The weight/mass of each side changed from etching the number inside the surface and each shape of number changes the mass/weight of the side. They are uneven not in a number sense but in a physics sense.
The design on those is excellent! It would be amazing to be able to purchase something of that quality. Also, they look pretty big. I wish they had D10s of that size and cut in that way. Wonderful work.
+Lucas Ray Yeah, they're bigger than standard d12s, 1" between flat faces. I helped a little with the design ideas, but all the actual work was done by an extremely talented buddy of mine (and a guy I paid to paint them).
+UC Gaming That's wonderful! Big dice are great. I'm very partial to casino sized D6 in a lot of games. Your buddy wouldn't happen to take commissions, would he? =D
+Kenneth Gellins It probably would be, but it would take a lot of time (my friends circumstances have changed and he doesn't have immediate access to his equipment) and a lot of money. Probably far more than anyone would be willing to pay.
I bought a set of those dice from the original Mathsgear site, and they come in a velvet bag I tie to my belt so it looks like I have a medieval bag of gold coins on me 😆 Also, you were a little disingenuous about the cost being the reason not to buy them. If you didn't have a friend to custom make those for free, along with the box for them, paying someone to do the same would be way more expensive than what I paid. What you really wanted was to be able to claim exclusivity that nobody else in the world has a set like yours, and you did.
I probably would have done this video a lot differently today, 7 years later. With that said, it was intended to be a one-off and I was super excited about it.
Really cool. If I understand the mathematics correct, d12s are not necessary, the concept would work with any dice, right? Also you could have more than 4 dice, correct?
+AndDiracisHisProphet If you google "go first dice" you'll find the analysis by the guy who created the concept. He goes in to quite a bit of detail about why 12 sides, adding more players, etc. Hope this helps!

True. But I'm not going to be testing their bias. And they look way cooler this way. Worth it.

+Lucas Ray Maybe he would, but it would be cost prohibitive for the buyer, I'm sure =)
+UC Gaming For sure. But the quality looks excellent, so I'm thinking it might be worth it!
+Lucas Ray I can ask him!
So jealous! This is awesome.
+Brittanie Boe Thanks!
that is sooo nice, good job running with that idea. im jealous
I want to buy a set just like that, case and everything. Is this possible?
+Kenneth Gellins It probably would be, but it would take a lot of time (my friends circumstances have changed and he doesn't have immediate access to his equipment) and a lot of money. Probably far more than anyone would be willing to pay.
Looks great!
+Daniel Koelsch Thanks!
