I always think it’s a little weird and manipulative when the mannequins in those videos have those unnatural proportions. Obviously we’re all smart enough to realize that it’s not realistic, but I still find it a little shitty. It just gives people unrealistic expectations of what the dress will fit like, only to realize that it looks way different on a real body.
I read somwhere that actualy most of tailored clothes are made for a specific kind of body, not for everyone so that's why it is "unrealistic" for me or you, if it make sense, i can't remember who did a in dept about this but it all made sense, is like the artist just use a manquin wiht shape he/she think might fit his art, but idk about the big companies that produce in big mass, honestly human bodies are so diversified. So i think they just focus to the most popular bodies, i think. I don't think it has anything to do with realist or unrealist. No clue.
Oh Polly is actually really really popular for teenage girls / young women in England, everyone goes through the 15yr old “oh polly phase” wearing their dresses to house parties!! 😂😂 (good quality but expensive)
I've known ab ohpolly since their first few collections, the reason y theyre so popular is cuz no one else makes dresses like them, thats y they my fav. also they even invite ohpolly lovers to their fashion shows
Okay, but the second dress is one of, if not THE best dress made from a transparent skintone fabric with rhinestones that I've ever seen! It looks so beautiful and luxurious, sometimes these type of dresses can look tacky, but not this one.
I wish she would go and get a color pallete fit, it is like 280$ Mia Mapples did it, i really wonder what pallete and makeup and hairstyle they would come for Naomi, cause she kinda fit in all kind of colors
I actually think the colour was great! The only issue was it clashed a little with her hair since they’re both a silvery colour, but her hair is more cool-tone and the dress more warm-toned. If you zoom into the video so it’s just her chest down, you can see that it looks great with her skin colour.
that sleeveless purple maxi dress is just gorgeous. the rhinestones never fail to amaze me. I'm an absolute sucker for anything sparkly. I was on the FLOOR when watching you in that second dress, just breathtaking.
My sexuality is Rhynestones xD Actualy i started my youtube to make a formal suit covered in rhynestones, but i'm having troubles doing so as i hand sew them lol. The worst thing about Rhynestones is that you can't see how sparkly them are on PC, but in real life you see it good, is mostly why Diamonds are shining better than the Rhynestones.
there's a mini dress version that has a piece that goes around the neck and it's GORGEOUS in person, I wore it for my bday and the quality is amazing!!
i love the second dress, i didnt notice the seam either, If you were to find a nice slip dress to wear under it this would make a lovely red carpet look especially if you had a stole to drape over your shoulders it have a hint of classical . i dont know why but it also gives me marylin happy birthday dress vibes but with sleeves.

As a sewer here's a brief explanation of Modal. Modal or tencel (tencel is a brand name. Modal is the generic name) is part of the partially man made frabrics. In that group for context there are other fabrics like lyocell, rayon (viscose) and acetate. These fabrics are derived from the cellulose of trees and get treated with acids and chemicals to be spun into threads and woven to create fabrics. Modal is actually a type of fabric that gets stronger when wet. It's commonly used for undergarments. For example I have a set of seamless underwear made entirely of Modal. It's high quality, stretchy and resistant. Cotton on the other hand degrades faster and requires a lot of water to grow. Which is why it's not so sustainable.

Also being an “oh polly girl” has started to kinda have negative connotations too encompassing certain girls mean attitudes etc
it's normal for a brand to assume a certain set of proportions and keep the ratios consistent across sizes. that's why a brand will never fit everyone. this brand isn't for people without that set of proportions, and that's okay, because it isn't possible for a brand to fit everyone

Hi, I randomly saw your comment. About a year ago I was going through the worst episode of my anxiety disorder and came across this channel (at the time i can’t watch tv or most youtubers, vlogs, but the videos here were fun and safe). I just wanted to tell you something. Then I felt incredibly bad, I was struggling with derealization and it seemed to me that I would feel like this forever. It took a while, but now I feel much better, I'm getting excited about things again, making plans. I hope today will be easier than yesterday (and so on again and again). I think the 2 piece purple set just needed to be worn as high waist, it looked like it was sitting pretty low and would’ve been more fitting and flattering higher in the waist. Most of their clothes are meant to be worn high waist not low
you should get more teal clothes omg it looks sooo good on you, on your skin, with your eyes, with your current hair like ngl that’s now my fav color on you
Maybe they don’t to Plus Size because these type of Dresses just won’t look good in bigger sizes 🤷🏼♀️ Most of them just look good on these unrealistic body types so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the thought behind it
@@orphaxx1254who gets to decide they wouldn’t look better? seems exclusionary to me. they barely look good on naomi who’s gorgeous so maybe they’re just not good in general🤷🏾♀️
I've never commented before Naomi, despite watching your videos all the time, I feel I'm a bit out of your demographic and certainly not as fashionable as yourself and I'm sure many, many of your esteemed followers. However, I had to comment to say that this video, and really all your videos, resonate with me because you are the queen of being relatable. You are unapologetically yourself, know how to laugh and seem like you're having a good time. You're a joy to watch and follow, and you make me feel like I'm welcome. Thanks!
