    Thank you so much for covering my brother Danny. Although this was very difficult to watch , all we have left for hope is media exposure. The RNC here in Newfoundland didnt give one crap about him, and only put divers and things in the water to make themselves look better!! And I may stand corrected but it may have been up to a month before they went back to the bars he visited that night. No police officer has a right to assume anything in a missing persons case, and they did for my brother. Waited a week to do ANYTHING!! Divers and searchers. Also, he went missing October 24th 2006 . Shelly Stokes the physic found his clothes in an alleyway the following spring!!!

    For some reason I just don’t believe there was a girl involved. I don’t think he was going to meet up with anyone, his friends probably made that up. One of the crew members is definitely behind this

    • @s.kaiyisah3710
      @s.kaiyisah3710 5 лет назад +23

      I was thinking the same thing , if he were going to meet a girl he would litterly tell his brother . And he call his brother and said someone make him paranoid or him make someone paranoid , and he seems upset , which could be the people he was with from the boat was making him feel that way , maybe they say something or accuse him of something . That people that say he was meeting a women that night , maybe know something more than we know .

    • @kamisa7362
      @kamisa7362 5 лет назад +31

      Finally, someone thinks exactly what I've been thinking. To me, the crew seems more obvious than any of these other theories. They're the ones who said he was meeting a woman, they're the ones in charge of the watch and mysteriously lost it, his stuff was found on the boat, and his hat and jacket were found hidden close to the boat. They probably dumped him out in the ocean.
      Also, who actually took out all that cash? And why aren't there any surveillance video's?

    • @sdotp3605
      @sdotp3605 5 лет назад +11

      See I thought this was recent, wasn't paying attention to the date of the actual crime, so I'm like hmm maybe tindr or something. But you would think if someone is ecstatic to meet either a new guy or girl he or she would tell someone at least her NAME. Breaks my heart to think about it more for the fact that he lived his whole life by the water to have possibly his life ended in water too. Prayers for the family.

    • @meganlangreck2488

      My original opinion was that maybe he was going to meet a prostitute and that is why he kept going to the strip club place. And that is why no one knows about this girl except guys who were probably into the same thing. And that it may have been something he never did before/was uncharacteristic for him.
      My next opinion was that it was a misunderstanding. Like maybe one of the guys said "Hey Danny! What are you doing tonight? Got a date?" And he said jokingly "Yeah. Gonna meet a girl right now."

  • @AttyTatty22

      I think it is them too. There is way too much forgetting happening. Plus the fact that they said he was with him but the phone call proves he wasn't. And of course the watch. I think there was probably some sort of argument which resulted in an accident and they are trying to cover it up. Poorly. Either that or the whole crew suffers from fucking amnesia.

    Danelle, this is the first time I have heard that you lost a sibling. I’m so sorry to hear that. I lost my older brother about two years ago and it hurts every day. He was up there with the best men I’ve ever known.
    His passing has taught me many things, one being how fragile life is. These videos that you produce are a reminder for me of just that. They remind me to look out for people who may not be so aware, because I don’t want anyone in the world to feel the way that I do from unexpectedly losing a loved one.

    Mentioning New Foundland made me think of "Dear Zachary" that documentary haunts me. Unfortunately, it would spoil the whole thing if you read comments or google it before watching it but it's worth it. (you can watch the full thing on youtube) I have never sobbed so hard in my life watching a movie. It is about a man killed by his ex gf, she ends up in jail, pregnant with his child and the documentary was started by the murdered man's best friend who traveled far and wide to collect stories about Andrew so his son could know who he was. It also follows the murdered man's parents quest for custody of Zachary. It's such a great documentary and the strength his parents have is mindblowing. This documentary made me want to scream and lose faith in humanity but somehow also managed to restore it. I honestly recommend this to people all over because the parents are such amazing people that I think everyone should know these amazing people exist in the world and their son's story. If anyone actually watches it, let me know if you liked it :)

      Ohh my works, Libby. After a sleepless night and scrolling through the comment section, I came upon your suggestion and looked into and found the “Dear Zachary” documentary. That right there, is a complete tragedy and heart wrenching for family and friends. What a stellar friend to have started and ended his search and interview with the people his best friend came upon in his outstanding live. I never have imagined or would imagine the shear brutality, manipulation, and wickedness some people hold in them.
      What I want to say is thank you for your recommendation and sharing his story, I am very glad to have heard about Andrew and Zachary, their family and friends and through his best friend. To never forget his legacy. I hope they are always shining light and love for their family/friends and one day they may find solace.

