realloc() doesn't only work on arrays, any memory allocated using malloc() or calloc() can be resized using realloc()

As someone who prefers Java that suddenly has to build their own assembler in C, these videos are so helpful. My only question is, I thought that type casting with Malloc is bad in C, and only necessary in C++. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