The sheer dress is absolutely stunning on you. I also liked the top from the oil spill outfit. Return the skirt and exchange the top for a smaller size. I think the cut is quite flattering on the girls! Gotta say, I think the purple dress was a knockout for you! You looked incredible. I love the purple with the green/blue rhinestones, and I think the whole color vibe suits you so well! The teal corset was so cute .. the bottom half of the dress just doesn't make sense. Like it was designed by two different designers. But you killed it in the corset! Naomi .. what cant you wear?! You look amazing in every style and every color of the rainbow. You're perfection, and I adore you! ❤️🔥
That oil spill outfit reminded me SO much of the clubbing outfits I wore in the late 99s / early 2000s. We were really out there wearing bits of material and string. I had a top that was just a scarf. Another top that was just ripped up fabric in a halter shape.
literally she said she wanted to see what the dresses looked like on real bodies and not a mannequin and then she had the same body type as the mannequin 😟
I love polly dresses and they fit me pretty well everywhere, but THE CHEST AREA is either too small or so drapey and large that I'm like????? There no way this fits a size 6. But most of the time it's too small in the chest, but they fit me pretty well!
All the dresses were pretty, but It's also kind of sad that they didn't fit right. But, I'm not surprised that you could still pull them off. You are just that beautiful and amazing. Also, the cow threw me off!
I learned it the hard way that sipping hot tea while watching your video is not the best idea. Lot of spillage happening with your hilarious reactions hitting me at the most unexpected moments. You are such a colorful person inside out. Effortlessly fun and GORGEOUS. Love you girl!
honestly if these dresses weren’t shown in unreal (ik for some people not because they have those body shapes) super dramatic hourglass figures then they wouldn’t get as much likes and views and people wouldn’t like them as much
as a human rectangle, I do not think these clothes are made for me... it sucks that so many brands are leaning into the unrealistic instagram body type at the sake of normal female body types. lots of women are rectangles, but I've found it so difficult to find clothes that actually recognise that. I don't have a lot up top, and my waist isn't super defined, but so many clothes are made for a very specific instagram body with a boob job and a bbl and a tiny waist. and I feel like they've just forgotten about non-surgical, non-trendy body types. I don't feel bad about my shape, I think I'm fine. but it does suck when so many items of clothing seem to think that I should have a bigger top or bottom half, or that my waist should be smaller or whatever.
As an another human rectangle, I agree with everything. It's SO annoying to wear something i find good and it just looks HORRIBLE on me. That's why i like wearing dresses, its a little bit better.
This might sound a bit weird but your body type was actually the beauty standard in the early 2000's! Just like you describe the clothes that were made back then were made to fit a specific body type, which for that era happened to be the rectangle. Seeing how trends cycle we might see the rectangle shape becoming the standard again.
@@AmlxnxI know, I was alive in the 2000s! I remember the whole "anorexia" debate, which led to people thinking I had anorexia because I was small and rectangular and then eventually led to the backlash against angular body shapes on women. I was there, I remember!
