28:04 I once took a ghost photo that would’ve totally been 3 stars, but because the tarot cards were in view it counted the photo as a 1 star tarot card photo 😭
I got plagued by the 2 star interaction photo bug today when I tried taking a photo of a ghost. It's very frustrating, why is an interaction a higher priority than a ghost event that shows the ghost?

Deleting photo's is a great idea. Make it part of the tier improvement.
1. Polaroid cam => You can not delete photo's because your cartridge only can take 10 photo's.
2. Digital cam => You can decide to delete photo's infinite, because it's digital. That would mean you would only have to upgrade 1 tier to get this. You could nerf is a bit by saying the sd card is small so you can delete 2 photo's max.
3. DSLR => Infinite deleting

Perfect investigation bonus should require: Ghost photo, bone photo, then variety of at least four different photo categories (Dirty water, Interaction, Fingerprint, Cursed object, Ghost writing, Disturbed salt, Footprint, Burned Crucifix, Dead body). Variety of the pictures should matter. What kind of ghost investigator takes 9x Disturbed salt photos and calls it a day?
This way, even with the option to delete failed photos, perfect investigation bonus would not be as easy as it is today. Maybe they will add more photo varieties in the future, like "Interaction" could be split in to multiple different categories. "Interaction: Knock on window", "Interaction: Throw of an item", "Interaction: Touch door", "Interaction: Flushed toilet".
Man this idea is great I really hope they add this🙏
would be nearly impossible to take bone photo on huge maps like jail and even school. maybe in those cases the reward should be multiplied according to map size?
Like I said in live chat, photo deletion doesn't have to be permanent, just a temporary solution until they can give the photo system a rework. We badly need a good change like that.
if they remove that you can take 9x salt photos, the game becomes pure torture. i hope they never remove that
Dirty water is very rare, and I remember Insym getting annoyed by not get dirty water photos few years ago.
I think having variety of photos is fine but not some specific ones , except the ghost photo, ghost photo should be the priority of every game, and that should be a primary objective,
Was doing this weeks challenge and I walked into the house only for an immediate hunt. I think oh nice quick demon round. Hide, leave ,got it right. Only to remember about the achievement after I’d gotten into the van 💀💀
Even if they dont want to add delete photos whats crazy to me is how they still havent given ghost photo highest priority in all photos.
Incentivize variety by simply implementing variety bonuses. Only change you need is: Take 5 different photos: +X dollars/xp. Take 7 different photos: +X dollars/xp. And so on. I feel like that wouldn’t be too difficult to do. And if it’s possible to fill the whole journal with different photos maybe a perfect variety bonus or something

The simplest, and probably best, solution to photos is this: don't write blank photos. It stops public lobby trolls from filling book. It stops being screwed by the host photo sync issue (we all see different images in photo) thus having the clean ghost photo not count because host did not register, and would not require an overhaul of the journal. Also blocks future problem of deleting the 'wrong' photo.
Bonus would be a dedicated slot for JUST ghost photo and allow that to overwrite with 3* if it is 1 or 2.

I wish they'd add fingerprints to plates, cans, and bottle throws.
they just need to change a perfect game to require specific photos, like bone, ghost, cursed object, and ignore the 3 star requirement. another options is to require 5 unique photos, intead of 10 3 star photos. i think there are only like 8 or so unique photos, with fingerprints being a variable, so requiring 5 would be somewhat difficult, but wont ruin your game if you get a 2 star photo
I think they should make it so that only the host can delete photos so that people cant troll by deleting photos or make it that you can ONLY delete 2 star or 1 star photos or photos with no stars, that they shouldn't allow you to remove 3 star photos, and that you cant take more than 1 type of photo so that its more difficult like the salt photo can only be taken once. And that the photos have some sort of Priority that it looks for the ghost first for example and then the other stuff so you dont take an interaction photo while trying to take the picture of the ghost
An idea for the photo system could be to make duplicate photos give significsntly less, say u get 25 per unique photo and you get bone, fingerprint, footprint (are those still seperate photos after they became 1 evidence?), Cursed possesion, ghost, interaction, salt, writing, crucifix which is 9 unique photos would give +225 and 1 dupe for +5 is 230 multiplied by difficulty (example numbers, might be too op) whereas 9 salt is gonna be 25+40 and a bone photo for 25 making 90 multiplied
Yes some photos are luck such as fingerprints and writing but they can add new photos such as broken light, candle blowout and some interactions made unique like moving door, turning on/off lights, knocking (windows/cool boxes)
And for not boosting the photo system by adding "delete the photo" just use the previous thing where you can only take 5 photos per camera soo people can't spam photos and delete them

It’d be cool if they just put the photo money in before the multiplier, that would help in incentivizing taking those riskier photos
God so much mood about the ghost photos. Getting a 2 star photo really nerfs my desire to finish objectives bc like. Ok no perfect game anymore. Gonna just head out now that I know the ghost byeee

What would be awesome I wouldn't think be too hard for the photo system is rework the stars and make the star count be item based, for example salt, candle blow out, etc be 1 star; throws, windows, doors, etc 2 star; ghost picture, interactions, cursed object, etc be 3 star. Also maybe make a perfect game 2 stars and up but that for their interpretation. Just a suggestion
Oh yah, @Insym IDK if you're still having problems with lag, but so have I, and I had to change my quality settings to Balanced. (under FidelityFX)
I have a very good computer as well, but this seemed to fix my problems until there is a possible patch update. You might be able to get away with quality setting since you're graphics card is probably a bit better, but my CPU is probably about the same as yours and so is everything else. Hopefully it works next time you play, though.

