I want you to live, even if I'm not there to hold you. I would take away all your sorrow and loneliness if I could, but know that I am always with you, no matter the distance. My love for you is unwavering, and I will always be close, even when I'm far away. I love you, Owen, and our family more than words can express.
Thats what I adore most about Lacey's music, she doesnt make Christianity seem like a fairytale, or like all your troubles and sorrows disappear once you take that leap, I have such great love and respect for her for telling the truth about our faith, it's very tough to be a Christian
My dad committed suicide last year.... My brother showed me this song and I seriously fell in love with it immediately, my brother looked at me and said, "This has dad written all over it"... R.I.P Daddy
+TheDragons12 that make me little hurt when the song said I'm dying but when the song said Will u help me see the light for one more day I feel warm in my heart This is why I really love this song
"Will you help me, because I'm dying to be something more than a memory". My favorite line. Gets me every time right to the heart. I'm not suicidal- quite the opposite, I'm terrified of dying, not because of what comes after, but because I don't want my work here to be cut short. I want to live a life with meaning, that really does something that matters, and I don't want it taken away from me. Just goes to show how songs like these speak to more than just one group's problems.
I just want to say, you still be suicidal and to be afraid of dying to me it all depends on you hate yourself and how numb you become because/to this world, so really doesn't say much to me when someone says ("I'm afraid of dying") but it is a good thing that your not suicidal.
It is truly amazing to see the transformation in Lacey. I knew her well. Sat right next to her in honors english in Mississippi. She was a truly tortured soul. She wore it on her face everyday. Every day you saw her, you were just thankful last night wasn't the night she would take her life. I'm so glad she found the Lord. Then years later, I did as well. That's how I found out she was in flyleaf, thru my own journey. Overjoys my heart
@The Anon on the Internet not sure if that is a r/whooosh. They did not show they didn't understand the joke but made a joke in return. So you should instead r/whooosh yourself as it went over your head and not anyone else.
Today was one of the worst struggles with suicide I have had in a long time. As I got back in my truck to leave the store I came under what I can only describe as a demonic attack, urging me to end my life. I turned on my Pandora and this was the first song to play. I just sat there and listened. As a veteran, it can be hard; but my God is bigger. You guys are awesome. Thanks for the music.
Brother please dont do this...I dont know what happened to you, only God knows... But He wants me to tell you that He loves you, and He is in control, believe in Him, repent and give all your pain to Him, He will heal you because you are already healed in the Name of Jesus♥️ Ive been there, I almost killed myself years ago, but God saved me from the misery I was drowning in.Eternity in hell is not worth it... don't take your life, because what is on Earth is temporary, remember we have a mission, Im waiting to see you in Heaven one day! :)
@@toughcookie7501 No worries. I texted my Christian brothers and fellow veterans and my mom and asked them to all start praying over me. I had a nice little chit chat with God and got a little choked up. I know He carried me through it. Like I said, this incident was a straight up demonic attack. About a day later, my mom called me and told me about once of the ladies she goes to church with who is also a veteran and reported that the woman she knows also had an attack of this nature the same day. God will never give me more than He knows I can handle, and for everything else, I turn to and rely on God to see me through.
I'm not even a Christian, and I love bands like, We as Human, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Skillet. I think you can interpret the music however you want. Even if it is through Christ or not.
Definitely. It's up to the listener to interpret. I consider myself a Christian but I hate it when people ask me who my favorite band is and if they don't recognize it I say it's Christian and it's an immediate turn off for them. Glad there's people like you who can spread the word that artists who happen to be labeled Christian can make GOOD MUSIC. Thanks
JediJeter02 I think a lot of it is a perception that Christian rock, or Christian music in general, can be overbearing on the spiritual or religious message. I adore this song for how it balances those elements...not overburdening, so free to interpret.
tacticalplanner Yeah, because all they hear is the praise and worship. Even tobyMac, my favorite singer, has a lot of songs that mention God but then he has a bunch that are just for support or fun. I've been looking into We As Human and I'm really liking them!
Same here Jackie. I may have left Christianity behind a long time ago, but my favorite band of all time is and will always be Five Iron Frenzy. I just love Ska, and add to that total goofball antics and geek influence it just becomes the perfect mix for me. But I also love bands like Skillet, TFK, Anberlin and Kutless(more specifically the 'Hearts of the Innocent' album), I can't help but jam to a good driving rock sound as well.
I’ve been a Christian my entire life. Born and raised in the church because my dad was a pastor. I’ve dealt with severe depression, anxiety and suicidal ideations for the past few years. I love Lacey Sturm and songs like this because it speaks to the darkness that we all have inside of us, but some of us just aren’t as good at controlling it. Gives me hope knowing not everyone is a straight laced Christian with a big smile on their face. Lacey Sturm, Flyleaf and bands like this are for those of us that hurt.
I just can't get past this song. I love it so much! "I drop all my weapons to show you that I'm not afraid! Take the bullets away!" Whether ur christian or not I believe this song will lift you up from a bad place that you are in :)
as someone going through a deep depression and trying to seek help before it's too late, this song hits home. I know I couldn't survive without songs like this to get me through to the next day.
Morghan May Gender has nothing to do with one’s ability to scream, lol. I know you meant it as a compliment, but the bar shouldn’t be set at “as good as guys”. Guys and gals should reach for the stars.
I'm not even religious, but I do like this song. Many family members have killed themselves, and I've (thankfully) failed at my attempts. There's still a lot to this song I can relate to, it's a great piece
Drove up from NYC to see you guys at Clifton Park. So worth it. Second time for me. :) Thanks for giving a show worthy of a huge venue. "One Man Army" absolutely made my night. Will be catching you again.
Really amazing lyric video, probably the best I have ever seen. Song is pretty superb, couldn't have an awesome lyric video without awesome lyrics to back it up.

