I take it that from the time he leaves for NORAD until he comes back is just him tripping after getting hit by an IED. He never left Afghanistan in the song; he just thought he did.
Yay thanks for requesting this one. And KMAG YOYO stands for kiss my ass guys you're on your on. And here in west texas it was played on the Texas radio wrote a bit when it was new
I have the first 4 CD's that Hayes ever put out. I played them non-stop at the time, but it's been years since I've listened to them. I can probably find out what the letters mean, but don't know if it can be printed here. KMA is the first clue. These requests are really bringing back some great memories and some great songs. Thank you.
Fun song...always reminds me of my youth when I joined the USMC at 17. Being the young rebel I was, I sure got into some things...but Uncle Sam found a use for me. Working undercover in intelligence, I got some good stories to say the least. :-)
You should check out the video with Hayes and Brent Cobb playing a show together. People would say that Brent “stole” his song “Soapbox” from Hayes’ “Hard out Here” and they play them for each other on stage
I like going down rabbit holes of artists I find interesting. I've been debating on which version to send of "Drunken Poet's Dream" that Hayes wrote with Ray Wylie Hubbard. Since they both put it out.
Hayes is a lot of fun and he is very versatile.
And KMAG YOYO stands for Kiss my a** guys, you're on your own.
I'm so glad you finally did this one Don! Thank you!

Kiss My Ass Guys You're On Your On is what KMAG YOYO stands for
This whole album is amazing 🤩 Love this one too.

Go with Hayes version. Well bring me back to partying and floating the river with friends
@@jacobherricks6951 That was the first version I had heard. So I guess I'll go with that one.
I'm no expert, but my understanding is that the title is military slang for Kiss My Ass Guys - You're On Your Own
@Chris B That makes tons of sense. Thanks for filling in that piece for me.
Sorry not country , a pass for moi
@Jeff Cather Yeah, this one was definitely different, even for Hayes.
I'm with you man. Don't do nothing for me.
That's Texas country concert music
