Why would you do it on a switch? Layer 2 doesn't understand IP addressing. Just use sub-interfaces on your router in conjuncture with your Vlan's on your switch, that way you can set a rate-limit per sub-int on computers you want connected to the appropriate vlan.
the diagram looks like its on a router, inside the network. my question is, logically speaking if i want a customer on the router to have a 6mb/6mb, then i would also need to configure rate-limit output too--right?