@@NiceyP0123 If it's your natural body type, then you're not the person I'm talking about. But I do think it's unlikely that you have the body I'm thinking of because it's extremely uncommon naturally in women. If a woman has bigger boobs and a bigger bum, then it's not usual for them to naturally have a tiny waist. That's because body fat in women distributes so that there's always a larger layer of fat over our abdomens than in men to protect our reproductive system/potential foetus. The unrealistic IG body doesn't have this. They have a large chest and a large bum and a tiny waist because it's been surgically enhanced further than what is naturally possible for them personally and for women in general. You may have this body type, but to the extremes I'm thinking of, it's not at all common naturally to the extent that I would say it's not possible physically for a human woman. I'm not talking about being curvy, I'm talking about Kylie Jenner/Kim Kardashian and beyond where there's no fat on their stomachs but all in their "curves". It's a manufactured body type. If you have it naturally, you are not the body type I'm talking about. I remember when the really skinny "heroin chic" body type was popular, and there was so much debate about whether the body type was achievable without an eating disorder. I had that body naturally and I felt really bad whenever someone assumed I had an eating disorder and criticised my natural body type that it actually led me (amongst other things) to becoming extremely focussed on my weight to the point of developing disordered eating. I realise now as an adult that a lot of the models probably did not naturally have that body type - they were starving themselves and probably did have issues with food and weight. The people who included me in that were being overzealous about it, but it impacted me greatly. The backlash leading to the "real women have curves" hurt even more, though. What I'm trying to say is that I know it feels bad to be included in critiques on body types, but know that I'm not talking about natural, genetic bodies. I am saying it's "unrealistic" because it *is*. The heroin chic skinny woman was unrealistic even if it was less surgically enhanced. I was not heroin chic skinny, I was just my body type. But the models who were, they were not showing their natural body types and instead promoting something that is unattainable and unrealistic for the majority of women. Just like the IG body: it's based on natural body types, but it's taken to the extremes. There are women who are naturally curvy, but not with flat stomachs and thigh gaps and perfectly perky boobs etc. but if you look at IG, this is the main body type that all the women have. It's the body type that is now seen as the goal for all women, the one that you have to undergo surgery to actually have. It's the body type that shows you're wealthy enough to have plastic surgery or that you know your angles and filters enough to fake it. The IG body isn't just curves and a small waist in isolation - it's all of it together on every IG influencer. The boob job and BBL and liposuction and Coolsculpt, etc. This is the body type that brands have started making clothes for. PLT and Oh Polly are just two of many more. If you can wear their clothes without surgery or massive alterations to the clothes, then that's great! But the majority of women can't. If a brand only sold clothes aimed at someone like me, a small rectangle, then there would be cries of a lack of inclusivity nowadays, which is good imo. But when a brand sells clothes which are exclusively aimed at a body type that is rare naturally in women and normally created by massive amounts of invasive surgeries, then it's just accepted as women's clothes now. That's my issue with this. I am genuinely sorry if I made you feel bad or left out, I really didn't mean to make you feel excluded or like I was attacking your body. I am only talking about the body that is created through extreme surgeries that is getting more and more common now, not what your genes naturally gave you
I always appreciate these videos because I worry a lot of younger women see these clothes on unrealistic mannequins and feel sad when clothes come in the mail and don't fit the same way. I'm also tired of seeing clothes on these weird mannequins that look like a drawing of a woman rather than a human being.
Girl your hips do NOT lie, have never lied, and wouldn’t even have to swear on a bible in a court of law because no judge or jury would ever doubt their not-lyingness
"synthetic modal is better for the environment than natural cotton" guurl no. I don't know what those wholesalers and distributors were telling you but this is not correct. It doesn't matter how much water cotton takes to grow, the chemical manufacturing process for modal is horrible. Anything synthetic is always worse than a natural alternative, anything. Modal is of course cheaper to make and easier to make in factory settings, so that's why the garment industry pushes for it. It's all fast fashion, it's all trash, and it all pollutes.

