So, to let you know about the rapper - his name is Mike Shinoda. He is one of the three founding members of Linkin Park (formerly Xero / Hybrid Theory) and the heart of the band. He's contributed lyrics and/or major parts of most of their songs and he's produces 5 out of 7 of their studio albums (with their 8th album coming out in a few days from now!) in cooperation with the band's DJ - Joe Hahn. Mike Shinoda is a singer-songwriter, multi instrumentalist, producer, artist, and an absolute legend while being the most humble, kind, and down to Earth person. FUN FACT: In the band's beginnings, before they went mainstream, a certain record label approached Linkin Park's singer Chester Bennington (who was actually the last person to join the band) and said they will offer the band a contract if they get rid of the rapper (meaning Mike). Basically they said that Mike is ruining the band's potential and they only want to work with Chester. Guess what? Chester swiftly refused the offer despite the band's desperate need to sign with a record label and they kept their integrity and friendship instead. Not so much longer after that, they had finally signed their break-through contract and released their debut album Hybrid Theory, which became the best selling debut album of the 2000s with around 30 million copies sold worldwide.

Hybrid Theory album is entirely fire and Meteora is my favourite album for sure. This is the sound that made me like them and later as the years went by they branched out to new sounds, which is ok,but to me personally it didn't hit the same way as this.
If you like Mike Shinoda his rap, i'd recommend his Fort Minor projects. The 'We Major' mixtape is very dope and contains incredible features of Lupe Fiasco, Celph Titled, Styles Of Beyond, Ghostface Killah etc.
