He E's to the harold, Q's lee sin, and then where most people would E to the dagger, he actually E's to the OTHER SIDE of lee sin and kills him, SO THAT he can then E to the dagger from the Q on lee sin to follow up on irelia. That is such a crazy important distinction for how he seemingly 1v5s every situation. He's fucking crazy man. makes the best irelia in the world look like a bot.
One advice I can tell about Katarina is that she is a very reactive champion. Which means she can instantly punish you hard for every little mistake you did. Katarina needs an advantage against you but every little advantage you give her is a big problem for you. Katarina can't open fights or 1v1 early but answers them way better when opened. The best example is like baiting cc spells out and dodging them with an E engage on you.
I like how as drew talks about the best one tricks being patient, IRELIAKING is just full committing and taking every single possible fight (with a lot of them just resulting in him dying).
he tilted, but IRELKING commits that hard because he thinks getting that gold will help him catch back up instead of just bleeding out and afk farming doing nothing the rest of the game until enemy ends, alot of KRs do this tactic, like hiding in a bush waiting for enemy to use all their spells on a creep wave then all ining them.
Love the content as always! Been learning the game for awhile, just achieved a personal goal recently thanks in part to you. Pretty small goal to be living on, but I finally played a mid lane game where I actually won lane, thank you for all of the advice in these videos along the way
I used to watch him back when I actually played the game since I also main kat. I always noticed he was exceptionally good at baiting people with kat and hourglass and just going back out. You'd be so sure he was gonna all in but then he just Es back out and all your stuff is on CD and his team kills you and then if you don't do that much then he just doesn't E out and he kills you. Nice to see he's still good putting up more than a kill a minute in this game.
Well deserved. Best katarina player in the world hands down. Everyone saying you cant play kat at higher elos because of this and that although its still solo/duo its really impressive in 13 days.
he FINALLY made a video on katevolved. He's one of the best high elo streamers imo, his knowledge and macro/micro (obviously being a pro player helps) is just levels above so many other streamers, and being in korea has proved that.
At 9:25, KatEvolved intentionally E's the opponent and NOT the dagger, knowing his E kills him, resetting it, then E'ing to dagger, damaging Irelia and resetting E again for the classic E, W, Q combo. That preservation of his dagger is something that 99% of Kat mains would never do. He probably double kills anyway, but he went with the smartest route that not a lot of players would realise in the heat of the moment. Crazy good player, love watching him.
Katarina is just the most min-maxed champion in the entire game. Horrible waveclear and laning, insane skirmishing. Makes her trash in competitive, but a nightmare in almost all soloq environments. Even if you play the matchup vs Kat well and you ping missing every time, sometimes it just doesn't matter and they'll steamroll the rest of your team then be too ahead for you to compete

I believe alot of people underestimate NA solo Q players just because NA Teams don't do well on the world stage, so they flame the NA server. I bet a good majority of NA challengers can reach Korean challenger on solo Q
yes and no, it's just been proven with some examples they can't, MOST NA Challengers struggle to get out of D1 KR, some famous examples are C9 Balls in s5 was hardstuck d5, TL Broxah was stuck in Diamond, Bjergsen early this year before LCS was stuck in diamond and just made it to Master/GM just before he had to leave.
watched a lot of his videos and learned a lot on kat and in general more game mechanics. his way of explaining vs hard matchups made them just so much easier for me in games
I always have a pretty bad judgment on katevolved as a player and as a person eversince the Yassuo drama, but damn, I would pay good money to see these two fight given how fast he's been climbing to korean challenger with a positive kda and win rate.

Katevolved is like real life Baki. Before his power-up he was hard-stuck in masters. But wow, just look at him now; crushing challengers in Korea! The power-up I'm referring to was when he lost his virginity to Moe's second-hand girl (kinda forgot her name). Whenever they were dating a while back.

