I think the only way R142A’s can run on the 5 is if we de-interlined Rogers Junction, with the 2 and 3 handing the New Lots Avenue branch (2 runs express to Crown Heights-Utica Avenue while the 3 continues on to New Lots Avenue) while the 4 and 5 run on the Nostrand Avenue branch. The 4 and 5 can interchange both R142’s and R142A’s at Brooklyn College-Flatbush Avenue while the 2 and 3 can continue using R142’s and R62’s respectively without interchanging any fleet.
I really hope we see the R142As return to the 6 line in the future. Just because the 1, 3 and 6 lines use R62 and R62A trains doesn’t mean the R262s will be solely for those lines. MysticTransit thinks that the R262s would be needed more on the express lines (2, 3, 4 and 5 lines), so those lines could receive them and then the 6 line would get the displaced R142 and R142A units from Jerome Yard and the 1 and 3 lines would get displaced R142s from the 2 and 5 lines.

A couple of months ago they had a R142 on the Broadway 3 line between 148 street Lenox terminal Manhattan and New Lots Avenue Brooklyn. Another thing to I saw the Q train having one set of the R160 . We never know when we will see a set of the R142a pop up on the Pelham 6 line fully between parkchester or Pelham Bay park not just the weekends probably on some week days on and off the Pelham 6 line. Just because they have 100,% R62AS back on the Pelham 6 line is doesn't mean nothing anymore just like the big boss said the R142a 6 train could pop up any time.

I actually think the 2 and 5 will have all R262s while 3 and 4 will use R142s and more R262s while the 1 and 6 will use R142s and R142As