    I find it strange that the psychic said she had info that was “fruitful” for the case... I feel like there’s something to that... the choice of words.... is just... weird/interesting.... then... they don’t even look into the dna?!?! That’s crazy to me...
    Also keep in mind the year... 2006 ... watches were a status symbol... almost everyone wore a watch then...curious to know what kind of watch/brand it was because if someone on the boat was hard up for money for drugs etc, that would explain its sudden “disappearance” from the boat...
    I also think the idea about the $40 withdrawal for a cab makes a lot of sense- in 2006 you couldn’t just use your credit/debit card like you do now... you literally needed cash... so there’s something to that... curious to know where each of the withdrawals were/times....
    Love your content Danelle-

    • @jc-246
      @jc-246 5 лет назад

      I was wondering about the watch brand. Watches are status symbols espacially big brands and men are crazy into them. Rich or poor you want that item. There can be jealously from watches and maybe it was crew robbing him and the watch was sentimental so he wouldnt give it over so it because a challenge and the body was disposed of. The watch couldve easily went on black market.

      Yeah, if anyone other than a “psychic” had said those things they would have immediately been under a ton of suspicion and questioning from the police. This is beyond suspicious. That woman knows something about this crime and it has nothing to do with psychic abilities.

      I can't imagine someone wearing an overly expensive watch to work on a fishing boat, so I don't know how much of a "status symbol" it could've been. I can imagine someone being desperate enough to steal even a cheap one for a few extra bucks, however.

    After being nosey and looking at Google maps... I agree. It seems illogical that he would have to go by the ship supplies to get back. It seems like a long route around and I can see multiple walkway accesses that would have been easier. This is a very bizarre case.

    I’m SO glad you included the theory that the crew might be involved. It seems like that would be the easiest way to cover up foul play if multiple “witnesses” (the crew) heard him say he was going to see a woman it would be hard to suspect that many people with the same story. I definitely think the crew knows something they’re not telling authorities. Love you Danielle!!!! 💜

  • @Tawny236
    @Tawny236 5 лет назад +25

    I think someone from the crew is involved. He probably did take his wallet with him that night and whether the motive was a personal issue, money, or both, the involved crew member/members are responsible for them showing back up on the boat. It would also explain why the watch disappeared. Either some type of evidence on it or they wanted to get money for it. They would also have knowledge about sea currents and temperature. And they are the only ones corroborating the story of this mystery woman...

      Im from a huge finishing town in New Bedford Massachusetts owned a fishing boat and lost a brother in law overboard. So many factors ring true that you've mentioned here.
      I m so sorry to say that I am 99.999% sure that unfortunately Danny's will not ever be found. weather it was accidental or murder. between the fast flowing river and the ocean it flows into,
      no one would nor need to spend hours digging a grave in the frozen ground , the ocean is the only senceable place where he sadly ended up and it happens all the time, I'm sorry to say.
      These guys fight all the time!! The thing is they have no choice to
      shut up & get along or you will be fired ...if your a real good
      fisherman but a jerk (not Danny his calls are to sweet) the crew will keep you separated or on seperate watches cause you have to work together and be focused on this dangerous job. they make huge money and know to be drinkers, to say the least. when u hit the dock u go party or u go home. sounds like he nor a few guy didn't live close by so they stayed on board till the next day when they settled up and get their paychecks for the trip. ah yes, friends or not , a drunken sailor often is ready to fight. Behind the Supply house maybe?...that would be the only reason to take off your coat &hat (to fight) &/or it was overlooked after they threw him in the water or planted there &paid the psychic to lead cop off the boat away from the crew where it really happened. I think that because if you have a watch, unless it's an unlikely work watch unnecessary & in the way for fishing...u would certainly wear it out on the town and these guy don't buy cheap watches.
      all those hard working days ...no way would the guy up & leave without it.i certainly hope the family received it from the boat owner ! if it wasn't for the calls and coat I'd agree he slipped overboard taken a leak or something after he got back and it happens allot. at night in winter your pretty much gone, but in this case it has fowl play all over it. I would track those fishermen down catch em when they're drunk ,tell a similar kind of story as w stranger .maybe by this time so many years later u can catch one of them on a guilt trip, hope I filled in something as of the fishing industry in question.I lost my brother Donny the fisherman too...May God Bless Donny and Danny. YUP* the woman was a prostitute, met her at the strip-club, took her back to his boat--or got a ride--took everything out his pockets, watch off....then foul play. Not on his boat, since no DNA evidence there...
      Maybe he left his wallet/(expensive)watch on the boat, cuz he knew where he was headed(the brothel/stripclub); the large amount of $$ he took out of atm(/wherever) was to pay for the hooker. Unless it was all in ones.
      Then maybe they had 'a tryst' at that boathouse~parking lot, and: foul-play...