If u are top challenger level player ofc u know how to play most league champs at challenger level, there are only "few"(not that many) champs with difficult mechanics so without practise ofc u wont play them like top challenger but u still should be able play Master +level no problem cause u still have knowledge of top challenger level player
Q dagger always lands in the line made of you and enemy it hits(behind the enemy). Imagine it like a line in maths thats made of 2 dots. Don’ know if that helped a little and english is not my main language. And for the combo just do ewqr then e again on the q dagger then e again if you need little extra dmg. Katarina is not really that hard in my opinion, hardest mechanic is knowing when to go in fights and when not to. Dont be pressured by your team to go in in a losing fight. They expect Katarina to e+r and do a pentakill.
she’s honesty not that difficult you just have to get used to her daggers, it’s kinda like a minigame, once u get used to a few key concepts you can beat it easily.

i honestly think he is one of the very few players where the ping difference is actually making a huge difference, ever since he is uploading from korea his gameplay has (kat)evolved. the way he is stomping his games makes me a bit sad that he left pro player and we never got to see kat on lan with 0 ping...
He talks about how much he loves having 5 ping on stream alot. Korea is also notorious for skirmishing all game and there probably isn’t a better champion or even possibly better player for that.
One thing just to be accurate, KatEvolved is not really a one trick, he can play many champs he used to play in TSM, he plays Kat for content mostly and he's freaking good
Katevolved is such a good player he smurfed in NA Challenger and he smurfs in KR Challenger. I think katarina isn't that strong of a champ she isn't yone or sion but if u can punish enemy mistakes u can carry so many games. But u have to verse players that don't know what they are doing.
I think it's sad cause Kat is just broken and Irelia scales more with skill than champion power. too many mistakes to make at once with her meanwhile Katarina is far less punishable. I still think Irelking is way better than KatEvolved just cause of how fkin hard it is to master Irelia

