Can you show a video on how to fix the brace on a bow tank because no where can I find the frame. Tried the sites you mentioned but was unsuccessful so can you tell me if I can use plexiglass to make a brace.
Good info, I've got an old 33 long that never had the cross brace, glass is a lot thicker than my 55s, even my 75. I believe that it's also tempered glass as well.
What are your thoughts on eurobracing? There are many videos showing people removing the top frames, including the cross braces, and replacing wit ha thicker glass piece functioning as a cross brace but just siliconed onto the top of the aquarium. I have to admit, it looks nice, but of course that's a tank that needs to last for potentially decades. Any thoughts on the long term stability of a tank that's been modified like that?
I’m so glad you came back! Love your videos brother. Very informative and helpful! Definitely helped me in my fish room! I have 20 tanks . Just started a RUclips channel as well . You’re definitely an inspiration for me in this hobby !!Keep it up!! I’m in pa as well!!

It worked out for me!! Keep doing what you do!! You ever hit up the Keystone Clash? We take the trip up for that show
Hi I hope you see this because I know this and old video. I have a 220 gallon where the bottom frame broke on one corner. Do you think it’s ok to take off and treat as a rimless and use a pad to support it? I’m having a hard time finding a replacement
55 gallon tank. removed the top brace and middle bracket.. it’s been ok-Just bowing of the tank.. I’m now regret it but 😅what’s done is done. Still holding after 5years
@@TrafishAquatics I could listen to you all day my friend mattered fact it's either on my phone always or I just display it on my big TV in my living room and even if I'm working on stuff I still listen to you lol
I have a 55 gallon tank that doesn't have a cross brace but it has plastic on it's top and bottom edges. The bottom edging is falling off though and I don't know if I need it or the cross brace. The glass on it is 1/4 inch thick and I gotta say it's much heavier than the last 55 gallon I had that had a cross brace.
I wanna get a 65 gallon, they have too frames and one cross brace...I'd leave the top frame but i would have to cut out the brace. Hate the dark spots in tank from it especially seeing they make 65 rimless tanks now with zero bracing
my daughter is trying to set up an aquarium in her classroom that is an old used aquarium that they had at the school and has not been used in years. it is a 125-gallon tank, and the weird thing is it has a top frame on it but no bottom one. she does not know if somebody removed it or if it came with no bottom frame. is that a type of tank that has no bottom frame? she has some homemade stand that goes with it I'm not really sure if this tank is safe to use or what since all anyone can say is it used to be set up half in a recess in the wall and on a stand with fish in it many years ago.
I have an older 130 gall with super thick glass and a triple stacked glass brace in the middle. And braces at the ends of the tank about 3 in wide Can i run it rimless?
I have a 90 gallon oceanic bow front with original stand... The top plastic frame is only held on by a single bead of silicone on the edge of the glass. (There is a gap on both sides all around the plastic) It did have a weak thin brace in the middle to separate the covers. Would it be ok if I removed it entirely. The bottom is braced very well and siliconed fully against the glass
Great i bought a 55 gallon($40) I think, its 48L×18inw×24h its has wood around the frame the cross bar is broke 😩 and has a 6 in section of silicon coming up i bought it for my 5 inch 2 yr old turtle i had it filled a couple iches up to see if it leaked right away but nothing after watching this im not to sure to chance it thinking of just filling it halfway
I have a much older tempered marineland 56 gallon column tank the top brace is gone but the bottom one is there. I can't seem find a frame for it 30L x 18W x 24H. Debating just "sending it" it had a small leak on the bottom left side panel just tore it down for reseal. Would you suggest euro bracing it if I can't find a plastic frame?
Online calculators say i am fine with a 5mm glass, but my tank is 35 1/2* 19 1/2 * 10" (very wide), but im not sure, i would add one big cross brace, what would you do in my case? Or Let it as a rimless one?
are 40 breeders too big to safely remove the top plastic? they dont have a cross brace but they are a big aquarium. has anyone tried this? whats the biggest tank anyone safely does this on? maybe another video detailing exactly which tanks have been successful? if there is one guy that did one 40 gal tank, ok. if there are 500 guys that did 5000 x 40 gal tanks then i can relax. a video kind of like that would be awesome. maybe tell us like above X gallons gets sketchy etc. thanks for reading my long winded post and thank you in advance if anyone comments
I actually wish my 40 breeder had a cross brace, for no other reason than I'd prefer split lids. The 3' long versa-top lid is heavy and hard to prop open without disturbing things. Split versa-tops like on the 50s and up would be so much nicer, IMO. Maybe I'll come up with something myself.
Was there originally cross bracing on the tank and it broke off or was the tank designed without the cross bracing, also is it the 5 foot 120 or the 4 foot 120
@@nhhhyhhgyy I’ve been running it for almost two months I filled it up with water and let it sit out side for a few days just in case it did go wrong .

Yep thats the older style, good quality 33 gals
Do you still have that 75 gallon
Yes I do. And still in use after 3 years
Kool I heard or read ppl said their 75 gallon cracked taking the rim off
Good informative video. Thanks.
Does the cross brace need to be supported from the bottom by the stand or just the perimeter support is good enough?
Great video...very informative, glad to see you are doing more videos again. ...thank you

I have a rimless 10 gallon tank. Will it break? I have it on wooden shelf
Where can I buy the cross brace?
Can you remove a cross brace if you are using a 75 gallon aquarium as a reptile enclosure with no water?
Can I replace top and bottom frame at same time? And can I reseal while top and bottom frame off?

Only 10" tall you should be ok
Thank you for giving correct info. I watched someone new and he wasn’t giving correct information. I know better but a lot of people don’t 🙈❤️
Good video, subscribed
would you buy a used 210 frame aquarium that the middle frame support has a small crack for $300
I would make sure i could find a replacement frame first, 210 frames are harder to get
So as long as there’s no crossbrace it’s safe to remove plastic rim on top? I did it to my 20 gallon long
Essentially yes

How often do you do water change for your 300 Gallon aquarium and how much?
50 gallons once a week currently based on feeding and stock levels
5ft x 1.5ft × 2ft.. L×B×H...12mm glass. Should we use bracing in bottom or only top center & side bracing will work good ? Plz reply me 🙏
I have the same problem with the same dimensions, did you find out the answer to your question?
When you go over 1 meter in length most if not all material will start to bow
Pretty much
Good luck 🤞
I’m gonna have to replace the top frame. I see the bottom frame is cracked too. Ugh. I hate this. 65 gallon.
I remove ALL my top frames (have never owned one over 50 gallons though).
Thanks so much for clearing up all the details!
do you think a 29 gal would be okay without a top brace? I’m very skeptical since more people do 20 or less

Then no worries 😁, if you want to add some i would do a euro brace like the older oceanic tanks had
And the other answer is I have no idea due to don't have a measuring tape
