It should be noted that if you're replacing sway bars, you should be replacing BOTH of them and doing so with ones designed to MATCH EACH OTHER. Simply swapping the rear or the front actually reduces the amount of traction you have. Sure, body roll will be reduced but body roll is actually helpful for traction. Second, replace your end links as well. The stock ones are not designed to handle aftermarket, large sway bars so swap the end links when you do these too.
Currently maintaining my 09 Focus SES like a desperate single parent. Surprisingly worth it so far. Sway bar shifted about an inch while replacing lower control arms last week. Couldnt move it back even with loosening bolts. Just gonna replace the sway bar and links. Can this video be useful at all for an 09 Focus SES? Sway bar looks very similar. Thanks in advance!
Yes it worked on my 2014 hatch so would work on yours. Just make sure not to buy the sways for the ST, get the ones for the SE. also you don’t have to take off the steering control stuff, you can lower the frame like a bit more and pull it out without touching that. Saves some time and effort!
Did you torque down the bolts to spec ? Didnt see that and me i like to ask questions?! So if not cool but if you do definitely mention torquing down bolts to specific torque. Seeing you used impact on mostly everything makes me think that any impact will do the job and if not please lemme know and not downing your video. I just wanted to let you know that your video could be misguiding and we all may do as you do in video and shows you just impacting in with a like 20v battery impact. 😅

You don’t need to do the steering rack bolts did this job last night and didn’t have to old one came out fine and new one went in fine too.

Not a easy job on jackstands. Been struggling for 6 hours now and still not even done. Stupid ass bushings dont move when on the car.
