Robbie made me feel safe and comfortable. He made me feel seen. The Cavetown fanbase were the first people I came out to. They were strangers but felt more like old friends. Thank you all for helping me
Everytime I listen and sing this song I end up crying. I was in an abusive relationship and didn't realize until i heard this song, this was exactly how I felt in the late months after the break up. I was so lost and even doubted myself because for her, everything was always my fault, and her (kinda mine) friends helped her gaslight me into thinking it was.
It's been some time since, this is still one of my favorite Robbie's songs, it helped me go throught a lot.
So sorry you had to go through that! Im sure youll find someone 20 times better than her and someone that actually cares for you
Robbie nails it. I'm really old now and this song makes me remember that relationship with a sociopath some thirty years ago... Rob's understanding of these things is profound; surely a lot of people benefit from his beautiful work.

Been going through a tough time with my emotional and mental state because I got broken up with and my dad died before school started. I have been dealing with listening to your music and whenever I hear your music or see you Robbie it reminds me everything is going to be okay.
I am also a red head and I am learning guitar although alot of people say I look like Ed Sheeran.

This song just relaxes me and really just helps me think. About everything, really. My stress, thoughts that have waited to be thought about, designs, anything. First time I listened to it, I didn’t even like it. I didn’t see the significance in the song, but as I got myself to listen to it more and more, I realized how good the song actually was. The calm vibe of it mixed with the not so calm vibes. The still dormant feeling that came with the lyrics. The uncertainty of it all, really. Just, thanks Cavetown.