you should get more teal clothes omg it looks sooo good on you, on your skin, with your eyes, with your current hair like ngl that’s now my fav color on you
The TRESH is forever iconic 😍‼️
Naomi calls me Tresh sience 2017-18
FACTS ‼️‼️‼️
The TRESH is what made me subscribe. 😊
oh Polly is really big in the UK for a more special party dress like for your birthday. I've always hated they don't do plus sizes
I'm a.. MAN and my stupid butt thought she meant my Little Pony which here in my city they had something named Polly, lol.
literally was just about to comment this😂
Maybe they don’t to Plus Size because these type of Dresses just won’t look good in bigger sizes 🤷🏼♀️ Most of them just look good on these unrealistic body types so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the thought behind it
@@orphaxx1254who gets to decide they wouldn’t look better? seems exclusionary to me. they barely look good on naomi who’s gorgeous so maybe they’re just not good in general🤷🏾♀️
@@orphaxx1254most if not all of these dressed would look good on plus size. U just gotta have the attitude to pull them off
the sequin tests were to die for 😍😍 you look so amazing in all the dresses
Oh Polly was pretty popular within the UK way before tiktok
Also in Germany😂
Yeah i bought a dress aaaages ago and every outfit slaps.
@@leak.4295I live in Germany and I never heard of it 💀
literally have dresses from 5 years ago 😂
@@Ohmygh0st dann folgst wahrscheinlich anderen Leuten bei Insta/RUclips. Ich kenne es zb von Adorable Caro 😅
The blue colour looks STUNNING on you Naomi!
Ugh the purple dress is just gorgeous! I actually really like the color combo
Thanks!
This comment deserves to be pinned.. ❣️
Did you breathe when you were writing ?
shut up @@Mynameisstfu00
@@Mynameisstfu00Of course silly, that’s what comas are used for…
I always love your reviews because you actually buy enough product that we can really get a feel for the website
Another top that was just ripped up fabric in a halter shape.
honestly the chain mail skirt and top is really pretty on you
That purple dress is EVERYTHING Naomi!!
That first dress was actually pretty and it went really well with your hair.
why is nobody talking about the HOLOGRAPHIC HAIR ❣️❣️ that’s such a badass idea
naomi's makeup always slays so it can match with any outfit
Girl the first dress literally matches your hair it looked so good on you ❤😍
You will never know why i got so many likes
literally she said she wanted to see what the dresses looked like on real bodies and not a mannequin and then she had the same body type as the mannequin 😟
I love polly dresses and they fit me pretty well everywhere, but THE CHEST AREA is either too small or so drapey and large that I'm like????? There no way this fits a size 6. But most of the time it's too small in the chest, but they fit me pretty well!
11:38 that sudden Blood, Sweat & Tears moment had me rolling. 💜💜😭 YOU ARE STUNNING IN THAT DRESS TOO!
Last dress is 1000/10!
The blue dress actually looked stunning on your Naomi 🥰 the color brought out your eyes 🤌🏻✨
All the dresses were pretty, but It's also kind of sad that they didn't fit right. But, I'm not surprised that you could still pull them off. You are just that beautiful and amazing. Also, the cow threw me off!
The sleevless purple dress was stunning, I think I looked really flattering on you!
The intro was amazing. EVERYONE APPRECIATE IT!!!!
Rhinestone dresses by far my favorite dress that you’ve ever tried on.
i would loveeeee that blue corset dress! Its gorgeous! 🩵🥦

The teal medieval dress were such a vibe 💙
we love Naomi being so transparent and caring about her audience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem with you trying on these clothes is the fact that they are gonna look good no matter what cause your confidence
That first dress is gorgeous!!! the colour! 😍
I learned it the hard way that sipping hot tea while watching your video is not the best idea. Lot of spillage happening with your hilarious reactions hitting me at the most unexpected moments. You are such a colorful person inside out. Effortlessly fun and GORGEOUS. Love you girl!
No the two piece chainmail thing looks SO good
The last dress was absolutely gorgeous , would love to have that one
11:02 i think i‘m in love like literally those scenes had me rolling on the floor
That last dress is absolutely gorgeous on you!
honestly if these dresses weren’t shown in unreal (ik for some people not because they have those body shapes) super dramatic hourglass figures then they wouldn’t get as much likes and views and people wouldn’t like them as much
So glad u decided to keep the see through rhinestone dress, that suited u soooo well!😍
Tbh I'd love the oil spill fit, the duochromoe is so pretty
as a human rectangle, I do not think these clothes are made for me...
it sucks that so many brands are leaning into the unrealistic instagram body type at the sake of normal female body types. lots of women are rectangles, but I've found it so difficult to find clothes that actually recognise that.
