As someone who frequently listens to bladee this album outside of be nice to me, waster and side by side just isnt for me, i really like eversince, working on dying and the fool. A lot of people here mention cold visions but idk if that is the right album, id say the fool is the easiest to get into, and i would also suggest checking out really old songs like bleach, oxygen, reborn, etc. You should also keep in mind the timeframe of when these albums came out, because tbh nobody really did anything similar way back in 2013-2016

I fell like Icedancer isn't the best introduction to Bladee nowadays, it kinda aged badly compared to Eversince for example. It's still very good if you like DG but as a newcomer you can hear the 2018 in it. Imo The Fool and Cold Visions are the best introductive albums to Drain Gang followed by Ecco's E and then Crest or 333.
Tbh I never truly understood why icedancer is his most popular album when he haves so many better ones. I think the best introduction to drain gang is the “e” album by ecco2k. Also probably the best drain gang project overall
i honestly just went off his spotify, says cold visions and ice dancer were the top 2 most popular albums, i also did want to cover e by ecco since i’ve never heard an album from him
Icedancer has a lot of appeal to older (as in age) fans bc it repurposes many elements from rap subgenres of the late 2000's and early 2010's. For people who didn't grow up on that music, the appeal is not as clear bc they don't have the same experiences w/ or proximity to the aesthetics being invoked in such an odd context. I also think looking back at bladee albums always distorts the image slightly bc his music is so ahead of the time, to people listening later it's not as clear how much of the music was actually breaking barriers.