      I looked up this case, because of things said in this video, and the psychic is actual. She worked on at least one other case. If the mystery woman is real, she is probably a prostitute and that is why no one knows anything about her. But she is just as likely not real and part of some bs the guys made up.

      Does the psychic have a connection to someone on that boat? I dont think she was the mystery woman at all, but maybe she has a connection to whoever put those clothes there, and I believe that person was another crew member.

    I feel like him leaving his watch and wallet behind on the ship does make sense if he knew the downtown is rather sketchy. Leave as many valuables as possible at "home" and only take the necessities (credit/debit card, and later on cash).

    When you mentioned the fact that there were a lot of homeless people in the area his coat and hat were found, the first thing that popped in my head was what if Danny came across a homeless person without anything to keep them warm and he decided to give them his coat and hat. Then when they realized that the guy who gave them a hat and jacket was missing, they hid it because they were scared that they’d be connected to the crime. I also feel like the watch might’ve just been misplaced as well- heck it could’ve been a case of a crew member thinking the watch was his and it turned out to be someone else’s. I know that it’s sorta unsatisfying, but this really does feel like a tragic accident to me.
    However, I can’t discount the fact that he could’ve been killed. I guess the fact that there seems to have been no motive is what’s making me want to believe it was an accident.

    On the phone Danny said something along the lines of “we should go fishing next year” to his brother. That could have been a hint or plea for help if this “someone” had Danny call his family. He could have been hinting about something about the boat?

    Isn't it possible that his crewmates just stole/sold his watch? I like your theory but I think it's also possible that he was just blackout drunk, took his clothes off, got lost and fell in the water. Maybe he went back to the boat, then had gone back out to meet the woman?

    My questions:
    1. When he was speaking with his Brother did he sound intoxicated?
    2. If his wallet and watch were on the boat and were found by the first mate; where were they located on the boat? Discarded? In his quarters? Did the police actually check the vessel or just around it?
    3. The discarded clothes.....sounds like a red herring; how did it last behind Campbells for
    that much time (wind, weather conditions etc.)?
    4. Did they question all members of the crew? It sounds like the investigation was very lax.

    The case that haunts me that I just can't shake is of Asha Degree who went missing during an ice storm in the middle of the night. There is so much to her story that doesn't make any sense. Authorities seem to think she's still alive, but I've felt that she's dead and buried underneath a house or shed or something, and that a family member or trusted family friend is responsible. Just that initial gut feeling. It's been about 20 years and that case is one I just can't shake. Not to mention it was very close to where I was living. Somebody snuffed out that baby's life and hid her someplace that wouldn't seem an obvious place to search. But I feel strongly she's "trapped" under some sort of structure. Can't shake it. I want very much to go look for her, but I'm pretty sure that with the FBI involvement, random citizens are not supposed to be looking. I almost found the remains of the autistic boy who went missing in gastonia NC last year. It was the place my attention kept being drawn to, but before I could get back out the next day to search, they'd found him, right where I thought he'd be. And there was a woman years ago in Dallas NC who went missing walking home after her first ever shift as an exotic dancer, and before I even knew about her, my instinct kept pulling my attention to this one particular area, like, when I would even just glance in that area, the hairs on my neck stood up, and sure enough, her remains were found there. Then when that CDC worker in Atlanta went missing, I said right away, "he's in the water" - I didn't even know if there were any bodies of water nearby.... But sure as shit that is where he was recovered. I don't like having these feelings or visions (I had a nightmare about the Sandy Hook massacre 2 days before it happened - I had really hoped it was just a twisted nightmare, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. You can be skeptical of psychics, and I'd wager a good 99% of them are frauds, but there are those of us genuinely cursed to know things. Some people call it a blessing, but I disagree.

