    Just snagged this at a outlet of the official AD for 300euros (which in EU is a steal trust me) The full price here would be 650euros. I own Midos, hamiltons, Zelos and this little gem blows them all out of the water. ETA, sapphire, see through back with decorated movement and rotor,100m wr,perfect legibility, whats not to love!! This is an amazing everyday piece.

    Just received the black dial/bracelet version from Jomashop, which took forever and a day, but so worth the wait. Excellent accuracy right out of the box, and a subtle nod to 1016 aesthetics with respect to the layout of the Arabic numerals and indices on the dial (not exact, but reminiscent). Certina is not such a well-known brand in the States, so the piece feels that much more special and unique. For less than $300, an absolute gem of a watch.

    I know this is an older video, but, I just now ordered this watch from Jomashop. I'll have it Thursday
    I believe it has been superseded by the newer Powermatic 80 movement that Swatch is putting in everything. I notice how smoothly yours runs. I looked for a long time to source a new one with the 2824- 2 movement like yours, and after seeing the new movement with the 21,600 beat rate, I'm glad I held out for the old school movement, as it is proven, and it moves the second hand so much more smoothly. Thanks for posting your video.

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  4 года назад +3

      Hi, I agree that the new Powermatic 80 is not necessarily an upgrade. A better power reserve at the cost of frequency will not be for everyone. I love the 2824-2, all the watches I've had with this movement have kept time perfectly.
      There is a fair bit of hate for the Swatch brand out there, but I think Certina is underated, they make some lovely watches. Enjoy your new watch and wear it in good health.

      @@g.r.7562 , No, I hadn't noticed the differences in the dial. Got mine a day early (Wednesday) and love it for what it is. Had a link taken out of the bracelet first thing yesterday morning. I don't have a pin press, and I didn't feel like hammering on the watch, so a local jeweler did it in a jiffy while I waited. So far the watch keeps good time (+1 sec when I checked this morning.) I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Cheap fun as I see it!

      @@WTMS1 I agree, my preference would be for a 2824-2 any time, and this comes from a powermatic 80 owner. A backward step in my opinion.

    What is the lug to lug length? Is the 21 mm strap a drawback not being 18 or 20mm? I change straps frequently.

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  4 года назад +1

      Lug width is 19, and yes, it's a pain. There aren't too many 19mm straps out there. Not compared to 18mm or 20mm anyway.
