have the entire series on DVD plus many episodes on VHS videotapes. It was also outdone by other contemporary TV series such as Lost In Space , Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea and Star Trek. The later modern TV series version of The Outer Limits was much more successful and enduring.
i think they are all Messier objects - e.g. 0.30 looks like the Sombrero Galaxy - here is the full list if you can match those few up - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_object#Messier_objects
Shows the dramatic grandure of the great series. Superb.
I've always loved the haunting melody with the haunting images of space. It always reminds me of what I missed out there during my insignificant life.
This is great too, but I prefer the first year's soundtrack. Check it out.
This show scared the crap out of me as a 9 yo boy. Watched it through my fingers with my hands over my eyes.
This theme goes well with the United Artists logo at the end.

It,s excellent and is the ultimate Outer Limits Theme !!!!!
I remember this! Great show! 😊
Always loved this series
Lubin’s closing theme similar to One step beyond..
Which Lubin also composed.

Based on Brahms' Third Symphony.
Love this the.e; it's reminiscent of ONE STEP BEYOND . But I'll also love Dominic Frontiere's first season closing more.
Wait. One Step Beyond? As in One Step Beyond by MADNESS?!
Holy smoley! I played it at 2 and HEARD the similarities between each song.
Low volume...
The Dominic Frontiere soundtrack is hands down the greatest. they removed it and less than a year later the series collapsed. BIG MISTAKE!
So exactly right. The show sucked dick after Dominic frontier left.
Oh I don't know about that, Dominic Frontier was a brilliant composer but Harry Lubin was really good Also!!!!!

It faced off against The Jackie Gleason Show in the second season. That's ultimately what doomed it.
@@TheThejayman32 You're absolutely right, and the second season is just as good as the first in my opinion and Harry Lubins music is sensational!!!!!
Much prefer the closing theme of the first season. It was awe-inspiring. This one is just sad.
It's still good, just not *as* good as Frontiere's theme.
This one is just shit
WHERE'S THE MUSIC?????? I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING! :/
For a more cheerful, upbeat version of this tune, listen to "One Step Beyond" by the ska/reggae group Madness.
Same tune, just jazzed up.
Waiting for the klezmer version
The volume on my IPhone is set so low it isn’t enjoyable!
SHALL WE...
sounds like it should be in The Godfather
