    Thanks a lot for your videos Gert, i found them very helpful. I am woundering, how do you take a big breath thru the snorkel? Or do you put the snorkel away to take this breath and then dive?
    Cheers!

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 года назад +2

      there are several ways to take a final breath. one would be through the snorkel when you're floating face down. You do it the same way as described in the video. It will feel different, but try to engage the 2 or 3 parts.

    Hey Gert, thank you for all the experience you're sharing! It really helps a lot!
    There is a problem with my final breath. Taking the 3-part final breath during dry training, it feels like the air in lungs makes high pressure on the vocal folds. So it requires extra effort to keep the vocal folds tightly closed (hence stimulating tension in the neck) or, if the neck being relaxed, air starts sipping in mouth after some time of the breathhold. The latter bothers me a lot during the relaxation phase making it shorter and not-that-relaxed.
    Is there any excercise to keep the vocal folds tightly closed without causing extra neck-tension?
    Peace!

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  Год назад

      yes there is. it's called stripe bretahing. exhale through the mouth and then shut of the air coming out by closing the vocal folds. do this many times in 1 exhalation. aah / aah / aah /... Another thing you could use a nose clip but then you're not training to close your vocal cords

    How should fins feel on your feet? Is a slight squeeze good or not 🤔

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 года назад

      well.. that all depends on what you use them for. For beginners make sure you can keep them on for at least an hour without your feet getting hurt. For competitive freedivers they use tighter fits but can only use them for 10-15 mins. The footpocket should fit well, but not too tight.

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 года назад

      @@anthon2915 wait as long as you can to buy new fins. Also dynamic apnea is different from deep diving. Probably you still need to progress in deep diving a lot. Use your money to follow courses or coaching. ✌️

    Hi Gert!
    I often finish having my tongue pushing up the extra air towards the top of my mouth..is it correct?

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 года назад +1

      never heard of that! i would't recommend it.. the less movement the better

    • @ntartienii
      @ntartienii 3 года назад +1

      @@gertleroy I reckon it happens because as 4th part I try to keep a bit of air in my mouth and later when I start having contractions I push it down to my lungs..so mouth has to be empty and relaxed?

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  3 года назад +1

      @@ntartienii when you close your mouth there will always be air inside. it's never empty. the moment you put your lips together you are trapping air inside. don't overthink this. certainly don't use the tongue. just close your mouth and know there will be air inside.

    Dont you love that dream relaxation but beginners dont forget to save enough air to get back.i hear you just giving up life for the dive because it is life.its when i woke up and learned without study.
