UPDATE! Whislux are now bringing out a 4 season inner after my review and sending me one to test.
Great news on this NWC as im your height so need to upgrade. Any idea on leadtime yet on the 4 season inner? will it be the same as lanshan 2 as interchangeable 3 or 4 ?
@robmorris2883 it will be interchangeable but not sure on timeframes. I will announce it when it is 👍
i got the 4 season inner 3ful gear lanshan 2 with t zip it makes a change to the 3 season mesh round zips
I love the t zip version. Way more versatile 👌
Would you reccomend this tent or the Asta gear Yun Chuan 2p from last video? I've been contemplating which style tent to get, i think the offset trekking pole style has more adventages but let me know your opnion!
That's a tough one. One of the things I didn't like about the asts gear is that you can't really put it up and take it down all in one. The inner only connect to the top of the tent and not in the corners like the xmid does so you'd end up with a right mess putting it away all together. Saying that, it's probably more storm worthy as it has no solid flat sides like the lanshan style but also sits higher than the Lanshan. It's a tough one. The Lanshan is easier to pitch but not in as high winds as the Asta gear, but the asta gear wpuld probably survive better in high winds though but you'd need to guy out the top sections. I think if you could find a way to attach the inner of the asta to the outer for easy erecting and packing away it would win however you also have to seam seal it which is a pain but once done it's done. Not sure that helped you 😬
@@NoviceWildCamper Thank you that helped me forsure!
Good decision to bail.
Yeah I couldn't trust a new tent I've never tried before in those winds for sure.
Looks like a good product but at best id say two -three season. Even the lanshan 1 pro plus 4 season is draughty. Great tent weight wise but to cold for winter or windy camps. I find the inner material just too thin it lets draughts through...
They're looking at bringing out a solid inner after my review. And changing the pockets so they are out of the way. 👍
Yeah, Hopefully they will use a bit thicker material than the lanshan four season solid inner.
Looks decent…. How much are they
Obviously you didn't watch he video and too lazy to click the link and check yourself 😂
To a noob like me failed camps are just as useful as the successful ones - no information is bad information!
You need to know when it's just not worth risking it. If I had a tent I knew I'd have been out but not a new unknown one that no one has ever tried or tested before.
Ah, James from CAMPERLISTS. A true man of his word. Not... Pls don't believe a word this man says his company is about as reputable as his dodgy returns policy. The product may be good but do yourself a favour and buy from somewhere else, preferably with free returns. James isn't a man of his word and certainly doesn't treat his customers with respect. Bought the Opalus 2 from his company and the stitching/seam is all coming undone. James told me that this isn't a fault/defect and therefore won't pay for return shipping despite CAMPERLISTS doggy returns policy saying they will pay for shipping if the item is defective .Stuck with a faulty item because to exspensive to send back...
I've been involved with someone who had to return and he sorted it. You can always let me know if you've ordered through me as I won't deal with people who don't honour what I'm presenting.
Not disputing the product and love your channel and content but I bought an Opalus 2 from these jokers. CAMPERLISTS and you should see the state my brand new tent arrived in . Sent pictures of the issue to James and he claimed it was not a defect. Took out PayPal dispute who agreed it was defective and I was told to send it back however the fee to send it back was £50 Inc insurance and is more than the quote for the repair I've had. He offered me £5 and a patch!!!
The catch in their return policy is this - "If due to our reasons, the goods received are damaged or not correct, and the consumer is not required to bear the shipping fee for this reason."
"Our reasons" they say coming from a reasonable and trustworthy man...
That's not good. How long ago was this?
November 2023. Shame was my first purchase from here too. Rest of transaction price and delivery times was great.
@etztz123 if you wanna email me (in channel description) your order number I'll happily have a word. Maybe forward me the email conversation you had?
Decent looking tent that.. how much is it and who makes it?
Not a clue
I finally got to pitch mine (albeit in my garden) it’s HUGE inside. I got mine to go to the floor too. All round. But I had the same “creases” you have here. On those side guylines. There must be a way to iron them out. I’m really impressed with it though. Great seam sealing. Lots of space and 1.25 kgs (tent and inner only) it’s looking g really promising. A few tweaks but they’ll come in time. 👍
I think that if the guy lines are raised by using sticks or more poles it would work but either way I'm impressed with it still. They're bringing out the 4 season inner soon as well and hopefully change where the pockets are inside too 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper I’m a short arse so the pockets were ok for me 😂. It’s good though. And for the price too.
