Clear audio, informative and complete instructions, good video quality - AND - you're even installing the same BOSS head unit I intend to install. Wonderful video! Thanks.
For sure! main thing is to use ONLY plastic pry bars... I think I may have shown the trim removal in this video ruclips.net/video/dOa2sqUIaDM/видео.html
I just got a little 2012 Accent hatch and it's super great. I used to have a 2013 Accent sedan a few years ago, then it was totaled from a very minor wreck, sadly. But, I'm glad I got back into a Hyundai. I am doing plugs/coils this week. Tire appointment, too. Oil is changed. These are very basic cars, but I am a big fan of the simplicity and great gas mileage. Your channel has already helped a ton.
Good video. Detailed enough without going overboard. The stereo in my 2010 Accent died, and I was thinking of upgrading to something like this. This was a lot of work, and your video convinced me I do want to bother. I'll just put in another unit like my old one. Thanks for posting this.
Great video, I don’t plan on doing the reverse camera but it seemed like the wiring to the back might be exposed a little too much but none the less good vid.
Damn man nice! Loving your videos on these cars! I have a ‘14 accent I added an aftermarket alpine single din radio and a alpine equalizer and a Rockford fosgate punch 4 channel. I might do a double din like yours.
I have a 2016 Accent and looking for reverse wire and parking brake wire. A few forums each show a different location. So I'm confused on the where and the color wires I'm looking for. Thanks
unfortunately my Accent does not have steering wheel controls.... but apparently Metra makes another kit specifically for getting the SWCs to work with aftermarket radios.
Im sure it's possible.... the most important part is th install kit rather than the deck itself. Hopefully they have a dash retrofit kit to remove your stock stereo, as well as a plug and play harness to adapt to this aftermarket one
Thank you! I ended up installing it. It works great. I've found that the emergency brake (android) wire can be connected to the ground cable, and it works fine. I did not have to connect it to the emergency brake.
Good day avron I installed the same radio in my 2012 accent but my microphone doesn’t work any suggestion? I’m assuming it’s faulty but I got it new with the radio .
yes you should be able to.... the 2012 to 2017 Accents are almost exactly the same. But for one data point, this radio is now in my wife's 2014 Accent and it works perfect
So it all depends on the vehicle you have and the model of radio you plan to get. Most radio manufacturers will have "Install Kits" specific of certain vehicles as well as harness kits for the same purpose. But for our Hyundai Accents, if you want a double din style radio. the 6.75" and 7" will fit. Just one thing to note is the 7" will sit back a little recessed in, like mine in the video. 6.75" should sit flushed
You can ground the green media cable instead of connecting it to the brake and it will stay on instead of only turning on when you are on park or have the brake pressed
Leon, I wired everything and zero sound - I’m wondering if it’s because I didn’t properly ground the media wire. Could that cause the sound to not work? Or is that ground more about android gaming features?
Im sure it could!... I just traded in my 2017 Accent and kept this stereo. and it fit in perfect and identical into my wife's 2014 Accent. So I do believe the 2012 will also fall into that category
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. Even with the same exact car he has in the video. I’m wondering if I didn’t ground the media wire correctly or something???
Does the mic come with the specific aftermarket radio in the video or did you have to buy it separately. I have the same car and year model as yours and try to get everything for it but didn't read anyway of Amazon that the radio came with one.
Yup the Mic came with this specific radio. but as long as the mic has the 3.5mm connector, it will be able to fit up to this unit. So you also have plenty other options if you chose to purchase a different one.
Thank you.. So I retro fitted a Female USB adapter to fit where your current USB port is in the center console right in front of the Gear shift Knob. The one next to the AUX plug. Ill have to do a YT Short video showing you exactly what I did.
Where did you get those little harness kits that you spliced the wires into from the Boss labeled wires? I didn’t see it in the list of parts (unless I missed it)?
yup! its a 7" ... but one thing to point out is it doesn't sit exactly flush as you can see in my video... So if you want a flush look, go slightly smaller that 7" screen
I bought a generic eBay reverse camera.. go check out my description field in my "Reverse Camera Install on the Accent" and I used that same Reverse camera just connected it to the Radio instead of the Mirror mounted camera.
Im not sure, to be honest, the main question is if there's a dash kit and harness for the 2022 year. the radio is universal. its the integration kits that need to be available. Id check the Metra website for your vehicle
The whole point to make a video like this is actually to explains with details how to connect the wires? That’s the hardest part and I see how every video I’ve found just skip this step again and again. I’m frustrated. Can someone help me? 😢
Hola, tengo un Hyundai accent haschback. Que radio puedo comprarle para quitar el que viene de fabrica. Me gustaría saber las características. Muchas gracias
Yup correct this guy is the 7" trim... which if you look close, it kind of sits recessed in a little bit and not flush. But that was not a problem for me.
Clear audio, informative and complete instructions, good video quality - AND - you're even installing the same BOSS head unit I intend to install. Wonderful video! Thanks.
Glad it helped
You might show how to remove the trim for people who don't know how to do so, without damaging it haha. Great video!

