Thank you, that works very well, I like the way you can pre set the motor speed for any D.C. motor. Just like a governor

I'm not sure if you need a 10ohm resistor at the gate - this is the voltage driven device, you don't need to limit the current at the gate. The motor - the load - limits the current itself. I would add a 1Mohm resistor between the gate and the ground to keep the gate safe when you remove the source.

Great video! Just discovered the channel through your previous video. Now I am subscribed with the bell activated.

For accurate DC motor speed control, one needs to measure the current so that you can compensate for the error in the back EMF due to the inherent resistance of the windings.

motor load, Torque, is directly proportional to the current being drawn, so measure the current, compensate for IR losses and you have the speed via Back EMF.

Thank you Sir, I like this simple and clear explanation! I have question: DC motors are not brushless right? Are there any brushless DC motors with two-wire input, only a positive and negative contact?

I think such a motor as described does not exist. The DC motor needs the polarity of the electromagnetic spool to change after half a rotation. Therefore the Brushes are needed to supply the spool with current and registering the degree of rotation for changing the polarity at the correct moment.

Hi Lucid science, do you do requests? can you please make a circuit that automatically turns off a 240V hotplate cooker if a sensor detects a person has forgotten they are cooking and walked away from the cooker hotplate?
I have no experience in making circuits but want to learn how this could be done. There is currently no cheap product on the market that does this and i think it would be a great project for social good.
    kind regards

Los milagros no existen ¡Mejor compra un reloj con alarma! Otra sería ,amarrarte una cuerda de dos metros, desde la cocina encimera a la punta del pito o los co jones, verás como recuerdas enseguida del dolor que debes apagar 🤷