One thing you should always remember when playing against katarina is to never underestimate her capabilities especially when the player is really good.
~ Decided to make a full in-depth comment adding on/correcting/explaining some points in the video for everyone, me being an extremely active viewer of KatEvolved's content for a long time now. ~ < To start, I want to say that KatEvolved is NOT a onetrick by any means, and has not been for over 4 years now. He is an ex-pro player from TSM Academy, scoring second place in all of NA Academy on his *first* year of playing. He can play every champion in the game at an insanely good level, and his knowledge and understanding of the game is absurd. > 0:42 Katarina is one of the easiest champions in the game to beat. Firstly, she is ALL damage and mobility, nothing else. She provides nothing for the team, and cannot setup any plays for herself unless the enemy team trolls or her team plays around her. Hold your abilities in lane and Katarina can't jump onto you. Walk away from her daggers are her damage becomes so low. Manage your waves properly and harass her whenever possible in the first 2 levels and you win the entire lane. She cannot do anything. At that point, she can only coinflip roam for plays and hope she gets fed. With proper vision and pings, this should never occur. And after the TP nerf, its very easy to manage your wave in a way that forces Katarina to permanently stay in lane, or you could even freeze on her when you get the opportunity and build a huge level and cs lead. 1:00 Notice how Kat doesn't walk up to Q the minions here. This is because Irelia just got 3 stacks of passive off the first few minions, and if Kat oversteps, she will Q auto auto him for 40% of his HP instantly. Kat is utter worthless at this point in the game. 1:05 Tosses Q to proc bone plating so he has a chance to all-in level 2 if the Irelia misplays. 1:07 Irelia lets her passive stacks fall off too, big mistake for level 2. She does this again 20 seconds later. 1:28 Irelia should never E the Kat. She has shunpo and will simply dodge it. That combined with her lack of passive stacks being maintained leads to her death. Of course, that and the fact that she stood on top of the Q dagger too. 1:57 He's been running Sunderer into full AP on this server with an early Mejais almost every single game. AD is by far the best on Kat in the early game, as she relies on her autos SO much to do damage. Though, AD falls off in the midgame, where AP becomes much more favored to make your daggers and R do boatloads of damage when you have full build. Sunderer gives tankiness, burst damage, healing, and the mythic passive of HYBRID % PEN scaling, which is the best thing you could want out of a mythic. Full AP afterwards combined with an AD item that wont ever fall off is a deadly combo. 2:28 After the onhit addition to her daggers, E, and %effective onhits on her R in Season 11, she turned from an assassin into a fighter. Not many Kat mains even like this change, but this lets her build AD and onhit items and feel unkillable. 2:42 Once again, Irelia tosses her E at a Kat who has her own E to dodge it. Kat's initial Q procs the bone plating, and Irelia jumped in with 1 passive stack again, so she's extremely weak here. She proceeds to stand there and let Kat wait her Sheen cd, E to her, AND pick up the dagger. She gets put to 1hp from this. 3:07 Irelia jumps onto a Katarina when she has both of her daggers, her E and autos with Sheen to burst her. Once again, Irelia has no passive stacks, and the minions aren't low enough for her to Q spam to. After this, the Nidalee should back off, but she doesn't, letting Katarina kill her too. By both walking onto 2 daggers and standing still. 3:29 Yep, that goes back to KatEvolved being an ex-pro player and knowing the game inside and out. He often goes out of his way to learn extra new tips and tricks to give him an edge on opponents. He can adapt, learn, and perform much faster than the majority of players. 3:52 That comes to understanding Katarina's damage. And yes, that comes with thousands of games on Katarina. If you want to learn her yourself, take a TON of time in normal games practicing, limit testing, knowing your damage, knowing every little advantage you can have, as well as working on getting your mechanics cleaner. KatEvolved knows the game too, not just his champion. 4:42 Kat now has sheen and warhammer with 3 kills and is up a level, and Irelia dashes into a Kat dagger, chunking her down low. She then walks up and lets the Kat Q R ignite her to 10% and the Q dagger is in the perfect spot to finish her off. Irelia should never EVER be walking up here. Especially comparing their items right now. 4:53 That's the Korean server. As you said later, that's why Katarina is actually pretty good in Korea. And this is also why he gets Mejai's almost every single game. There's a fight every 30 seconds and they coinflip everything. Surprisingly, Korea isn't too different from NA except for the fact that the much lower ping makes their mechanics way cleaner. Imagine how KatEvolved feels being on 9 ping with this champion. 5:22 That's how Kat works a lot of the times. Especially in lower elos. She can build a lot of different things depending on the game, and if you let her get fed, she'll steamroll you either way if you keep failing to abuse her weak early game. Or the fact that ONE SINGULAR ABILITY can catch her and kill her in a teamfight. KatEvolved has said it himself. The single biggest counter to Katarina is the brain. 