  • We welcome you in Jesus name to celebrate with us at our 11:00 AM Sunday Eucharist as we celebrate the Feast of St. Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist. Deacon Robert Alan Shivers preaches, “Holy Keys: Who Is Listening?” (Ezekiel 2:8-3:11). The color of the day is red, which signifies the blood of those martyred for their faithfulness to Christ Jesus, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. We give thanks for 132 years of God’s grace and mercy to St. Matthew’s congregation.
From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the singing of joyous hymns: “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord’ (Entrance); “By All Your Saints in Warfare” (Hymn of the Day); “The Church’s One Foundation.” Our 11 a.m. distribution hymns are: “Amazing Grace”; “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”; “Softly and Tenderly.”
Special music for the weekend: Bill Glisson’s prelude “Faithfulness” (Carlson); The Adult Choir sings “Forever Blest Is He” (Handel/Stanton) at the 11 a.m. offering; Bill’s postlude “Amazing Grace” (Pardini).
