Thank you for lovely thoughts, for the consideration of this. it's less what we perceive but all what we feel. words don't teach. the underlying truth had to be the unconditional in pleasure or the most natural state of being; we have to head toward the beginning of this physical journey (childhood), when you had a difficulties to understand why you have to feel bad or did you had to accept some truth they told you about human reality. this underlying question of spirituality is pure positive energy, clear and sure and stable and well being - abundance and joy. And then, as you perceive life, only good can come to you - and only good can come from you. - Joy it up!
"Consciousness or whatever"??? Adyashanti reminds me of J. Krishnamurti. He talks and talks beautiful talk but leaves you with nothing. This isn't a teaching it's a recitation of poetry. Classical vedanta. That's a teaching.
It's natural for the mind to want xyz so it can figure it out but that's the very problem that stops people from awakening. Just relax and let go, surrender to the moment. All teachings come back to this point.
James Masters The thinking mind tries to figure out how to get what it wants. Sometimes it decides to 'surrender' in order to get what it wants. So-called, 'surrendering' is just an action performed by the thinking mind in order to achieve a specific result same as 'figuring out' is an action by the thinking mind aimed at achieving a specific result. Neither will lead you to self knowledge. It takes a proper teaching to inform you of what reality is. Self-knowledge is when the surrenderer is surrendered. The surrenderer cannot surrender itself. The knowledge that you are the awareness in which the thinker does its thinking...that knowledge surrenders the surrenderer. If 'awakening' doesn't confer the knowledge that you are not the doer/enjoyer then that term is used merely as an adornment. I think Adyashanti's teaching beats around the bush and ultimately leaves people confused and frustrated if they are serious about knowing 'enlightenment'.
I'm glad Adyashanti is back on RUclips
Adyashanti Re-Unloaded
I AM THAT I AM, is the ultimate truth
No, "I AM" is. ... No, "I" is. ... No, "IS" is.
"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"
You are the one that has the thought of a "you" that can say "I AM".

Nice to see you again
Enjoyed this very much. Wish it were longer, I was hanging on every word.
Be careful what you wish for.

But... but... the new Adyashanti is just a reptilian impostor! O_O Run! RUN! ... I mean... LOG OFF!
It's like there's no "size" whatsoever. The size/machinery of the "universe" is as if "magnifying" the size of mytochondria or the atom.
i, I, eyes, minds eye.
The eyes have it.
Neigh!

Sometimes the distinction between something and nothing is a little hazy :)

He leaves you with nothing and your mind cannot appreciate it. ;-) Higher teachings are too simple.
Enlightenment looks awful.
May I ask you why?
Spirit Splice it is
Enlightenment looks everything.
