@@TimWilborne I have two question, 1. how can create 10 digit counter. and 2. the count value should not reset after power off slc 500. (2324567999 after again power on 2324567999)
@@TimWilborne is it possible to do a reset with a CTD timer without a CTU one? My problem was it automatically resetting because it uses “-x, it’s constantly resetting itself.
@@tonyrange1874 A counter's range is 0-32,767. I won't go negative. You need to make you own using an ONS instruction and a SUB instruction in place of the counter.
Hi Ashish. I'm not understanding your question. Are you talking about around 11:40? The CTD counter worked. It will decrement the accumulated each time the CTD is enabled until it reaches 0.
I love these videos. It is really helpful for my senior design project.
I'm so glad!

do you have the later video on the overflow bit? I couldnt find it in your videos
Do you mean the math overflow or the counter overflow?
@@TimWilborne the counter overflow
@@urgayl0l No, I don't think I did. It will be set when the counter ACC goes from 32,767 to -32,768.

How would you add a reset to a CTD?
Use the RES instruction in a separate rung.

So it only counts once, on going from a false to a true rung. Not at all like a timer!
U could have made preset value in CTD counter 0,and acc value 10....then it would have worked counting down....RIGHT??

We can reset the Counter by using the (RES) instruction so the the Count Up over flow bit (OV) and the Count down under flow bit (UN) will reset also.
Yes all values except the PRE will be set to zero.