  • @jerrycleveland7177

    Maybe he took his hat and jacket off at that location because he was getting to get ready to fight someone, OR if he was drunk and couldn't walk any further, he laid down to take a short nap to sober up, then left still drunk and forgot his hat and jacket. I also thought the missing watch had blood on it and the guilty party threw it away. Also, if it was someone on the boat, he may be protected by others on the boat and the police. Small town type of situation.

    danelle for future reference, in canada we don't have $1 bills! our smallest tender is $5. most people tip strippers after a dance with $20s. as a frequent club-goer, i think danny left his wallet and watch behind because those are valuable and people often get pickpocketed at venues like this, and just bring a credit/debit card and ID. as for the rest of this case, i'm not yet finished, but the crew seems suspicious...

    Danelle, great job. This is so confusing. You are right. He could have slipped and drowned. However, how did his hat and jacket end up where it did? It is very difficult to come up with a theory on this one. For example, if he slipped and drowned, you would think his hat and jacket would have been lost with him. I would assume he would still be wearing those.

    I live in Newfoundland, about 45 minutes from George street. George street is pretty much where everyone goes as soon as they become legal, and fights break out ALL the time. They can escalate really quickly and often even result in a stabbing or someone getting really, really hurt. A lot of Newfoundlanders get very confrontational when they are intoxicated, and I think that it’s a really good possibility that something might have happened while he was down town that could have led to his disappearance.

    Danelle I completely agree with you that something does not feel right about this case! There are just too many questions to assume it’s a cut and dry accident case, esp when there’s no evidence of an accident happening. The hat and jacket in the shipyard, missing watch, strange phone call, it just doesn’t sit right with me and needs further investigation. Hopefully this video will help bring attention back to the case. All it takes is one person remembering one little thing to crack a case wide open. Thanks for doing what you do! There’s just recently been a facial reconstruction made of him, from what he was wearing it is thought he came from a family who had an above average income but there was no missing child reports. It would be great to see you cover this case and get his face out there so maybe he can be identified and get given his name back after all these years of being a John Doe x

    Theory - if he was intoxicated and meeting a girl, potentially they went into the ship yard to have intercourse. That seems like a legit reason to take your hat and jacket off to me. Then maybe as he was drunk, he forgot to gather them up when they were finished. He went back to the boat, potentially being followed by someone, who potentially knew he had cash on him. Because we don't know any details about whether the cash was in his wallet or not, its hard to say but maybe when he got back to the boat, he was attacked and the cash was taken from the wallet and the perpetrator left. Something just really sticks out about the jacket an hat to me, my gut feeling is that he left them there himself.

    Looking at that walk back to the boat, you have to wonder if someone accidentally hit him with a vehicle, and disposed of him. Snowy road conditions, drinking and driving, no sidewalks...?
    Watches are often kept for sentimental reasons. I wonder if he was close with any one on the boat.

