Ever since I became an adult in yorubaland, never has there been a time that the stool of olubandan has ever been in contention. However, the advent of the new rules of installing minor obas in ibadan disrupted the process. They should revert to the old way of olubadan-in-council.
Over ambitious, wait for your time., proudly Ibadan.
The reason behind his rebellion has to do with his ambition to jump queue to become Olubadan and prevent Ladoja from ascending the throne of Ibadanland. He knew that there's likelihood of the next Olubadan not lasting long. We were here when Oba Ogundipe ascended the throne he had lost his sight. We were here when Oba Kobiowu qas was to be by passed when Oba Akinyele died and High Chief Ogunsola was preferred. He should tread softly and stop his shenanigans of disrupting the ordered system of Ibadan obaship because of his self interest. He should remember that what will be, will be.

With all due respect to the high chief on his interview, non of the two sides is fair with designate Olubadan rather I see that other side is more sympathy this latter because it would be a big slam if that opportunity is not given to that family to be enthroned, once opportunity lost it is very rear to be regained. What his royal majesty was saying to let them give Oba Olakulehin rest is an indirect way to pave way for him (Oba Ajibola) to become automatic Olubadan and he wanted to avoid that if Balogun line which entitled now for the position is quickly given that chance, - and may God forbids- if the designate Olubadan demises he knows that automatically it will shift to Otun side which he himself doesn't want to happen. The high chief (Oba) wants to paint those other high chiefs black do that people would be thinking they are wicked and unkind to the designate Olubadan whereas he himself wanted to slow the process so that the opportunity will be for him when at last the king cannot make up to the task. The same thing applies to other side but still the other line is more pity than his own opinion because they want the family of Ogboriefon to taste the throne which had gone away from them over 160years ago and beside they want the struggle and patience the designate Olubadan Oba Olakulehin to go in vain without enthronement.

There's nothing wrong with what Baba has said. However, if you say he cannot recognise people then it beg the question of "mental capacity", if that is the case the next person in line that is Ladoja should be enthroned.

The traditional kingmaker has the duty to announce an Oba of a town or village. This is what the traditional rulers should fight for. The people sent to represent us in the house of assembly betrayed the people they represented by passing the law to favor the politicians so that they could control the citizen of their state without rilvary from any Oba.

Lagelu FM 96.7, you're a complete disappointment with this interview. The interviewer should have spoken Yoruba through and through. Even when Chief Abimbola was speaking and replying in Yoruba, the duo of Lgelu FM 96.7 (the interviewer), kept speaking in English. This is not right. If Chief Abimbola is accusing High Chief Ladoja of impatience, and tactics to install Chief Olakulehin at all cost, knowing that the man may soon die, and pave way for him (Ladoja) to become the next Olubadan; Chief Abimbola Ajibola's position, and juxtapositions is far more of a person who wants Chief Olakulehin to be disqualified, so that he can be the next Olubadan, being the Otun-Balogun.