5:45 4/0 Kat vs 0/3 Irelia who is down 2 levels with less cs and only a long sword for damage. She actually builds her passive stacks this time, WAITS for the Katarina to use E BEFORE using Irelia's own E. This catches her in a stun, she's able to chain-Q the back line, and kill Katarina here while she doesn't have ignite nor R. 6:37 As I explained before, Katarina can NEVER be taken into pro play. She is FAR too easily countered, has NO good matchups except like, veigar (and that's literally it) and she offers NOTHING to a team. She is all damage, all mobility. She only ever shines when players make mistakes. And that doesn't happen very often in professional coordinated play. The champion shines off of peoples' mistakes, that's why she's really powerful in SoloQ, especially in low elo. 6:54 Sudden Impact Relentless is by far the best things to take in the Domination tree for her, but a lot of games Resolve is a better secondary. Relentless Hunter gives the movement speed Katarina needs to chase and roam. Majority of games, Conqueror is the best primary tree to take, and he loves using Triumph, Legend: Tenacity, and LAST STAND. Last Stand is a big different compared to a lot of other players, he loves taking it on a ton of champions over Coup de Grace, unless of course Cut Down is better into the team. 7:47 Like I said before, a lot of Katarina's mechanics just comes from a ton of experience on the champion. 8:26 Yes, PLEASE practice in normal games, not ranked!!! 8:58 Yes. At this point in the game, Katarina is fed enough to the point where if you waste a key cooldown or CC ability, Katarina can freely jump on you and do your entire HP bar with her full combo. This is the point in the game where you HAVE to play SUPER safe and with your team and attempt to bait her out. Unfortunately for the enemy team in this game, this is the Korean server where they have to fight every 30 seconds, so Katarina gets a ton more kills and annihilates the game. If you were to shut down Kat a 2 or 3 times in a row here preventing her from getting more kills, she actually becomes super far behind. She can fall of easily, believe it or not. Just stop overstepping and position well. 9:15 Again, autoing is such a HUGE part of Kat's damage, especially early game, and ESPECIALLY with an AD build. Optimizing your autos in lane and in skirmishes is a huge difference from a bad Kat and a good Kat. 9:30 Genuinely don't know why Irelia flashed. 9:40 No, you can stop her. Irelia just ran it down, and now Katarina is fed, making her exponentially harder to stop. If the early game was played correctly, she wouldn't be anywhere near this point. Stop inting into her then complaining that the champ is broken. She's only "broken" when she's 20/0. And even then, one or two abilities such as Exhaust or a stun can lock her down in a teamfight and render her entirely useless. ** Continued in the first reply!!! Comment was too long xD **
9:58 Lee kick and especially Sett E and R are their main abilities for locking down Katarina. Sett trolled by not going exhaust this game into Katarina. 10:08 In case you're wondering what all to ban as Kat, you can honestly ban whatever matchup you hate/struggle with the most. Most of it lies on whether or not the enemy laner plays the lane correctly, not necessarily what champion they pick. KatEvolved feels like he can't do anything into Vex no matter what, and I personally permaban Akshan. Irelia, Yasuo, Yone, Sylas, Zed, etc are all really good bans too. 10:22 Again, constant skirmishing on Korean server screams Mejai's for any Katarina player. 10:34 Katarina gets E'd by Irelia, and then R'd by Sett and dies. 11/1 btw. Sett is 4 levels down, Irelia is 2 levels down. This Sett presses ONE ability and kills a fed Katarina. It's that simple. 11:10 He actually said that he maybe should've gone Bork first item instead of Sunderer this game to match the Irelia. Believe it or not, as long as Irelia doesn't troll, she can VERY easily solo kill the Katarina right now. 11:34 This was the last stack he needed for his Relentless Hunter. 12:07 Many of these different items and builds work, he's just been having a ton of success with Sunderer recently. There are a lot of games where he will still go full AP or full AD because he feels its just better into those team comps. 12:21 Yes it is, your E is an auto-attack reset, and this needs to be used a TON in the early game during trades. If you learn how to optimize your autos with the E auto reset, you will perform a LOT better in lane and in fights. You should also be using the auto reset to take towers faster. You can do this even when no minions are around by doing: Auto W E Auto in quick succession. You can E to a dagger from Q or W before it fully falls on the ground. This lets you get an auto attack reset to kills towers faster. It's a little trick, but things like that can go a long way. 13:08 He can't. No where close. Just because Katarina has 13 kills doesn't mean she can 1v4 flawlessly. Any little thing can still kill her. 13:42 As I explained, you can E to your own W dagger before it lands. By standing next to a wall, pressing W then immediately E'ing to the other side of it lets you quickly hop over almost every single thin wall in the game. Otherwise, you can Q a jungle camp and let the dagger bounce over the bigger walls and E to that dagger instead. You can also E to blast cones, honeyfruits, and scryer's blooms, which lets you be super mobile in the jungle. 