Honestly I probably won't buy any designer bags; I got too many damn pets at home. But the fact the actual Louis Vitton worked his way up the hard ladder to start the original company is inspiring, and the fact he made sure people trained 18 months till they were good enough to make a bag on their own really shows how much he valued quality over quantity. It's unfortunate the company ended up contracting with the Nazis, but we also have to consider without Nazi nuke tech, we wouldn't have microwaves or modern airplanes or x-rays or home computers. It's one of those things we have to weigh with our personal choices to use Nazi tech in our private homes and when traveling. Regardless of what LV company has become today, I think the original company and the actual LV man himself were admiral.
Benjamin Franklin is credited with finding it in BUT if you look up and read about the Baghdad battery there was a pot believed to be from around 224-660 outdating Ben Franklins findings by over 1000 years. The battery used a copper tube, an electrolyte, and an iron rod which is now known to create electricity. This was repeated on mythbusters and they were able to achieve 4 volts (when putting multiple in series) of electricity when using Lemon juice as an electrolyte.
My mum was friend with his goddaughter. Lovely, elegant old lady ( I was in my early teens at the time, I am now 51!). She was already very old at the time but she had a spark in her eyes and hadn’t lost her femininity nor her sense of style. I remember her showing me a hand bag he had made especially for her birthday when she was a young woman. Beautiful chocolate brown thing. The most remarkable thing is that it wasn’t covered with the LV letters. Just an elegant, non assuming and high quality hand made bag. One of a kind in that respect. Nowadays a lot of people buy them so they can be seen with a designer bag. Sad. I prefer the ‘ insolence’ of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
The ending was a disappointment, The person who stole this company from the family does not deserve to be one of the richest men in the world. I never really understood the hype with this company, but knowing this I will never support it. The original story, and the fact it stayed so long with the original family is inspiring.

The only item I own of LV is a black ‘windcheater’ jacket with the coolest fitting hood ever! The amount of comments I get about it,it’s quite amazing really, mostly because people see the little LV logo’s shimmering like raindrops. It was over 2k
As always great video, I'd like to add a fact many might already know, but imo really interesting. Louis Vuitton avoids sales at all costs, so instead of offering discounts, the brand disposes of unsold pieces by burning them
Specifically burn bags in the United States owing to a ‘duty drawback’ law. Allegedly, if something is imported into the United States with duty having been paid, then subsequently destroyed, these duty payments can be reclaimed.
They’re like most businesses. They start our making a great product, then as they grow they’re either bought out, go public and/or there’s a change of upper management. they spend more on marketing and story telling/virtue signaling and less on product. At some point they move their production facility to China, while also lowering the quality of materials. they also hire a few celebrities as brand ambassadors. That buys them a few more years until one day you see them in Ross or Marshall’s.

Louis Vuitton is one of the best brand in the world. The humble origin story of this great brand is simply motivating and interesting. Therefore I promise eventually with Gods grace my brand will be the most luxurious, and most valuable brand in the whole world.
@@A_Ducky well, mostly because I'm on the other side of the 'market': I tend to support small businesses. In this case, I already knew that their market was the luxury top notch, but I did not know about the Nazi connections and did not know that the business was "stolen" from the family. They don't need me as a customer anyway.
If LV produces high quality goods? Yes I will totally agree BUT we can get something with the same or even better quality of goods from another not so well known brand or from private craftsmen (e.g. Handbag). What the customers pay mainly is for the brand.
As with other brands, that "went public", it became mere overpriced status symbol, fortified by some ridiculous restrictions (one friend was once barred from buying all stuff she wanted at once, because they apparently have some limitations of how many products 1 person can buy per 1 day),, that is slowly losing utility value… Personally, I dislike brands and all the pricey stuff I have either display no branding at all (particularly if it was made on order), or it display my personal branding. Sometimes, it puts me in a complicated situation - like when I was in need of new glasses for when I forgot to order new contact lenses. All of them were fugly and the least fugly had HUGE logo of Emporio Armani splashed all over them… Disgusting…
If they want people to stop counterfeiting their products, they should start selling stuff normal people can afford. For example bags for under 200 usd, which is still expensive for lot of people but way cheaper than their other products.
They are very high quality bags but I don’t think the price is justifiable. As much as I love fashion, I could never spend that much on a bag unless it packed and carried itself. But I also would not buy a counterfeit product. I always wonder how much revenue fake items cost a company, because they are assuming those customers would purchase their bag instead of the counterfeit if it were not available.
A betrayer needs to pay the price sooner or later. He have money but still the company name itself holds the creator's name so he wouldn't have respect but only money
I'm not sure on modern LVMH bag, But I'd love to have a LV bag in Louis Vuitton era. Not just bc it's where it started, but the Quality seems Very Promising & worth its price.