If I could add one thing to this game, I’d like to add a feature where you can use the video camera to film ghost interactions for points. It would count as a photo. This would allow people to capture photo evidence before unlocking the camera, and it would also give the camera a use besides checking for Orbs.
the photo system in phasmo will be fixed if every slot can only be reset once each round. so that you cant min max the shit out of it
For photos, they could at least have their code test for all types of photos and output the one with the highest score right?
So if a 1 star salt is found but also a 3 star ghost then obviously return the ghost photo instead.

Insym always has the best luck when it comes to bones in Phasmo xD 7/10 I have to skip the bone because it loads itself into a spot I can't find or get to. And I'm not sure I want to get started on the Ghost barely giving me anything to work with even on professional xD
For someone who plays a lot with friends, I cant explain how great it would be to be able to delete photos. We sometimes like to take pictures of ourselfs during the search so being able to delete them or just remove th cap of photos but not the cap of "bonus objectives ones" would be huge
I feel like it should only require 7 or 8 3 star photos for a perfect game. Deleting photos would be really nice as well.
edit, and yes, nerf salt photos as well. and this is coming from someone who abuses salt photos like crazy.

Honestly i almost never go for perfect games. I just play to enjoy the gameplay.
My recommendation for the easiest photo change with the best is all photos are worth the same amount, say 5$. And then add a multiplier based on the amount of different photo types. So, let's say it's 5$ x 10, so 50$ and it's 10 separate photos so another x10, so 500$.
Meanwhile, a bone and 9 salt is 50$ x 2, so only 100, and scrap the star system, maybe again, and just have the ability to delete trash photos with no use.
I got lag when leaving the truck and going outside of the house. I do not know why it always lags there, but I've accepted my fate

Can an Onryo first normally hunt and then use it's candle ability instantly to hunt again?(or like if it has already used the candle 3 times and hunted and then uses some already lit candle to hunt again instantly).
They could maybe set it up to where it prioritizes the ghost photo if there is more than one thing to photograph. Then you'd for sure get your ghost photo, and it doesn't negate the rating system.

From a game devs perspective (not this game), it's not as simple a change as you think. Adding an element that was not there is easy sure. They already have icons to use for it. Coding the new function of that button is a little work but still not to much. But the impact of this new element is the issue. New bugs it will have. Other things it could cause to have bugs is also a bit risky. Rule of thumb for game dev is for every one thing you fix you break 2 other things. Still not crazy though. The real thing that takes time is balance and accounting for how it interacts with other things. It's a co-op game so do you allow me to delete other people's photos? If not then how do you stomp me from trolling and refusing to delete bad photos. Okay then anyone can delete any photos. Again how do you stop me from deleting your good photos. Moving on, do you only allow sub 3 star photos to be deleted. Can you take a 1 star to get the ghost photo then delete it to cheese the challenge or now do they have to change what that change is (must be a 3 star) and now have to update text strings for all loc sku's (languages). Do they bring back cameras have fixed amount of pics to balance things. Then have to figure out the balance of that change with tier of cameras. Is salt now like a ghost photo so you can only take 1 pic of salt per match as a "unique" photos to balance spamming one type of photo. Do they then do that for all things. And lastly making these changes takes a lot of testing time and for console sku there is a review process to get changes to the live environment that steam games don't really have. I could go on but that expands on my perspective of this for this purpose.
My overall point here is to do it correct it isn't an hour of work. They could do it wrong in a hour. It takes time and do it correct for the bettering of the game.
Exactly this. Everyone thinks the change they want is so simple, but only because they don’t know how much goes into every change in the code. Sometimes the things that seem the smallest cause the biggest bugs. Maybe they have coded it and it caused a bunch of other issues that they’re currently trying to work out so they don’t make one good change and a bunch of bad ones.
This, it’s getting kinda insulting how thinking how minor a change “one line of code” is needed. I’m a software developer (not for this game) and this is def not true for the mechanics everyone wants

@@AlienaLives It does work well if you don't play super graphically demanding games. Definitely works better with some tweaks to the settings too. I imagine the newer model runs better as well. Phasmo runs on lowest settings at over 90 FPS so it's worth it for the portability in my eyes
@@scruffles87 My laptop runs most of my games at 30-50 fps due to its age so it sounds like the Rog Ally would be an upgrade. Thanks for the info!

@@scruffles87 I don’t remember the model name, but it’s an MSI that’s about five years old. It never lived up to its benchmarks after I bought it and I suspected an issue with the video card overheating (I never heard the dedicated fan for the card spin up, but it always got super hot to the touch). It’s still good enough, but I can’t remember the last game I played at max settings.

photo variety bonus as a multiplier of your photo money. 9 different types of photos, 9x the money! 9 salt photos, 1x the money. no punishment for the salt players and their perfect game, but more money for those taking extra risks for the variety multiplier?
casual low difficulty players could get some okay money but high difficulty pros could still get the multiplier for easier perfect game? and the true ballers get the highest with both?

The Console update is more important than any major updates for the game as it is currently. Will double their sales so any complaints on that fall on deaf ears. And for good reason.