14:12 You are correct. In normal proper macro play, taking top tower and resetting would be the best option. But of course, its the Korean server. And the only reason Kat is following this is for the Mejai's stacks, unfortunately not getting them. 15:05 Yeah... the top-tier Katarina players, especially KatEvolved are absolutely nuts on their champs. It only gets more insane when they take advantage of every single little mistake the enemy team makes. That's what Kat mains do. 15:14 People seem to think she's a faceroll champ. She's really not, and most players don't understand the sheer skill required to play Katarina at a top level. She's one of the 2 most mechanic complex champions in the game (alongside Azir, as KatEvolved says himself), and the mains that exploit that well are very distinguishable from the shitty players. 15:35 It's never worth to run cleanse on Kat. You need the ignite for damage + resets and you need the flash to secure a kill/reset or to escape a bad situation. You can stack a boatload of tenacity on Kat, and thats why you take Legend: Tenacity almost every single game. If the enemy team has a lot of CC, take Unflinching and Merc Treads too and get 67% tenacity. If the enemy team has little-to-no CC, KatEvolved will run Legend: Alacrity instead on his Conqueror tree for the early auto-weaving for damage. 16:00 Deathcap is a HUGE must-have powerspike on Katarina. It's very rarely NOT worth to go D-cap, all depends what items the enemy team is building and how much item optimization you need to do. 16:27 1 person uses 1 ability (flash) and prevents Katarina from getting the reset, leading to her inevitable demise. As you can very clearly see, it's not hard to stop her as long as you play properly. Sett even missed his E and she still died. 17:20 Yep. Once Kat dies 2 or 3 more times, she's so far behind and the enemy team scales up and destroys you. You can't play the game at that point, even with 16 kills. This is why your team NEEDS to play around you to keep your lead rolling, and also why a lot of Katarina mains get annoyed at the smallest mistakes by her teammates. If they let her die, her lead is lost and so is the game. Continue peeling and funneling your Katarina, if she gets a small lead, SHE IS YOUR WINCON. 19:10 When he's this far ahead and his lead is this fragile into a team comp like that? Zhonya's is a must-have here. He can't get picked in a teamfight and this lets him play MUCH more aggro than he could without it. 19:45 Might as well explain this too. Due to the fact that Katarina applies on-hit effects with her daggers, E, autos, and every champion and every single hit of her R, she is one of the single BEST champions in the entire GAME for Red Buff. If you have a fed Katarina, LET HER HAVE RED BUFF!!! She can apply it on everyone in an AoE, the sustain helps her stay healthy for teamfights, the slow keeps enemies inside of her combos for longer, and the burn can help her secure kills for resets. 20:04 He gets kicked away from his dagger before he can pick it up. He ends up flashing to the dagger for the E reset, then E'ing to the dagger to chunk the Sett more. He then E's to the Lee and barely doesn't kill. He settles for Sett instead. He backs off away from his dagger on the ground, baits the Aphelios forward, buffers his E on the dagger THEN flashes into range, so his E+Flash combo is instant. Chunks the Aphelios and Q's him, bouncing to Lee for the reset. He gets his R back, and just oneshots the poor ADC. At this point, he's far enough ahead where he can just jump onto the Nidalee and auto her to death. He played this perfectly, and this all could've been prevented if the enemy team was mindful of Kat's position on the map and wasn't fighting originally. This could've also been prevented if the Aphelios just didn't walk onto the dagger, letting his Lee die. Lot's of little VERY simple things that can stop her here, but are being severely overlooked. Yes, Katarina is extremely strong when fed, she's a snowball champion and that's what she's meant to be. Abuse her SUPER weak laning phase, and she will be useless all game. There is a reason that KatEvolved has NEVER lost lane to a Katarina in his life. Why would an assassin have abilities that can hit a whole team. So I always skip the beifing videos but I get your point. The autos aren't the only thing that procs the divine. Remember they reworked Kats passive to apply on hits as well as her ulti. That auto's definitely help cause you have cooldowns and still have AD stats to effect your autos but its not necessary.
I would say the only strong match up for kata is against veigar since his cage does nothing but even then if its a good veigar it can still be difficult
katarinas biggest strength is outmaneuvering enemy spells and being hard to keep up with, but they are actually pretty easy to kill. Once you manage to cc them, it's over for them. Also not quite sure why many people like Sunderer so much on Kat, it's an absolute selfnerf. Your damage output is a lot less and you get 50hp more than with protobelt.