As a person with this body type naturally, please stop calling it an unrealistic IG body 🥺
It’s just uncommon ❤
I am only talking about the body that is created through extreme surgeries that is getting more and more common now, not what your genes naturally gave you
The second dress is absolutely stunning! Since you’re keeping it, I would want the last purple one :) your body is banging girl!!!
Noami you are literally my favorite RUclipsr. Your humor is unmatched
I always appreciate these videos because I worry a lot of younger women see these clothes on unrealistic mannequins and feel sad when clothes come in the mail and don't fit the same way. I'm also tired of seeing clothes on these weird mannequins that look like a drawing of a woman rather than a human being.
i loved the first dress🥰🥰
I think the blue corset dress would’ve worked and been cute if it was the right size!!!
Ditto
Naomi your hair looks sooooo good, the length suits you so much. It grew so fast!
I loved the intro so much
i loved the teal dress!! and the rhinestone see through one loked so pretty honestly
it is so nice to have pear shaped youtuber. human barbie, i appreciate you.
Girl your hips do NOT lie, have never lied, and wouldn’t even have to swear on a bible in a court of law because no judge or jury would ever doubt their not-lyingness
that first dress actually looks so good on you tho :> you could always just add a bunch of jewellery to jazz it up
"synthetic modal is better for the environment than natural cotton" guurl no.
Plus natural will disgrade when disposed off, synthetic won’t
She starts trying clothes on at 6:40
Someone doesn’t have an attention span 🙏
The last dress was breathtaking but also i really liked the first one the color was very unique ❤❤
I think the beige dress at 10:26 would look so cute with something black underneath. Not like a black slip but something similar to the cutout of black shape wear or a one piece bathing suit, strapless!
the oil slick set I can definitely see you in that top with different bottoms !!
That second dress HOLY it’s so gorgeous, the way it’s like the perfect type of nude with the rhinestones and OMG IT LOOKED GORGEOUS ON YOU!
That purple gold one is such pretty fabric I can turn that into something amazing 😻
no matter how ugly the dress is it looks soooo freaking good on you 😩🥰
When she sat down the second time with the see through diamond dress had me wheezing 😆😆 love you naomi
I loved all the extra little "video bits", e.g. the second Naomi that took over or the outro. Lovely surprise!🎉😘
i’m obsessed with how many one piece sound effects you edit into your videos
i actually think the heart dress looked really cute on you! i feel lke it hugged you in all the right places. you could wear an extra cropped white long sleeve or extra cropped white cardigan over it!
You're gorgeous in all of them, the beige rhinestone dress looks absolutely stunning on you. I also think the heart boob one is super cute. My choice that I think would suit me would be actually the boob heart or maybe the first one
The little walks you gave us to show us the dresses was a chef's kiss ❤💋 Naomi you look always so stunning and your make up was so good too💖
im RUNNING for that metallic mini dress!!!! whole time looked STUNNING on you!!
The ‘Isabeau’ dress is sooo pretty and sparkly🌼✨. I even saw it on the website but wasn’t brave enough to actually buy ittttt. I would’ve woren it to my Birthday Party 🥺 Thank u naomi for reviewing the website ❤️❤️
i love how the two-piece wraps around your body
the purple dress actually slays
the two piece oil spill was surprisingly my favourite. it would be amazing for a festival i think
ok the 4th top is gorgeous on you the “oil slick” goes so well with your rainbow bangs ahhh you should totally wear that as a top in another video
the teal dress color looks soooo good on Naomi
You should try more pieces from them they have so many different options & of course some of them are not for everyone I have bought a lot of stuff from them & a few I have given to friends because they weren’t for me but most of their stuff is pretty good quality & pretty, cute, or sexy ! Most of the ones you got are harder to nail because we all have different dimensions
I can't believe it. Every time you said it wasn't as good as you thought or that you didn't like something I absolutely loved it 😩💖
I think the first dress would look so bomb on darker skin 😍
I need her to do a makeup recommendations /fav products video bc her makeup looks amazing while the rhinestone test
I’ve always love oh Polly, really good quality and one of the few brands that actually are true to their size. They’re not loose fitting at all. Love them for sure and CSB as well ❤
Okay I finished the video, the last dress is gorgeous but also giving that fish from shark tale, I love it even more xx
I love the purple sparkly dress. It's a very loud and bold look but it's still very pretty
