Love a little coffee in my cream too. Grits with sugar were never appealing I love fixing breakfast for my hubby also. I ended up cooking for this Memorial Day. My husband is retired Air Force and I really appreciated your acknowledgment and recognition of all the service men and women who have served and serve to protect our country. It was a blessing. Kayla I really enjoyed your cooking video. I always split some of my biscuits open and add some butter inside for a good jelly biscuit. I also line a cookie sheet and bake my bacon. I just cant stand that popping lol. Cheese grits are my favorite too. I learned from an old southern cook to add a little Chalula hot sauce to my cheese grits and mac and cheese. I have never seen anyone use buttermilk in gravy before. Thats a first for me. We had a close friend who died from injuries when his hummer was blown up in Iraq. All 6 Buddies were killed when they volunteered to do a road check. His name was Richard Marshall. He was a true Hero. Did 3 tours over there. He was in one of the tanks that over took Baghdad the first time. Patriot Family here too. 🇺🇸

Yum! I agree, you have to treat yourself to great tasting food that isn't necessarily healthy every so often or life isn't worth living! Everything looked good and pretty easy to make. Not only would my kitchen have been a mess but I would have been a hot mess too! My clothes would have been filled with flour, I'd probably have some on my face and hair as well. Yummy breakfast Kayla! I don’t put sugar in my grits, just butter, salt and pepper. If I have scrambled eggs I mix them into my grits on my plate, so good! No southern breakfast is complete without the grits!

During Covid I watched videos of how to make the perfect scrambled eggs and mine are so good now!! And I don't add any liquid but put cheese in mine. Nothing like a southern breakfast!!

I have an Aunt who lives in Hartselle, AL. and whenever I was able to make it over to her house when I was young I would request her biscuits and gravy also. She was a wonderful cook like you. I don't get to eat like that up North here very often. Have a blessed memorial weekend.
If you haven’t tried the Bobs Red Mill corn Grits, you definitely should. I’m a cook grits myself gal too and never use instant and I came across the Bobs and haven’t used any other brands since. They are absolutely the best creamiest grits I’ve ever had. My grandma taught me how to make the cat head biscuits when I was about 11 years old, definitely a staple in our home. Loved this video 🫶🏻