Any humble person doesn’t GAF about these brands!!! Live within your means !!!
Exactly 😂
@B Ulrich But I need to heat up my chicken Popeye .🐔 😢
He was an admiral too? In what navy?

1:02 Kinda hard to have Electricity as a child if you are born 50 yrs before it is invented
Yeah, that was silly. Probably most people didn't have running water either.
Electricity wasn't invented. People didn't invent static electricity or lightning.
Your videos are very impressive. Beautifully edited, engaging and narrated. Keep up the good work!
Your videos are so well-edited. I hope you grow more and more since you deserve it.
Even Jake Tran is threatened by this guy. If you type Magnates Media on his channel it gets deleted.

Hand made products are always worth the premium... Especially with fine quality finishes, elegance and style. ❤
The ending was a disappointment, The person who stole this company from the family does not deserve to be one of the richest men in the world.
I never really understood the hype with this company, but knowing this I will never support it.
The original story, and the fact it stayed so long with the original family is inspiring.
Me too it discourages me from buying a luggage bag from them. Although I already owned one from years ago . I guess that will be my
Last purchase . I guess I’m off to Gucci or Chanel
@@njrom2975 like the other commenter said, if you have the money, please consider ordering a custom made bag or luggage from artisan shops in France or Italy. A much better investment than LV or Chanel (quality wise).
There are a lot of people that will pay $20 for a gold-plated quarter. Its actual value is maybe $0.26. Things are worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
Brilliant video and info. Extremely sad to know that it was taken over my someone who has no connection to LV and has got no real contribution in the creation. So sad.
The only item I own of LV is a black ‘windcheater’ jacket with the coolest fitting hood ever!
The amount of comments I get about it,it’s quite amazing really, mostly because people see the little LV logo’s shimmering like raindrops.
It was over 2k
🤮
As always great video, I'd like to add a fact many might already know, but imo really interesting. Louis Vuitton avoids sales at all costs, so instead of offering discounts, the brand disposes of unsold pieces by burning them
Specifically burn bags in the United States owing to a ‘duty drawback’ law. Allegedly, if something is imported into the United States with duty having been paid, then subsequently destroyed, these duty payments can be reclaimed.
WOW
@@davismotomiya29 that's true for almost anything though and in many countries...
I'm glad to hear someone going well from being homeless earlier on in his life for sure.
I say that also wow!
They were the ones who supplied the royal family with luggage, leather luggage& travel trunks
Extremely beautiful exceptional handmade products
Just because of such a great story I see the value of the bags now!
Whoever edited this video I just want to shake your hand. Holy shit amazing editing.
I slept in a forest during a genocide war where I almost got bombed two times by jets from 92/96, in 2015 I was homeless ever since a kid I wanted to become a car designer and open up my own car company. Hopefully one day I want to make this happen and help those out who struggle and dream but no chances to make it into reality as I was one of those kids

I found this channel via algorithms and im glad i did...as a history buff and liker of high end fashion this channel is gold.
I was never big on LV BRAND but I did buy several not long ago. This story is amazing.
Please do a Gucci documentary! I just finished reading a biography about them and it’s justifiably riveting!
Apparently Bernard screwed over Ye too, his son told him to trust his dad's word and forget about the paperwork so he did. Then backed out screwing Ye over hard. He talks about it in his podcast with Lex Fridman.
I ran away at 13 because of similar sadness at home. I started stripping under age and have been in this business now for 23 years. Although Louis Vuitton has always been an item most strippers aspire to own I have never wanted to until now. I’m going to value this purchase now. Thank you for this video. I feel so inspired✨
I hope life is kind to you ❤

