what an excellent video!!! I'm going to be new at this. I'm 68 and will be in my 28' Class C. What a great wealth of info in this video. Thank you so much. I took a lot of notes!! (i'm in WA state) leaving soon.
Tony and Peggy, wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this episode. Really opened one’s eyes as to the plethora of job opportunities that I never knew existed for RV’ers! Very insightful.
This was an awesome video my husband and I are empty nesters thinking about starting our own RV living this inspired us sooo much !! Thank you!!!❤❤❤ both so much such great info ❤❤❤❤❤
What a great response! If you're looking for info for getting started our website has a ton of resources for just that which you can find here: www.stresslesscamping.com/rv-basics-for-stressless-camping We also do a weekly RV podcast as well. Happy camping!
Hahah - it's a roadside attraction that is part of the Bowlins network of travel stops. It's in Benson, Arizona on Highway 10. You can find a website for it here: www.bowlinsthething.com
I'm semi-retired. I work 20 hours a week as a cashier for a major fast food restaurant. I max out at 4 hours a day during the peak dining hour and would be interested in opportunities where I could see other parts of the country while enjoying the RV lifestyle. Most of the opportunities featured appear to require 40 plus hour and I'm just not up that that but I have 5 years of experience in fast food/cashiering. My store relies on me to train new employees and my specialty is customer engagement. I love interacting with my customers and do my best to insure that every customer has a top notch experience. Can anyone suggest opportunities that might be a good fit?
One of the options that intrigued me was working for Bowlin Travel Centers. My understanding is that there are opportunities in both fast food (They have Dairy Queen restaurants in their travel centers) and in the gift shop/gas stations. I have heard really good things about them as an employer/partner so that might be worth looking into.
That’s for a recap for me. I now remember another one I want to do next year. 😮😊 I camp host NOT to make a lot of money… it’s to see an area and stay FOR FREE and not think where I’m going to park/ Camp next 😮😊
This is a brilliant way to look at it! You basically get paid to stay somewhere you'd want to stay and get the local lowdown on top of that. Great reminder and thank you!
Awesome video cause I’m very much considering coming to quartzite next September and as most of us I will be looking for some kind of work to make up for the Pennie’s that we get from SS. Thanks for this information.
Remember this was shot during the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation and RV Show in January. You might use the resource to seek-out opportunities before you arrive in Quartzsite.
@@StressLessCamping ok thanks for the information I will not be looking for a job when I first get there because I will make all that I’m allowed for this year before heading out there. One thing that I see is some of the jobs was in the fall but they don’t do the big tent until January. I guess you get the job in January and go to work in the following fall. But I know some of them was different times of the year. I will definitely be checking out the big tent.
You could maybe work at Bowlin Travel Center and only work 4 or 6 hours a day. Or the Guard1 job they said you sit in your RV until someone comes to be checked in and $5,000 for 30 days!!!
@CavMom2 is correct - the gate guard job is sitting in your RV doing what you want BUT they do require that there are two humans there as it's a 24 hour stint.
Oh this could be quite the opportunity, especially if you're an RVer. You could camp in a National Park during summer or work somewhere and make summer money.
Our understanding is that they're looking for couples but we could be mistaken. What we understand is that it's a 24/7 job so they figure one person can sleep while the other manages the gate.
Some of the places that have the lower wages also include the site fees. Plus we also hope that this video will give you an idea of what's out there as these are clearly not the only places with these opportunities. Happy camping!
I'm sure there are but we're not familiar enough with immigration laws to be able to provide an answer to this. I know lots of tourism-related places love bringing in folks from other places to work in busy seasons.
I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. I would imagine that if you're working at a US-based company they would require that you have whatever you'd need for working here. But they may have accommodation for our friends from up north so I would reach out to them directly.
Wow - they don’t ask you to leave your will at the door. Lots of people find lots of great solutions and fun gadgets and great opportunities. Hopefully they don’t all have such a dim view.
Awesome information!!! Thanks so much for doing this video. 👍👍👍

The number of opportunities out there is pretty impressive and varied.
Great report. Gives me some idea.

Where is " the thing" that the Bowlin group talked about ? Intriguing.

Those are great opportunities. Too bad I have 2 big poodles who are always with me. :)

@@CavMom2 oh wow. I didn’t realize you sit in your rv! I thought you had to be in the guard gate. Thanks!
@CavMom2 is correct - the gate guard job is sitting in your RV doing what you want BUT they do require that there are two humans there as it's a 24 hour stint.
Just the info we were looking for. I subscribed so I'll be looking at what's available.
Happy to help. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Wow, great information. I'm not a work camper (yet), but looking into it. I'm a school bus driver and looking for summer work.
Oh this could be quite the opportunity, especially if you're an RVer. You could camp in a National Park during summer or work somewhere and make summer money.
Oregon is at $14.20 an hour minimum wage now. Going up again in July 2024!
Well how about jobs available at Quartzite Arizona from December through March?
There must be quite a few but we don't have a handle on where to find those. I guess contact the vendors directly?
And so as for the digicamp @ 21:22 is there a basic season we can work
It sounds like anytime you want to put in 90 days you can work??
I would reach out to them directly. A lot of these change over time.
This is OVER. The contract ends december 27th , our last day :(
On the gate gaurding do they accept solo workers do you have to be a couple
Our understanding is that they're looking for couples but we could be mistaken. What we understand is that it's a 24/7 job so they figure one person can sleep while the other manages the gate.
Do you have to be a couple to do gate guarding? I used to co-own a security company with my former husband (in CA!)
I would contact them directly. I believe the assumption is that it's a 24 hour job so someone is awake 12 hours but they would have the best answer.
@@StressLessCamping okay... thank you.
I’m not working for $10/hour and paying $125/mo for my site. Some of these places need to up their wages
Some of the places that have the lower wages also include the site fees. Plus we also hope that this video will give you an idea of what's out there as these are clearly not the only places with these opportunities. Happy camping!
OK! don't!
Work 12.5 hours for a months rent is a great deal and the pay works for me and others. We are not scraping.
Then stop whining and look for a better job. $125/ mo is a bargain.
Don’t sound bad at all!
Any chances for Aussies with experience but no green card??
I'm sure there are but we're not familiar enough with immigration laws to be able to provide an answer to this. I know lots of tourism-related places love bringing in folks from other places to work in busy seasons.
@ 12:40 i don't understand
Sorry, what don't you understand? Do you mean you can't hear him properly, or don't understand their package?
Is the work available to Canadians.
I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. I would imagine that if you're working at a US-based company they would require that you have whatever you'd need for working here. But they may have accommodation for our friends from up north so I would reach out to them directly.
I wonder If anyone pays cash only
I would be very surprised if they're any kind of business whatsoever.
300 a month.....please
Remember some of those include your camping spot (room & board) and are only part-time opportunities.
All the vendors there to suck up your money on something you don’t need and won’t use
Wow - they don’t ask you to leave your will at the door. Lots of people find lots of great solutions and fun gadgets and great opportunities. Hopefully they don’t all have such a dim view.
Tooooooo many wackos, no thank you!!
hey - we're some of those wackos! 🤣
At least there will be one less grumpy old man there since you are staying home. Yay!
Lmao. Did he really say pay of $300 a month? $300??? For $300 a month a better be working like an hour a day
I'm not sure which person you Mann, but usually all your site fees are paid, and other perks in addition to the pay.
Great info! Thank you
