That was common back in those days up until the 70s that I remember. We had a band then. We only stopped if the police stopped us. It could go either way. Sometimes they took it outside and the dance continued. Sometimes not.
3:11 I could sworn Ritchie was pointing at his brother Bob. & Bob went Banana's! My favorite part. I guess he is pretty crazy acting when he's drunk. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a great performance just that he's brother had to start trouble on account he was drunk. But Ritchie Valens paved the way for Latino Rockers and now we understand what he went through.
Good afternoon my friends I was 32 yrs old when this movie came out to Lou diamond philips was great playing richie to Am still listening and loving this movie 🎥 to in July of 2024
Rosie taking off with Bob on the motorcycle was so true-to-life on my mom's side of the family. Her sister took off with a guy who loved motorcycles and fast cars one day. The only difference is that her mother was the one throwing her hat down.
Such a sad story. Terrible at the end when Bob finds out he died. The honest truth is Bob loved him so much, he would have preferred to kill Ritchie himself than see him die in a plane crash
It wasn’t at a high school dance it was at a vfw hall his mom rented for him to play, they didn’t pay for drinks back then at high school dances 😂lol or have beer 🍺
I hated this part of the movie where the joyful occasion of music, singing, and dancing stopped abruptly and turned into a wreckless fight all because of Bob
@@frankfrega1302 I believe Bob and his buddies damaged alot of the property inside the building. But you may have a point because the cost of living was "much cheaper" than it is today.
@CapricornGilbert I doubt that! The family knows how to bounce back from situations like that. And Richie found a way to make it in the music business at such a young age.
Guy has Galloping goose badge I watch movie back then first time I saw galloping goose on gangland series I didn’t know guy has that badge this movie 3:35
What the hell is wrong with her!!! Why favor one son over the other? They’re both her children and she should love and cherish just the same!!! Sure bobs made some dumb decisions but let’s not forget Connie has a hand in it too. She lied to bob for fourteen years about who his real father was,had him sent away to a boy’s home and practically neglected him, especially when Ritchie got famous. Thank god bob pushed all that aside and became a better person tho!! Otherwise Connie would’ve more than likely lost 2 sons!!!
He would not have been bigger than Elvis. Elvis was a once in a lifetime phenominon. But Ritchie Valens would have been a huge star. He was a very talented pop song writer who appealed to hispanic and white kids. Ritchie would have been big, but not bigger than Elvis. Just some guy's opinion.
@@Westhelockpicker We know. Elvis as I said was a once in a lifetime phenominon. He had looks and charisma never seen before. Valens was a good songwriter but was too ethnic at that time to have been bigger than Elvis. He didn't have the looks. Valens probably would have eventually become a writer/producer.
Elvis didn't know how to sing as great as Ritchie, and he didn't know how to act either, but he had a very handsome face, and that's why Ritchie couldn't be as famous as Elvis. Unfortunately facial appearances is the main reason, people make it, in Hollywood.
Man, Esai Morales put on a legendary performance in this movie!
Love this movie! Esai Morales is my all-time favorite actor!😊😊
He's even better in Ozark.
I love how the musicians keep playing

I loved the woman who played Ritchie's mom. She was so funny.
Ricardo Valenzuela Y TU FLYING GUITAR!!😂😂
Roseanne De Soto she was great.
Its unbelievable that Ritchie Valens was really never discoverd as much as he should have been his life was cut short at such an early age❤

Or as I like to say, Richie was shining like a star, Bob was just shining

4:14 the guy whacking that biker guy on his back with the chair reminds me of what a background character on Spongebob would do during a fight scene 😆
I love you Richie because I watch you a year ago with my dad. My dad left me.😂😢
Ritchie was awesome!😁

Pinche Bob lol
Every family has a "Bob" and if you dont know who the "Bob" in your family is, then it's probably you... You're the "Bob" in your family 😅😅😅😅😅
I'm Bob
That's true in my younger days.
I love the way they are dancing.
Bob ruined Ritchie's night but he still stand up for him

Oh my god how I love that Ritchie has Mexican roots and yet he is so loved by gringos, a true legend!!
gringos and white people like hard working mexicans not the ones that run across the border to sit on public assistance
