I hope somebody listened to this for the first time in a public place and said everything she told them to out loud to the confusion of the people around them
I love that if you assume that everything in Within the Wires and Alice Isn't Dead happens in the same universe as Night Vale, you can see a lot of cool links... Well done, Nightvale Team!
Monstro City they've actually confirmed that none of these stories overlap, and that there won't be any crossovers. i feel like it's safe to assume they take place separately from one another.
@@LunykStormdragon well it's fine , there doesn't have to be a big crossover , they could just take place in the same universe with the same rules , that could also have some cool advantages : you can have a cicumstance repeat itself in both series and show the difference and the similarities
I like that they play with the thin line between safety and peril, distress and relaxation in everything they do. I'm addicted already. Love their work.
What I understand from this story is that the person listening to this is in some mysterious institution and has to hear these cassettes. I am used to hearing Cecil's voice, but Janine is as creepy as him.
I actually followed along with the majority of the prompts in the audio and I feel surprisingly relaxed. It has been a very tense and stressful couple of days, and this has helped me to feel a bit better. So, thank you for that!
Now that I am caught up with Welcome to Night Vale I need to within to this, Alice isn't dead, and The Orbiting Circus. Also, after listening to this episode her voice reminds me of Cecil they are both so calm and relaxing that I just fall asleep.
I started listening to this when my mom was fighting cancer. My depression was spiraling, but the exercises here actually helped me a lot. I still listen to this episode to relax sometimes
Really creepy but at the same totally relaxing oddly enough xD A very good combination of story and actual purpose of the cassette, it reinforces a lot the feeling of integration of the spectator to the story. Can't wait for the other tapes ! :)
I love how this genuinely got recommended to me in the meditation section of the podcast page. So glad I read the comments first, I would've been so confused.
WIthin the Wires is wonderful and lovely, but I feel that a lot of my opinion on is based in previous experience and reference. For anyone who's experienced any of the Monroe Institute guided meditation pieces there's a strange dark satire from experience. Well performed, left mysterious enough for me to be interested in what makes this world tick.
This is really neat.. I thought after catching up on Night Vale and testing out Alice Isn't Dead (which I'm also hooked on) I'd eventually get worn out of these stories.. but goddamn these are all amazing. Thank you for all these great shows, I can't wait to see where they all end up! :3
Oh, just finished season one in a podcast app and is now looking at the comments in RUclips, don't mind me.... Anyways, the bug part was an odd mix of relaxing and disconcerting. Even when I was somewhat panicking in my mind at this child trapping me and and taking my wings, I was also relaxed.... Love this show
The way the speaker confirms to the listener that they are being observed and need to speak expected responces aloud is so creepy. The shoulder thing and telling them that they arent supposed to miss or even acknowledge the loss of whatever it is they miss is just ugh. Its super blatant but also weirdly subtle?
Not really, when you're talking/ listening to people from Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand her accent is really very subtle. There are American (assuming you are, else substitute the country accordingly) accents/dialects way stronger than hers. That being said, of course you can and should be annoyed by whatever you like (or don't, I guess?) :)

...wow. It's disconcerting, esoteric, eerie, yet oddly comforting. Just how I like it. Hopefully stress vomit stains won't afflict you anymore.

Within the Wires seems to be just as weird and surreal as Night Vale and Alice. Maybe even more. I really like it.
Yes, I think so
I like that they play with the thin line between safety and peril, distress and relaxation in everything they do. I'm addicted already. Love their work.
Omg, i paused right before she asked "are you where you were before" cause i had to let the cat out, and when i hit play, i freaked out a little
her words, her pronunciation...cadence and tone...💖😍...enchanting...
THIS IS ANYTHING BUT RELAXING. Expertly done.

same
oh and cecil and carlos is my otp

I did not find having my wings pulled off and being eaten by a bird remotely relaxing.
Nope. I panicked throughout almost the entire thing. Even the breathing part.
I'm still hiding under the bed... Wait, what was that? Shhhh! Ah, crap!
Now that I am caught up with Welcome to Night Vale I need to within to this, Alice isn't dead, and The Orbiting Circus.
Also, after listening to this episode her voice reminds me of Cecil they are both so calm and relaxing that I just fall asleep.
I will laugh if someone actually transfers these to cassette tapes.
... Or I might have just given Cranor ideas.
I have a cassette player I would totally buy these on tape
--END SIDE A--
I should not have followed the instructions
Ah, but you did. Wait, what?
I started listening to this when my mom was fighting cancer. My depression was spiraling, but the exercises here actually helped me a lot.

@@maryepworth mary, I love your work - I just want to say thank you
@@fockingreat1125 No, thank YOU!
I followed it like a guided meditation. side be is maybe the most empathy for nature I've ever experienced.
Got recommended this by a friend. For a moment before it got all creepy I thought it was an actual relaxation tape! So glad I was wrong.

I'm getting some Portal/Portal 2 vibes from this
for a second I worried this would be normal

13:39 I was so invested I actually had a visceral reaction to this
It was kinda scary

That's because all the stories are so different.
@@mooniebby8294 yet, the same. Shhhhh, they'll hear us.
I always fall asleep before I can get far into the episode. I use them to get to sleep.
Thank you
Who else actually followed along to the prompts? I did! XD Not disappointed.
that hurt me a little, I wonder where we are going this time.
this was oddly relaxing for me it helped me fall asleep and it actually lowered my stress oh my gosh good job guys
6.66k subscribers is what convinced me to stay
Coming back to relisten a bit as I recommend this series to a friend there is a lot of great foreshadowing done here that I didn't pick up at all
Is it weird I listen to this while I sleep?
No. We do the same.
i find it really relaxing to follow along its awesome although every time they mention the institute i get confused because of fallout
If the Dharma Initiative had a self-help series. Wait... Ben? Where's Kate?!?!

Oh JFC this is ANYTHING but relaxing! O.O
looooove this
Oh my god I love this so so so so sO SO much!! It’s poetry, and it’s so beautiful
And the fans roll in.
Wat
i fell asleep or half of this
I followed the standing prompt and I felt like I began to melt onto the floor.
welcome to your tape
I’m always late to these things. . .
this is a mind fuck
Think about Moist Yellow Cake!
I still somewhat expecting to hear Cecil after this and it is so confusing

Well creepy but I like it.
That's pretty much the motto of Jeffery and Joseph :p

Why do I feel like we can't trust her ?
Ok I'm at episode 3 and nevermind
Gonna give it one more cassette, but so far not liking it as much as alice or nightvale
This feels like a poor attempt at the sci-fi podcast Sayer.
Poor?
the quality is excellent.
Ok, except the accent is oddly annoying.
