You asked if we thought they were overpriced? Yes absolutely! I agree with some of the other comments that the business isn't the same now that it's not run by the family! It'd be nice to get your hands on some of the old antiques that were made by the original Louis Vuitton! Those would be worth the high price tag!
Yeah the business isn’t the same, it’s much larger and more successful now. If only we could bring the dead back so they could continue to run the company hey
The bigger the brand, the more overpriced its products, people are paying for the brand, the price has no relation to the quality, highest priced product doesn't mean it's the best quality. To make people pay more than they should is all down to marketing and brand building.
The beginning success of this company was awesome and it made me root for them, but when the family lost the business and Bernard took over, the family built company connection was lost and I kinda hope it falls off soon. Sneaking behind the owners back to get majority stake is scummy and I don’t respect that type of hustle.

This is not true. While Chanel commissioned the bag, it was an adaptation of an existing bag that LV already had. At all times LV retained copyright over the bag, Chanel just asked for certain modifications. Copyright law is complicated but essentially what Chanel asked for was not sufficiently original for new copyright to subsist. Possibly LV just want to keep it simple by not mentioning the history.

A betrayer needs to pay the price sooner or later. He have money but still the company name itself holds the creator's name so he wouldn't have respect but only money
The thing about brands is the name. The power of a name is very often overlook. Yes as it may at first the name was worthless but due the high quality the value of the name slowly increase. Then was promoting the brand via models and collaboration with other high name brands which only empowered the name of LV further. Also with the law of supply and demand, due to the high premium quality only so much can be produced at a time which limits quantity. Paired up with the models, collaborations, it being a sought out high premium quality produce to sky rocket demand. So between on what limited product you have on supply, the very high demand and of course it being already know as a luxury brand, LV can dictate what ever price they want as everyone want these bags. LV is the status of you are rich and you have made it in life. So being seen with a genuine LV product portrays the owner as wealthy in the public. Basic supply and demand concept, If a product or resource is scarce and everyone wants it then the seller can dictate the prices with how much supply he/she has. In this case Seller has full control.

Basic supply and demand concept,
If a product or resource is scarce and everyone wants it then the seller can dictate the prices with how much supply he/she has. In this case Seller has full control.