One advice I can tell about Katarina is that she is a very reactive champion. Which means she can instantly punish you hard for every little mistake you did. Katarina needs an advantage against you but every little advantage you give her is a big problem for you. Katarina can't open fights or 1v1 early but answers them way better when opened. The best example is like baiting cc spells out and dodging them with an E engage on you.

I used to watch him back when I actually played the game since I also main kat. I always noticed he was exceptionally good at baiting people with kat and hourglass and just going back out. You'd be so sure he was gonna all in but then he just Es back out and all your stuff is on CD and his team kills you and then if you don't do that much then he just doesn't E out and he kills you. Nice to see he's still good putting up more than a kill a minute in this game.

At 9:25, KatEvolved intentionally E's the opponent and NOT the dagger, knowing his E kills him, resetting it, then E'ing to dagger, damaging Irelia and resetting E again for the classic E, W, Q combo. That preservation of his dagger is something that 99% of Kat mains would never do. He probably double kills anyway, but he went with the smartest route that not a lot of players would realise in the heat of the moment. Crazy good player, love watching him.

Katarina is just the most min-maxed champion in the entire game. Horrible waveclear and laning, insane skirmishing. Makes her trash in competitive, but a nightmare in almost all soloq environments. Even if you play the matchup vs Kat well and you ping missing every time, sometimes it just doesn't matter and they'll steamroll the rest of your team then be too ahead for you to compete

I believe alot of people underestimate NA solo Q players just because NA Teams don't do well on the world stage, so they flame the NA server. I bet a good majority of NA challengers can reach Korean challenger on solo Q

yes and no, it's just been proven with some examples they can't, MOST NA Challengers struggle to get out of D1 KR, some famous examples are C9 Balls in s5 was hardstuck d5, TL Broxah was stuck in Diamond, Bjergsen early this year before LCS was stuck in diamond and just made it to Master/GM just before he had to leave.

If u are top challenger level player ofc u know how to play most league champs at challenger level, there are only "few"(not that many) champs with difficult mechanics so without practise ofc u wont play them like top challenger but u still should be able play Master +level no problem cause u still have knowledge of top challenger level player

Katarina is the hardest champion in the game in my opinion. I just can't get this champ to work for me. Everytime I throw a dagger it lands in Africa.
Q dagger always lands in the line made of you and enemy it hits(behind the enemy). Imagine it like a line in maths thats made of 2 dots. Don’ know if that helped a little and english is not my main language. And for the combo just do ewqr then e again on the q dagger then e again if you need little extra dmg. Katarina is not really that hard in my opinion, hardest mechanic is knowing when to go in fights and when not to. Dont be pressured by your team to go in in a losing fight. They expect Katarina to e+r and do a pentakill.

i honestly think he is one of the very few players where the ping difference is actually making a huge difference, ever since he is uploading from korea his gameplay has (kat)evolved.

He talks about how much he loves having 5 ping on stream alot. Korea is also notorious for skirmishing all game and there probably isn’t a better champion or even possibly better player for that.

Katevolved is such a good player he smurfed in NA Challenger and he smurfs in KR Challenger. I think katarina isn't that strong of a champ she isn't yone or sion but if u can punish enemy mistakes u can carry so many games. But u have to verse players that don't know what they are doing.