Louis Vuitton’s value with Bernard 🗑️🚮💸
Louis Vuitton is one of the best brand in the world. The humble origin story of this great brand is simply motivating and interesting. Therefore I promise eventually with Gods grace my brand will be the most luxurious, and most valuable brand in the whole world.
Thank you for this excellent video.
You have just stated why I would not ever buy something from those companies.
Keep up the good work.
Is it the Nazi connections?
@@A_Ducky well, mostly because I'm on the other side of the 'market': I tend to support small businesses.
In this case, I already knew that their market was the luxury top notch, but I did not know about the Nazi connections and did not know that the business was "stolen" from the family.
They don't need me as a customer anyway.
Right! The business was stolen! That’s so disheartening.
If LV produces high quality goods? Yes I will totally agree BUT we can get something with the same or even better quality of goods from another not so well known brand or from private craftsmen (e.g. Handbag). What the customers pay mainly is for the brand.
As with other brands, that "went public", it became mere overpriced status symbol, fortified by some ridiculous restrictions (one friend was once barred from buying all stuff she wanted at once, because they apparently have some limitations of how many products 1 person can buy per 1 day),, that is slowly losing utility value…
Personally, I dislike brands and all the pricey stuff I have either display no branding at all (particularly if it was made on order), or it display my personal branding.
Sometimes, it puts me in a complicated situation - like when I was in need of new glasses for when I forgot to order new contact lenses. All of them were fugly and the least fugly had HUGE logo of Emporio Armani splashed all over them… Disgusting…
Thanks for the discussion. Didn’t know the origin of LV. He had quits a journey. Admirable.
Generally.. Men begin with a home and end homeless.. Hats of Louis.
He was born in 1821 and they had no electricity?! I'm shocked! SHOCKED!!
😄🤣🤭 candlelight it is
this editing is next level i hope to get this good im new to it all
If they want people to stop counterfeiting their products, they should start selling stuff normal people can afford. For example bags for under 200 usd, which is still expensive for lot of people but way cheaper than their other products.
Every part of his life journey sounds so meant to be
Quality is justified
Great accomplishment and motivation. 🙏
People are so evil how could someone sleep at night stealing from others
They are very high quality bags but I don’t think the price is justifiable. As much as I love fashion, I could never spend that much on a bag unless it packed and carried itself. But I also would not buy a counterfeit product. I always wonder how much revenue fake items cost a company, because they are assuming those customers would purchase their bag instead of the counterfeit if it were not available.
To play devil’s advocate, a lot of the people buying counterfeits wouldn’t be able to afford a legitimate one anyway
I imagine 1 out of 20 people with counterfeits could even reasonably afford an authentic one.
The price is justified compared to Hermès
This story is amazing I really enjoyed the rags from Riches story. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
A betrayer needs to pay the price sooner or later. He have money but still the company name itself holds the creator's name so he wouldn't have respect but only money
1:30 Should that not be "LV worked from Dawn to dusk as opposed to dusk to dawn"?.
I'm not sure on modern LVMH bag,
But I'd love to have a LV bag in Louis Vuitton era.
Not just bc it's where it started, but the Quality seems Very Promising & worth its price.
your videos are so cinematic. engaging until the end. stuck to the storyline. I have subscribed so keep it coming.
Even while he was still alive, people were trying to copy Louis Vuitton's products.
woah! The Editing Damn Killed It.
Low key don’t even wanna buy a Lv after that dude took it like that.
I wish I could go back in time and get a catalog for the LV luggage. I love LV so much
Great video editing, production quality, and storytelling skills! I liked this a lot! Please make more. And keep up the great work! God bless you 🙏🏽
Omg! Grew up without electricity or running water..just like everyone else in the early 1800..and 90% of people lived on farms

Never judge anyone. You never know what they may become!
Or what they’ve been through💪🏾
i truly have no desire to wear or own anything from LV whether i can afford it or not
For one their racist, for 2 they collabed with nazis, 3 their overpriced, 4 the man that owns it backstabbed the owner. This is pretty crazy
Wow...Great story! Happy and sad...LV is the man RIP