Glad I could be of assistance! and yes I totally agree, these Accents are great cars!
Love this vid, it’s hard as hell to find videos on Accents cause barely anyone owns them!
Exactly! so I decided to make the vids myself! More to come! Like comment and spread the word! Trying to hit that 2K Subs!
People are sleeping on the accent, it’s a great little car.

the wiring on the back is pretty open to make it easy to add stuff. So its all just about what you want.
Damn man nice! Loving your videos on these cars! I have a ‘14 accent I added an aftermarket alpine single din radio and a alpine equalizer and a Rockford fosgate punch 4 channel. I might do a double din like yours.
Appreciate it!.. and nice! you got your sound system hooked up better than mine! bet it sounds crispy!👌
I have a 2016 Accent and looking for reverse wire and parking brake wire. A few forums each show a different location. So I'm confused on the where and the color wires I'm looking for. Thanks
Do you have more detailed video of how you mounted the external microphone and how you ran the wire?
I’m gonna try to do this with my 2015 thanks for the info man
Should be identical install for your 2015, this kit worked perfect on my wife's 2014 too
Amazing works man makes want to do this to my accent but still want to sell it lol
How did you get the radii to work (if you did) with the steering wheel functions? What cords did you connect?
unfortunately my Accent does not have steering wheel controls.... but apparently Metra makes another kit specifically for getting the SWCs to work with aftermarket radios.
Best video hands down. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
how are you liking this stereo after some time with it? any problems? does everything still work?
It’s a dumb question but can I get this for a 2019 model?
Im sure it's possible.... the most important part is th install kit rather than the deck itself. Hopefully they have a dash retrofit kit to remove your stock stereo, as well as a plug and play harness to adapt to this aftermarket one
How has the Boss unit held up? I'm about to buy one for my car soon.
Its been perfect!. its not in my wife's Accent ever since I traded my Accent in.. and it still is working flawlessly!
Thank you! I ended up installing it. It works great. I've found that the emergency brake (android) wire can be connected to the ground cable, and it works fine. I did not have to connect it to the emergency brake.
hey what kind of usb did you use to make the apple car play work?
also is the carplay wireless or wired
The radio comes with a usb plug in in the back, I just bought a extension usb
I have a 2015 anyone know the part number for the metra harness I would need by chance? Also did u lose your USB port and aux port capability
this same Metra Kit referenced in my video worked and fit on my wife's 2014 Accent, so im sure it will fit your 2015 too.
When you extend the wiring what size and kind of wire did you use?
Good day avron I installed the same radio in my 2012 accent but my microphone doesn’t work any suggestion? I’m assuming it’s faulty but I got it new with the radio .
Do you know if I’m able to install this type of radio in a 2012 Hyundai Accent?
yes you should be able to.... the 2012 to 2017 Accents are almost exactly the same. But for one data point, this radio is now in my wife's 2014 Accent and it works perfect
Did you have any problems with poor radio reception after you installed this?
Thank you!
bro how can you tell if the touch screen radio will fit? thinking of buying one but i have no idea if the thing will fit

@@EverythingAvron I have a Nissan Altima 2010. I think it's a double din as well. So it should sit flush right?
You can ground the green media cable instead of connecting it to the brake and it will stay on instead of only turning on when you are on park or have the brake pressed
Touche, thats is true!
Does that mean you don’t have to run a wire down to the ebrake at all? That would be great to not have to get down into that whole shifter/brake area.
@@ryanhumphreys1092 correct find a grounded screw connect the green cable and that's it you just avoided all that messy stuff
Oh that’s wonderful - thanks!
Leon, I wired everything and zero sound - I’m wondering if it’s because I didn’t properly ground the media wire. Could that cause the sound to not work? Or is that ground more about android gaming features?
How did you connect the USB tho 😭😭 that’s the only thing this video does explain
Great video, do you know if it can be done for a 2012 Accent? US model.
Im sure it could!... I just traded in my 2017 Accent and kept this stereo. and it fit in perfect and identical into my wife's 2014 Accent. So I do believe the 2012 will also fall into that category
Do you think 6.9" stereo could fit my 2012 hyundai accent?
Yea it should! these ones here are the 7" so I imagine it will fit almost the same!
When did you install the back up camera?
In the end of the video what green did you choose. There are like 4 green cables.
Would suggest use a test light and find which one is active when in reverse
I have a genesis coupe 2013 same harness number as yours. Installed but have no sound do you know why? matched all the codes
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. Even with the same exact car he has in the video. I’m wondering if I didn’t ground the media wire correctly or something???

@@EverythingAvron Thank you
I would love to see how you did that, please
My steering wheel controls don’t work, what did I do wrong?
Where did you get those little harness kits that you spliced the wires into from the Boss labeled wires? I didn’t see it in the list of parts (unless I missed it)?
Never mind - I see it!!!
will this all work with a 2012?
What size is the radio is your radio 7 inches?
yup! its a 7" ... but one thing to point out is it doesn't sit exactly flush as you can see in my video... So if you want a flush look, go slightly smaller that 7" screen
great info man allllll thubs up
Appreciate it!
Just picked this stereo up at my local walmart for only $100!
Great deal!!!! yea I think ill get this again on my next daily
does the radio kit come with a back up camera?
There is one version that does come with a license plate mounted back up camera. But I didn't want that one. So I bought my camera separately.
Can it integrate with steering wheel buttons ?
What reverse camera do you have?
I bought a generic eBay reverse camera.. go check out my description field in my "Reverse Camera Install on the Accent" and I used that same Reverse camera just connected it to the Radio instead of the Mirror mounted camera.
How much does it cost for all the stuff?
it was a little over $300 for everything... the most expensive thing being the radio itself
Link? For the product?
Check out the description field for the links👍
Where did the white USB cable on the harness with the red, yellow and black wire came from?
That is just another usb cable which I used to connect to the back of the Radio, there's some USB Input ports on the Radio itself.
Would stereo also work for a 2022 se
The base model

Will this work for a 2021 ?
What trim is the radio? 7inch?
Yup correct this guy is the 7" trim... which if you look close, it kind of sits recessed in a little bit and not flush. But that was not a problem for me.
