So this was basically posted in 2014; waay before this song became a hit recently with all the cat videos. RUclips knows how to pick a good timing for recommending stuff. Instagram should learn from RUclips's algorithm
S M this song is older from I think the 1950s. By the Chordettes.
“Before this song became a hit recently” I would like to correct you that this was considered a “hit” way before tiktok and cat videos, almost everyone from the 50s / 60s knows it. When it came out it topped the charts, was played on radios WW, has numerous alternate versions to it sung and covered by different artists. The song went gold (sold 1M copies) in 1954 the same year as it was released, later on it won “The Billboard Triple Crown Award for the Best Selling Record in the Nation’s Stores”, “the Most Played Record on the Nation’s Juke Boxes”, also “the Most Played Record by the Nation’s Disc Jockeys”, the group were also inducted into the Recording Academy’s Grammy hall of fame. It inspired other newly-come artists and songs at that time as well as featured in many films decades on later. It isn’t a recently made popular single, yes it’s popularity has regained momentum due to memes but it’s already ENGRAVED in history as a hit song and it has held that title for 50+ years.

지금의 바버렛츠도 좋지만 이때의 바버렛츠가 최고였다는건 부정할수 없다ㅠㅜ 모두다 아주 다른 음색을 가지고 있어서 한명한명이 이끌어 갈수 있는 음악이 다양했고. 근데 진짜 신기했던건 그 다른 음색이 모였을때 최고의 하모니를 냈다는거임ㅠㅠ 누구 한명이 잘해서도 아니고 지금의 멤버가 못해서도 절대 아니고 그냥 이 셋의 조화가 최고였던 것같다

이걸 지금 처음 들은게 속상할 정도로 너무 좋네요
몇년 째 주기적으로 이 영상 보러 들어옵니다!! 메인과 서브역할이 물흐르듯이 바뀌며 돌아가고, 잘 받쳐주고 잘 끌어주는 이 하모니가 너무너무 좋아요 인위적인 음량조절이 아닌 많은 연습에서 나온, 서로 눈빛을 주고받으며 섬세하게 표현하는 보컬이 너무 좋아서 계속 보러오게됩니다.
중간에 자연스럽게 퍼져나가는 작은 박수 소리까지도 음악으로 들려서 항상 이 영상은 귀에 온 신경을 집중해서 듣게되는거 같아요.

Wow! Spectacular! Hard to believe the only instrumental accompaniment is nothing more than a "slap bass."
"Mr. Sandman" is a popular song written by Pat Ballard which was published in 1954 and first recorded in May of that year by Vaughn Monroe & His Orchestra and later that same year by The Chordettes and The Four Aces." But let us not forget the cover in 1981 by the trio of Dolly Parton/EmmyLou Harris/Linda Rondstadt, which I'm pretty sure inspired this version by the lovely Barbettes.
But let's face it, its lovely melody invites beautiful harmonies like this. The hard part is finding a group that can do it. The Barbettes are definitely up for the challenge!
This is a really good rendition of this song! Beautiful! I love the original recordings too and really enjoy that someone today is bringing this kind of music back.
