November 18, 2012 "When Giving Thanks Is Hard To Do" Pastor Howard-John Wesley

Scripture: Psalms 137:`1-4
In the 137th
of a Babylonian invasion. Like many Christians, they find themselves in a foreign place
where they do not feel like giving praise to God. When you reach a place where it's
hard to give God thanks, remember three things: 1) Praising God is not on demand nor
is it in denial. Authentic praise is never at the demand of someone else. 2) Praising God
is not about your place, it's about the presence of God. 3) Praise should always be in
memory of his mercy.

The only time I could see that it could be "difficult" to give thanks is when blinded, deafened, and silent due to "bad" pride. You need to be able to recognize and acknowledge when you sin, first and foremost. Then you can continue on with forgiveness and redemption. If this describes you, I have Faith you can remove that negative block of your first step of acknowledgement. If not, please contact me directly. There is NOTHING wrong with asking for help. It's what you do after that help that is the "fork" in your path. Only two options to pick. As simple as the Good path or the bad path. Even with individual Free Will, family, friends, ect, people you trust, teamwork makes the dream work.