I reckon you made the right choice to bail out. That looked wild out there. Thanks for the review and the glimpse of the beautiful, icy land 🙂 Looking forward to the next vid old mate!
Cheers buddy. Yeah I didn't want to push it first time out. Specially when one has never even been tested or reviewed yet. Atb 👍
I guarantee that the quality of Whislux Loary 2 will be as good as Lanshan 2. They know that European users are tall. For people over 185cm+, the internal size of lanshan2 is not large enough, so they designed an enlarged version of “lanshan2”
That's what the lanshan needed. Don't know why they didn't make the 2 the same length as the 1 plus.
Thanks for the first impressions of the new tent. It's a shame you had to cancel the trip, the pictures and colors were stunning! Hopefully we'll see more of the tent in an overnight stay soon, then hopefully without any unpleasant incidents 😅. We're still looking forward to it, the tent could be a real option. Stay save!
Cheers Angie. Hopefully I'll get it out next time 👍
So... still no Lanshan with a fly that goes all the way to the ground to keep the wind out. Thanks for the vid.. informative as always.
No, I don't think any of these manufacturers will offer this like z packs etc because of the additional weight saving but also it gives better ventilation so it's a trade off. Cheers for watching 👍.
Stunning scenery, shame you had to bail.
That solid rain, is it similar to hailstones? 😁
😂 very good 👍
Good to see common sense prevailing on the bail out. Remember there are old wild campers and there are bold wild campers but there are no old bold wild campers😉
True. And an u down tent just wasn't worth it. I was really annoyed though as it was perfect weather for a camp 🙄
I like big space, other Chinese brand tents are a bit small
Yeah I struggle with them, Built for Asian Market so not really suitable for me but this ones perfect. 👍
good review of a mediocre tent..
Cheers. Why mediocre? Lanshan is one of the most popular tents on the market.
Personally I prefer the inners with a lot more solid material my kuiu mountain star is all mesh albeit finer mesh and I can certainly feel more drafts which is fine in warmer weather but in cold windy conditions it's not the best but like you say some are ok with the mesh it's just a personal thing the t zip is a lot better option and also like you say having the fly lower would be a lot better.but I will have to stop looking at tent vids my credit card is starting to get worried again I've goty eye on a cpl tents lol
😂 it's addictive isn't it! Yeah it's a shame they don't have the solid inner as thus woukd make a massive difference, especially to the uk market 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper I might have to join tents anonymous lol and why is it always the expensive 1s I like lol
That definitely looks like a one person tent. It's less that 50", so two wide pads won't fit. It's funny that they didn't give it a couple more inches to cover that, as their claim to fame here is that it's bigger than a Lanshan 2.
Regardless, it looks like it could be a good one person tent. And at least it's long enough. It still looks a little snug though, do you think you'll have room inside for your pack and gear?
I have room inside my lanshan 1 so definitely. Plus its got two vestibules so can put my pack in one and cook in the other then just my sleep system inside. Tbh I don't there are very many 2p tents that fit 2 people in. And depends on their size. I take up most of the space in there but I'm bigger than most. Regular mats are around 51cm so two would fit or one wide and one regular would work but not two large. I don't know about you but I certainly wouldn't buy a 2p tent for me and another big mate to sleep in 😂 My mrs, that would be fine.
@@NoviceWildCamper I'm a big guy too, 6'5" @ 295 lbs (195 cm @ 133 kg), so I really don't fit on a regular mat. 😂
If their goal was to be bigger, I'd have expected two wide mats to fit (even if there was no wiggle room). It's fine though, I camp alone anyways. It just seems like a missed opportunity for a bragging point.
I bought the Lanshan 1 with a T zip on your recommendation, and it's been my favorite tent so far. I just wish there was enough room to bring my gear inside, rather than leaving in the vestibule.
@umaiar yeah I shove my gear behind me in the little angled part but I'm not as big as you. I think any single camper really needs a '2p' tent to fit themselves and gear in. 3p minimum if 2 people camping.
Was that Woodbury you ended up at?
Yeah. It's the nearest bit of nice woodland to me. Gets busy though
Nice vid. 😊
Cheers buddy 👍
Safety comes first xx
Yeah I wasn't staying in an untested tent in that weather. Was such a shame though as it would have been a stunning camp. Damn you forecast 🤣
looks great
And they're now bringing out the 4 season inner so will be testing thst soon 👍