Yet, I wasn't sad for long, these awesome people we met outside of a roller coaster ride, We As Human, cheered me up by signing my bracelet and talking with me. I'll never forget that moment. Thank you guys, even though you'll never see this. :)
It is human nature to try to find ourselves in religion & when things don’t go the way we expect or calamities of the world in our pride we blame God , forget that we live in a fallen world. It is obvious that it is not Gods fault
Without a doubt the most powerful part is "You're so disarming". Unless you've gone through a Christian guilt crisis, you may not realize the power in that.
The parts where Lacey sings give me goosebumps everytime. And yes I do want to be something more than a memory..... Shit someone's taken all my bullets away lol

I love how this song doesn't sugar coat everything and pretend that everything is just okay once you are a Christian
Bryan G yep, I fought depression recently and knew that I’d overcome it because God was on my side.
Yeah definitely.... Only the strong survive. 💪💪
I 'm not Christian
This is a Christian discussion we don't if to know if you're not. No hate btw.

Lacey's first scream gives me goosebumps every single time! I adore every aspect of this song.
Marjorie Bowlden Me too! Love it.
Marjorie Bowlden yeah that 1st one made me think of when they 1st started out and for it to come out of her, as little as she is, is amazing

I think it ruins the song imo

Sry to hear this. I lost my sister to suicide when I was 15.
It sucks ass... Andrew WHOSOEVER Owens
This song is worth it for the screams alone. I love the exchange between their voices when Justin and Lacey scream "TAKE THE BULLETS AWAAAAAAY!"
TheDragons12 emo
+TheDragons12 In my opinion I love this song because I listen I feel about the man or woman who are in the darkness have someone want to take them out

Why does it feel that 1:06 is a screaming competition and Lacey just dominated it?
yea, she killed it
I you liked that I reccomend given up by linkin park there is a part where he screams for 17 seconds
it isn' t

I read this right as that part came and yeah, she won that!
its so nice to hear lacey's screams again and her voice.

its the epic lacey scream lol everytime she pops out a scream i get chills shes so freaking good

I really don't get how you could interpret it in any other way besides having to do with God. But if you want to cling on that, then alright.
This is the best lyric video I've ever seen
garrett Lanctot this is better =) watch?v=C1Sd3fTZey4
I agree
ViperVenom well i'd rather listen to something that isn't so... bad. why even link this in a christian song's lyric video?
garrett Lanctot Right!!! this is by far the best
Solarc12 It talks about self-discruction
I love when Lacey screams! 😍 We as Human + Lacey = ❤ Great Song!
If we are not helping each other. We are destroying all. Rise above the childishness. We got this!
Sometimes i feel like i'm too far gone for a remedy too, but God's never leaving us. Great song, i love Christian rock
This was my personal favorite song off the album. It has that hard rock sound that I love with the message that I love even more.
Hey Go Flames! Fellow LU student
I start in August, actually :D
"I was ruined by the world but I blamed it on the Son."
My favorite line. I have done this time and time again, and realized it wasn't the Son who did it, but the Son who saved me from it all.

this song is about being self destructive, the bullets are the things we hurt ourselves with, we are the gun.....
