Prayer is a spiritual practice that is the most talked about, and perhaps the most
commonly practiced, although not as commonly as we would like to imagine.
Prayer is a discipline that acts as a catalyst for transformation in both the heart and
the mind.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER:
Prayer is one of the basic activities of the Christian life. It is interesting that the disciples
never asked - Teach us to Preach / Cast out Demons / Heal the Sick, but instead they
asked the Lord Jesus, “Teach us to Pray!” (Luke 11:1-13). I would like to talk about
the Marvel, the Mystery and the Ministry of Prayer:
PRAYING ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD:
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us,
too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the
mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly,
as I should. Colossians 4:2-4 (NIV)
The fact of the matter is, you cannot really be a growing Christian and not pray, just
like you cannot have a growing marriage if you don't talk to your spouse. Notice
