In Mexico most long distance buses used Detroit’s two strokes from the late 60s to the late 80s when Scanias and Mercedes replaced them. To me this sound still brings memories of several school and long distance trips.

It's not sped up. They really did sound like that...

I do not think that the video is speeded up. Bedford TM is much lighter from US lorries hauling by this engine and accelerates equally faster.
