We lost power for about 11 hours during this ice storm. The generator ran for about 6hrs under a 75% load on about a gallon of gas. I ran the main fridge, 850 watt space heater for my son's room (it was cold that night obviously), a few lights and an LED TV. You really don't need a big generator.
