she hates the color blue and she used to associate herself with it, for example her blue hair era (that people used to love). During that time she was at her lowest and even attempted to end her life. I feel like this album it’s a journey of self discover leading to the truth she always tried to run away from, that she’s true blue. The person she hated and was scared to be it’s actually her true self. In the first track “skinny” she says “ but the old me is still me and maybe the real me, and I think she’s pretty”, meaning that looking back now, she didn’t deserve all the hate she felt for herself… just because her true nature is being blue doesn’t mean she can’t be happy and move on! At least that’s my general interpretation. Anyway sorry if I made some spelling mistakes but English isn’t my first language ahaha. Amazing reaction as always, I wish you and your wife the best❤
😭😭😭 umm I’m actually sobbing reading this while listening to skinny. Sounds too relatable. Is her being born blue abt her having depression and being in a melancholy state? Her finally discovering who she is and trying new things is beautiful. Great interpretation. I hope to learn more about myself and change. I’m just now realizing how much I’ve hated myself and assume others have a negative view on me. I hope to be where Billie is. A better place. ❤❤❤
@@kenny4900 yep!! I relate a lot, I’ve always been a very pessimistic and sad person but that’s just who I am, and even tho I’m “true blue” I can still be happy and enjoy life. I loved this album so much, I’ve been her fan since 2017 and I basically grew up with her.. so watching her becoming this amazing person is really inspiring for me❤️. Chihiro means thousand questions, wise questions, excellent, gentle, generous, and one thousand. So all of those questions that she was asking and the pondering really fit with the title. She is also representing the main character in Spirited Away (see other comments for the details ☺️)
And chihiro is also the main character of spirited away who forgots her name in case of this song billie forgets her love

basically the number at the end of diner she essentially cuts out and says she’ll call back later but if you listen to the retro automatic voicemail response it says to press any key to get updates, and so billie has already sent two texts out one was a leak for her now released song which is the extended version of the 2nd half of “L’AOUR DE MA VIE.” (THE LOVE OF MY LIFE) anyways she’s been dropping little hints and it’s rumored billie will call when the (essentially confirmed by billie at this point) 2nd album.
The meaning of "WILDFLOWER" is actually about someone (or in this case, Billie) helping their friend get over a break up but then going and dating the person that broke up with their friend and feeling so guilty about it that you cannot continue dating, its actually really sad. 😭

No matter how many times I listen to “The greatest” I keep crying. Back in October, I ended my 4 year relationship EXACTLY because I couldn’t and didn’t want to wait for change, when it was obvious it was never going to happen. I’m over the relationship and him, but I mourn and cry for the girl who got manipulated and frowned upon, from someone who supposedly loved her.🥲 I am so happy to be free, but I’m struggling a lot with the realizations I’ve come to, after the breakup. This song talks straight to my heart and soul, and will forever connect with me on a very personal level.🥲🥲

I feel like CHIHIRO is one of these songs where she poured her heart out and adressed it to the person that she was dating at that time, Jesse Rutherford, the solist of The Neighbourhood. There are some songs(chihiro, wildflower, the greatest, bittersuite, blue) in the album that are very straightforward about this relationship because Billie has never divulged the identity of the person that she was dating in her past and she had a lot at stake making public her relationship with a 31 year old when she was barely 21. Also, CHIHIRO in Japanese means a thousand questions, and the whole song is full of questions adressed to him and to the situations in general i think...anyways, to see how she overcomes this whole situation in the eyes of the whole world and makes art out of it is just incredible, I am speechless and full of admiration really. She is so young and it's ok to be wrong and to loop on the same pattern as many times as it takes to realise some things and grow. I love her soul, I don't think I've ever seen an artist as authentic as she is.

i think a thing all reactors need to keep in mind is that not every single word by an artist is autobiographical. there's often an amount of fiction. yes, you can draw a straight line from the artist to the art most of the time, but the characters and the scenes may not be 100% real. great reaction as always. you missed a few things that you would only notice if you were steeped in billie lore. no biggie.

I was so looking forward to this album reaction, as a psychology student who is a huge Billie Eilish fan! But I had to stop the video and leave because you skipped a song 😢 "Lunch".
