Being a "universal kit" could you tell us a ballpark figure on cost? Is this something that we can install ourselves or do we have to bring our boats to you? Just saw some prices from your other videos. Are you still at about $3500-$4000 after installation? I really like your product but I gotta say, at those prices it would take me about 100 weekends of use to pay it off. Now you add in "life events" (ballgames with kids, honey-do's, recitals, winter months...) and your looking at the better part of ten years I bet to break even!
Hey Jacob. The product is $3,195 and the install is $800. We plan to create a DIY install kit but it won't be for everyone because you have to lift the boat to find the center of gravity. I understand your comments about the cost. It's a lot of money but the foils are very complex to manufacture due to the size, shape, and strength requirements. But, we also feel the benefits are in-line with the cost, especially if you compare it to repowering. Hope this helps
Sorry for the delayed response. We're based near Dallas, TX but will come to you for the installation. Let us know if you're interested in learning more.
You could make front and back fins adjustable on the angle of attack by reversing the screw holding the fin to the plates and have locking nuts on the underside of the plates. You would then simply loosen the screws, change the angle of attack and retighten.
yes, the system is now available for sale but we need installers and we don't have any in your area yet. If you know of boat shops that may be interested, please email me at jason@shophydrofin.com so I can reach out to them. We just completed a series of install videos that we can send.
Always wondered why manufacturers never made bolt on hydrofoil wings that would attach to your lifting strakes between the toons of a triple. Seems like a simple design and would work even better than this large wing design on a 2 pontoon.
We just finished the design for tritoons and are getting the prototype made. Subscribe to the RUclips channel if you'd like to get video updates on the version for tritoons.
I’ve wondered as well. Having three logs in water requires a lot of hp to push them. In my opinion, a properly designed and fitted foil should get most Tritoons another 10 mph just by getting boat out of water. I’ve seen twin engine tritoons do 75 mph on 900 hp ( twin 450R Verados on a Southbay) when that kind of HP should be pushing it in the 90s.
This is genius. I hate slow party barges. I like to party at full speed!
Port and starboard
Great product! Okay
Does this product work on Tritoons?
Hey Donnie, we do have a tritoon model!
Can you still use a pontoon boat lift with HydroFin?
