What I thought always wondered is are leather Deauville’s a good return on investment? Like, the boyfriend bag, a Birkin, the Chanel classic, those are all good investments to where in the future it would be worth more than what I paid.
This review is so helpful with deciding on my next travel tote! I absolutely love the 21B wool collection of the Deauville, and it sucks that they don’t really relaunch fabrics. So now I’m looking at some pre owned ones, and I’m torn between the white/beige and the navy one from that collection. I’m a neutral beige girl all day, but knowing I’ll be sliding this under the airplane has me leaning towards navy. Any updates on the wear on the wool? And your thoughts on what color I should get? Appreciate it and thank you!!
Hi Tintin :) I only wear mine on occasion, so no wear and tear. However, if you're looking for a workhorse, I'd expect this to definitely show a substantial amount of wear over 5 years given it is a fabric tote. My personal opinion is that either Leather or Nylon totes are better suited as workhorse totes. That being said, if you're okay with wear showing, then I think you can definitely get 5 years use out of a Deauville. Now that I see what you're looking to get out of this bag, I would def consider scotchguard if you have one of the mixed fabric Deauvilles (not the pure wool one)...you can test a corner of the bag to see how the fabric takes to it.
Super helpful review! 😀 I love both the booktote and the Deauville, but I think I would go for the Deauville because to me the Booktote looks to bulky and doesn’t have a shoulder strap. 😄
I enjoyed the battle style when you compared both totes. For me, I won't pick either as a work bag as I need to lug my laptop everywhere and backpack is the way to go to avoid shoulder pains and more sensible for a heavy bag 🎒. These bags are asthetically more prettier but otherwise work wise, I'm not sure if they work better for me. 😅
Completely fair 🖤 I feel like for work I used my longchamp bag when I worked in-office and I really loved that for carrying around a laptop since it was so light-weight
@@JulietPicard yeah, me too . I lugged my Longchamp noir large tote when I want a shoulder bag style for work. Just added a soft organizer or pouches to keep things organized in my bag.
Hi could you please provide the link to buying the zipper insert? Thank you 😍🙏🏻
Hi can you share the measurements of your Deauville tote?

Hi dear, want to ask how the Dior Book tote hold up to the protective spray. Do you think I can spray it on the oblique shoulder bags too?

Hi! Considering deauville! Only can have one tote but I need it to be a workhorse. How has wear and tear been? I need it to last like 5-10 years.
