Thanks for the tour Brandon. I commented in your comparison video that we just booked the Divina for April. This will be our 2nd MSC cruise and we are already booked for Christmas on the Seascape. They don’t overwhelm you with service as does Royal but they do provide a nice experience for the price and the ships are beautiful.
UPDATE: just got home from our 3 night cruise on the Divina and that’s a one and done for us. While some of the staff were friendly and professional, we experienced some very rude and obnoxious behavior that will be a lasting impression for us. The upkeep of the common areas and bathrooms was just not there. Many rude guests on this ship as well to the extent we haven’t experienced before. Just our experience, but wasn’t a good one. Not condemning MSC totally but we have a Christmas cruise booked and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried.

I’ve just returned from my first cruise (Mediterranean) on this ship in June 2024. Really enjoyed it, great friendly staff for the most part. The only criticism was that there were a lot of people of there and it was very busy. There were some rude people who always seemed to be a certain demographic, but not going to get into who etc. the all inclusive buffet is good , but again very busy, noisy, it’s basically like a cross between a chimps tea party and a primark sale.
We ate mainly at the black crab restaurant which was part of the all inclusive deal, it was very nice and again great friendly staff.
Be careful if you get a drinks package as we and many others we met experienced issues. Eg we would order drinks which were basically being charged for when shouldn’t have been , so eventually after having to complain to the reception we eventually got it refunded. This seemed to be a very common issue.
So a few criticisms but in general it’s was great. 8/10 for me

We'll be on the Divina for a 13-night Miami, San Juan, St Maarten, Martinique, Barbados Transatlantic to Madeira in May. I like how MSC has many itineraries where you can begin and end your cruise along the way. This May cruise goes on to Casablanca, Barcelona and Genoa. We want to spend time in Madeira and so we booked to debark there. I think Divina is a gorgeous ship--it has the class of its godmother, Sophia Loren. I love the layout and decor.

That's excellent! Yes, if you want to see the world, MSC is a great line with strong itineraries! Is it easier to disembark early than in other ships? I've never done it but don't feel like RCL encourages it.

@@TheWeekendCruiser I can't speak to early disembarkation. While I have four MSC cruises booked, the only one to date I've taken was Meraviglia 7-night out of Port Canaveral. That was so early in the restart that we had only between 400-500 passengers on board. It was wonderful! 🙂 Needless to say, even with Covid testing at the port at embarkation, it was quick on and off at all the ports.

@@Hlubkoj445 yes, I found out. If you are a U.S. citizen, you only need an enhanced ID (such as the enhanced driver's license) AND a birth certificate. When you do your check-in, after purchasing the MSC cruise, their website will ask what form of ID you will be using, passport or enhanced ID. But, it doesn't mention the birth certificate, so be sure to bring it with you. Since it is a "closed loop" cruise, meaning the cruise ship leaves at one U.S. port and returns to the same U.S. port, MSC follows U.S. customs and Border patrol requirements for U.S. citizens- which are either a passport OR enhanced ID and birth certificate. This is also what other cruise lines require. I don't know why MSC representatives were so evasive with answering this.

hahah, they were enjoying Ocean Cay! I strategically time my videos to have limited folks onboard and in the video. Normally, around 11am on a popular port day is when I film the walking tours.

I don't want to watch. I like to be surprised. Make a 60 second short for me please. 😊

Haha I am the same! I don't like watching full ship tours before I board but everyone else seems to like it!

@@TheWeekendCruiser I envy the mentality that allows you to be surprised! I am the opposite. I watch and watch to be sure I don't miss a thing when going on a new ship HAHA. I am loyal to Royal so far and probably made Brandon a few bucks with my excessive viewing..HAHA We also are looking into MSC, solely for the fact its like a "buy one get one free" cruise special 24/7, compared to Royal's current pricing, which I have to admit seems high......

You Fe not alone Brad! And thank you for all the views! 🤣 And the price point right now is tough to beat on MSC. If I am watching my dollars to cruise more, it really is like a BOGO.

We just got back from a cruise on the Divina. The ship itself is fine but MSC is by far the worst cruise line operator I have ever experienced. The nickname we had for MSC was "Mostly Similar to Cuba "

Worst cruise experience on the MSC Divina I ever had on a cruise, bad and cold food and total bad service. Never again. We could not even enjoy Ocean cay. Also everything is so expensive on board like if the were a 5 star rating cruise line, your customer service? Wow, no wonder you have 2.9 reviews on Google and 1.9 on yelp

Hi Brandon! My travel agent told me the yacht club is very affordable on that particular ship. I was considering it but if I’m going to travel all the way across the country I think I’m gonna be loyal to Royal! I also heard the food isn’t that great on that ship. What’s your take on the food?❤️🛳⚓️

Hey Diane! Talked a little of the food in my comparison video. It was hit or miss honestly. Have friends that swear by the Yacht Club as the only way to cruise MSC. Do get enhanced food there too!