  • @13lightening13
    @13lightening13 5 лет назад

    So I'm from Newfoundland near St. John's and I just wanted to help add to your points.
    First and perhaps most important is that though we have very few cameras around that could have seen him aside from ones in buildings, there are so many police officers patrolling downtown and so many cab drivers just sitting at all the main intersections where bar goers will be that I find it hard to believe no one saw him. Also there is a police station located downtown. Though I will add that between bars and stores there are tiny graffitied alleys that I get nervous walking through during daytime. No one would have noticed him in there, but again he'd need to pass over main streets at some point. There have been plenty of fights and some stabbings downtown but usually between people who known each other not random strangers. Also I don't know of any that weren't noticed as downtown is very small and very crowded.
    Also it is almost impossible to get close to the harbor on the downtown side due to it being fenced off with very tall iron fences. Unless you had a ship on that side of the harbor and ID you wouldn't get past security. The only area he could have fallen in is on the other side where his ship was docked but it's not likely he would have walked that distance when cabs are everywhere.
    Next the temperature, for a lot of Newfoundlanders this wouldn't be especially cold nor is it likely there was snow down, however it is newfoundland and there is honestly a possibility there was. However, as odd as it sounds, many people here quite enjoy their hats, especially if it was raining, many people only take them off to eat dinner. To think he would just take it off and leave it in a ship supply yard is quite odd. Especially when you add in that (I'm not positive it was there during that time) but most supply yards if not all of them are fenced off so people don't wander in and get hurt.
    If he did for some reason walk back, he would have been more likely to take the road as many of the smaller paths would be hard to notice unless he previously knew of them(I did not know this path you mentioned).
    Also despite what the family says about him never leaving his watch or wallet, when going downtown you never want to take anything of high value or importance. The odds of loosing it or having it stolen are too high. Regarding the money he took out, if he took it from an ATM, our ATMs only give out $20 bills so he wouldn't have had that many bills on him. And the $40 at the end was most likely for a cab, it wouldn't have cost 40 to go that far however it would likely be over 20 and again you can't take out anything smaller than a $20 bill so he needed two. There are so many cabs downtown at any given time that it would have been easy to hail one right away to take him back to the ship. Though I doubt this happened as cab drivers love to chat and would have remembered taking him across the way to his ship. So I am curious to know how the other crew members got back to the ship, did they take a cab? Was the cab driver questioned as to if he seen Danny with them in the car?
    As for the mysterious woman, I find this odd. Sure he could have met someone but unless they were really sketchy and hiding from police they would have come forward. This tiny community is one where everyone knows everything and they aren't afraid to tell you. People will do anything to help out if they can. There have been an odd number of disappearances here, many that are unsolved and have no leads. Such as Cortney Lake which I believe you might have spoke about before but I watch so many mystery and true crime youtubers I can't remember.
    To sum this up I believe Danny would have went out with only his debit card and ID, leaving his valuables safe on the ship, had some fun with his mates then went either on his own or with someone to the cotton club, heard his mates were going to eat and went with them then left to go enjoy the club a little more and finally left the club, walked down the main road until he came to the intersection nearby and got in a cab then went back to the boat and went to bed so he could catch the bus the next day. Obviously this didn't happen but this would be what I assume would be his likely plan of action. Somewhere along the way something happened. Maybe one of his crew mates convinced him not to go back to the club and to instead follow him somewhere. Maybe a stranger did the same, Newfoundlanders are so friendly we will talk to anyone and befriend them in minutes. As for there not being a lot of information that isn't too crazy, Newfoundland is such a small unknown place I'm amazed you even heard of it. We have two news channels and a paper. The likelihood of anything from here going viral is doubtful. I really appreciate you taking on this smaller case in this tiny place where we don't get a lot of publicity. I really believe your videos can help people. Keep doing what you do best. If you would like more information I would be happy to do my best to give it, I lived my whole like here but I am not a downtown person so I'm afraid I wouldn't know much about the ins and outs.

    Easy. He left the jacket at one of the bars he was at. He couldn't find it. Maybe someone took it. Realizing after this was a hot item, given the attention on the owner they dumped it, not wanting suspicion to fall on them for something they had nothing to do with. Maybe someone picked up the jacket and hat by mistake at the bar. He took it off, put the hay in the pocket. You get it 🙂

    What if ... he was slipped some drugs in a drink at the club? Followed back to the boat. Robbed and on the way out they dropped his things to make it look like he didn’t make it back. The mystery woman could’ve been there for 200 bucks and the watch ... stolen. Fisherman’s lore is to keep something valuable. Pirates had earrings to pay for burial if perished. So they could’ve kept it to honor their crew mate.

    Yes from the start of this video my mind went straight to the crew did it theory. Whether it was an accident or not idk but I think the crew definitely had something to do with it.

    Love that you did a story from Newfoundland. One quick thing though, St
    John's (with an s) isn't a small fishing town. It's the biggest city in NL. Random, but George Street has the highest amount of bars/clubs per capita in Canada.

    Danelle, professional geographer here...the river walk bridge was there in 2006. There is a 'timeline' button you can press in Google Earth that will show you old satellite imagery from the past-I can send a screenshot showing the bridge in 2006 and where the button is if you'd like. I'm a huge fan and you did a great job covering this one, as usual!

    I’m curious to know if the psychic would be willing to share more with the police since she nailed where they would find evidence... That’s pretty impressive. The only reason I can think of as to why she wouldn’t want to share any additional info is if it’s something that might be hurtful to the victims image or something that might put her in the path of danger.
    Can the family hire a private investigator or contact. Higher office to test the jacket?

    It’s pronounced new found land! Love that you cover cases from every where not just the United States or super main stream cases. Awesome content.
