I love what our species is capable of with respect to technology and engineering. Seeing what we have achieved makes me admire humankind. I focus on the positives rather than the negatives.
FYI you showed both Chesapeake bay bridges. The high one is the MD bay bridge which has no tunnels. The Virginia Chesapeake bay bridge is the long one with the tunnels.
I went over/under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel in the mid 80's. The person I was with could not be convinced we were in a tunnel under the water.
Just a friendly suggestion. You should organize these lists so they have an order to them. For example, with this list, you should do a countdown from 15, the shortest bridge on the list, to 1, the longest. Not just place them in any random order, like these lists are.
Some of the footage used to represent the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel, located at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, was actually of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, located in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
Really like the part on the Sheik Zayed bridge with “3 lanes in each direction” and the video of not-that-bridge clearly shows 3 in one direction and 4 in the other. And yeah - wrong Chesapeake bridge shown.
Two weeks after Christmas about 30 years ago I got stuck on Atchafalaya Basin Bridge (what the signs on the bridge call what you call Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge) for over 24 hours when 2 18-wheelers collided turning them over blocking all lanes including the shoulder lane. I am glad I carry emergency supplies. Did not have any way to use the bathroom so I walked over to the side of the bridge and relived my bladder. Being a diabetic I was unable to hold it. I now have a hospital style urinal in with my emergency supplies. I was able to hold the other side.
It's CRAZY that app these countries have modern bridges & roads, sometimes brought to you by U.S., yet the U.S. roads are HORRIBLE & so outdated. Yet we got the bill for "gkobal" bridges. CRAZY!
Im happy to see 18:56 Philippines Metro Manila Skyway hopefully Philippines 🇵🇭 can build more longest sea bridges because of our archipelagic country hopefully soon the Manila Bataan Bridges and the bridges can connect Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao once we have this we can boosted our economy and development
The high masts on cable bridges aren't just there for the asthenic look they give, but to help guide the vessels coming in at night and during low visibility. I have crossed the Mackinaw bridge many times. "Big Mack" we call it in Michigan, 😉 Crossed in a car, on foot, and underneath on snowmobile. Never on a boat though.
Great video, these videos are for cool guys only frfr it's only for people who love architecture and whomsoever are cool guys up in this mother frfr and it's not like my cat Riker can even do anything frfr
The Metro Manila Skyway was constructed by segments, the first one was in 1995 and the final segment completed in 2021 Currently, the longest flyover in Southeast Asia was Bang Na Expressway in Thailand, followed by Metro Manila Skyway and MBZ Skyway
I drove the third largest bridge mentioned here for the first time in my life and promised myself that I would never do it again! I also noticed you did not mention the fact that you failed to mention the portion of that bridge is definitely a tunnel, and you're actually driving under water! It was my first day as a professional Tractor Trailer Driver. I had a DEATH GRIP ON THE STIRRING WHEEL AND BLISTERS IN MY HANDS WHEN I MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE.I am not a person who had the privelege of learning how to swim, so please understand my comment of NEVER doing it again! 😂🤣😂
I drove a tractor trailer over the manchac swamp bridge and the atchafalaya basin bridge in back to back days as I had to deliver to the Galatasaray chemical plant in Taft Louisiana then deadhead to Houston the next day and let me tell you I am glad I haven't seen either bridge since
I completely understand!!! I live on MD Eastern Shore and have traveled the Chesapeake Bridge Tunnels to VA to visit family. I Do Not trust those Tunnels!!! Or the bridge😮
@@andremiller1566 incorrect; Highway 50/301 takes one to the Chesapeake Bay bridge further up into the Chesapeake Bay, between Maryland eastern and western shores. You must be thinking of the smaller Virginia bridge on highway 13 between Norfolk and Cape Charles, much further down the Chesapeake.
In the Philippines, and Indonesia, it has a potential to build a bridge even longer than Hong Kong - Zhuhai Bridge, Mindoro-Palawan Bridge alone, when completed by 2049, it will surpass Hong Kong - Macau - Zhuhai Bridge, and building this hundred-km long feat will be more, and more challenging. Another bridge in making in my country: Bataan-Cavite bridge. 2nd San Juanico Bridge, when built between 2020s to 2040s, it will alleviate pressure too, on the 1st San Juanico Bridge, like the 2nd Penang Bridge did.
@@brad4texas The Virginia Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is 17 miles long sir. That Maryland bridge is a puny 4 miles long. I'm literally from Cape Charles and a big portion of my family lives in Norfolk. My step father and cousin worked on that bridge.
At NO. 9, the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the video is actually the ShanDong Highway JiaoZhou Bay Bridge, as it clearly says in the captions. Not sure how accurate other images and videos are though, especially the ones not in America.
i pray that in the very near future, in my lifetime, that my motherland, an archipelagic country - philippines - will be finally connected through.boring-machines made tunnels, bridges, from luzon, visayas, mindanao and to the far distant Palawann, it may be impossible but with political will from our politicians who have "malasakit/care" and technology...i know there are few oligarchs, they can collaborate and buy a tunnel boring machines to make this dream come true , so finally my country will be one nation, one people and one country; love from 12 million overseas filipino workers.

I had a freind behind me drive and as the recording progressed I said oh no don't look back, and my freind behind threw a flash bang at ground My passengers looked back and temporarily blinded and started screaming Ah fun days
I don't know how this is still a thing.. everyone can see the moon is round, the sun is round and it can't be that hard to realise when your on a mountain or building you can only see so far
It's incredible that you may live on Earth your entire life and never see or even hear about these bridges.
Or, with all the surface of the globe, I've driven over 2 of these bridges.
I love what our species is capable of with respect to technology and engineering. Seeing what we have achieved makes me admire humankind. I focus on the positives rather than the negatives.

Longest bridges in the world... and 11 days ago we had biggest bridges in the world, wow big difference... good to see them offering variety
Its amazing you could live all your life on earth and never see let alone hear of these bridges
Sometimes before sleeping at night i think to myself... hmm i wonder when I can go to these bridges
Crazy that 4 are in China and 3 in Louisiana

I see Louisiana made the list 3 times. Proud of my state. Drove all the bridges and they're a sight to see.
People who live in Louisiana are apparently among the happiest of Americans if I recall correctly from a study I read.
There are two Chesapeake Bay Bridges in Maryland. You showed both of them when talking about the one. I live bear the shorter one.
I don't trust a bridge in that place.. imagine building a bridge if your being a cheapaskate

How long do you keep your hair? I admire ladies that grow theirs to luxurious lengths, describe it and how it looks?
Some exquisite engineering but I won't travel any of those bridges. I like to stay on the ground.

Why Hong Kong bridge is ranked 15 of the world ?
Because Hong Kong took too long to sing a song and be made... not anonymous as in non anom
Honestly my anxiety could never cross those bridges. 😂
We have it here in the Philippines, the Cervantes bridge but longest in years before it is finished, its almost took 4 decades😂😂😂

I don't know what you expected a team a to rock up and assist?
So we could build a bridge from Florida to Cuba 9pm e a colony
Praise the lord
Praise Lucifer and the Celtic gods