~ Decided to make a full in-depth comment adding on/correcting/explaining some points in the video for everyone, me being an extremely active viewer of KatEvolved's content for a long time now. ~
< To start, I want to say that KatEvolved is NOT a onetrick by any means, and has not been for over 4 years now. He is an ex-pro player from TSM Academy, scoring second place in all of NA Academy on his *first* year of playing. He can play every champion in the game at an insanely good level, and his knowledge and understanding of the game is absurd. >
0:42 Katarina is one of the easiest champions in the game to beat. Firstly, she is ALL damage and mobility, nothing else. She provides nothing for the team, and cannot setup any plays for herself unless the enemy team trolls or her team plays around her. Hold your abilities in lane and Katarina can't jump onto you. Walk away from her daggers are her damage becomes so low. Manage your waves properly and harass her whenever possible in the first 2 levels and you win the entire lane. She cannot do anything. At that point, she can only coinflip roam for plays and hope she gets fed. With proper vision and pings, this should never occur. And after the TP nerf, its very easy to manage your wave in a way that forces Katarina to permanently stay in lane, or you could even freeze on her when you get the opportunity and build a huge level and cs lead.
1:00 Notice how Kat doesn't walk up to Q the minions here. This is because Irelia just got 3 stacks of passive off the first few minions, and if Kat oversteps, she will Q auto auto him for 40% of his HP instantly. Kat is utter worthless at this point in the game.
1:05 Tosses Q to proc bone plating so he has a chance to all-in level 2 if the Irelia misplays.
1:07 Irelia lets her passive stacks fall off too, big mistake for level 2. She does this again 20 seconds later.
1:28 Irelia should never E the Kat. She has shunpo and will simply dodge it. That combined with her lack of passive stacks being maintained leads to her death. Of course, that and the fact that she stood on top of the Q dagger too.
1:57 He's been running Sunderer into full AP on this server with an early Mejais almost every single game. AD is by far the best on Kat in the early game, as she relies on her autos SO much to do damage. Though, AD falls off in the midgame, where AP becomes much more favored to make your daggers and R do boatloads of damage when you have full build. Sunderer gives tankiness, burst damage, healing, and the mythic passive of HYBRID % PEN scaling, which is the best thing you could want out of a mythic. Full AP afterwards combined with an AD item that wont ever fall off is a deadly combo.
2:28 After the onhit addition to her daggers, E, and %effective onhits on her R in Season 11, she turned from an assassin into a fighter. Not many Kat mains even like this change, but this lets her build AD and onhit items and feel unkillable.
2:42 Once again, Irelia tosses her E at a Kat who has her own E to dodge it. Kat's initial Q procs the bone plating, and Irelia jumped in with 1 passive stack again, so she's extremely weak here. She proceeds to stand there and let Kat wait her Sheen cd, E to her, AND pick up the dagger. She gets put to 1hp from this.
3:07 Irelia jumps onto a Katarina when she has both of her daggers, her E and autos with Sheen to burst her. Once again, Irelia has no passive stacks, and the minions aren't low enough for her to Q spam to. After this, the Nidalee should back off, but she doesn't, letting Katarina kill her too. By both walking onto 2 daggers and standing still.
3:29 Yep, that goes back to KatEvolved being an ex-pro player and knowing the game inside and out. He often goes out of his way to learn extra new tips and tricks to give him an edge on opponents. He can adapt, learn, and perform much faster than the majority of players.
3:52 That comes to understanding Katarina's damage. And yes, that comes with thousands of games on Katarina. If you want to learn her yourself, take a TON of time in normal games practicing, limit testing, knowing your damage, knowing every little advantage you can have, as well as working on getting your mechanics cleaner. KatEvolved knows the game too, not just his champion.
4:42 Kat now has sheen and warhammer with 3 kills and is up a level, and Irelia dashes into a Kat dagger, chunking her down low. She then walks up and lets the Kat Q R ignite her to 10% and the Q dagger is in the perfect spot to finish her off. Irelia should never EVER be walking up here. Especially comparing their items right now.
4:53 That's the Korean server. As you said later, that's why Katarina is actually pretty good in Korea. And this is also why he gets Mejai's almost every single game. There's a fight every 30 seconds and they coinflip everything. Surprisingly, Korea isn't too different from NA except for the fact that the much lower ping makes their mechanics way cleaner. Imagine how KatEvolved feels being on 9 ping with this champion.
5:22 That's how Kat works a lot of the times. Especially in lower elos. She can build a lot of different things depending on the game, and if you let her get fed, she'll steamroll you either way if you keep failing to abuse her weak early game. Or the fact that ONE SINGULAR ABILITY can catch her and kill her in a teamfight. KatEvolved has said it himself. The single biggest counter to Katarina is the brain.
5:45 4/0 Kat vs 0/3 Irelia who is down 2 levels with less cs and only a long sword for damage. She actually builds her passive stacks this time, WAITS for the Katarina to use E BEFORE using Irelia's own E. This catches her in a stun, she's able to chain-Q the back line, and kill Katarina here while she doesn't have ignite nor R.
6:37 As I explained before, Katarina can NEVER be taken into pro play. She is FAR too easily countered, has NO good matchups except like, veigar (and that's literally it) and she offers NOTHING to a team. She is all damage, all mobility. She only ever shines when players make mistakes. And that doesn't happen very often in professional coordinated play. The champion shines off of peoples' mistakes, that's why she's really powerful in SoloQ, especially in low elo.
6:54 Sudden Impact Relentless is by far the best things to take in the Domination tree for her, but a lot of games Resolve is a better secondary. Relentless Hunter gives the movement speed Katarina needs to chase and roam. Majority of games, Conqueror is the best primary tree to take, and he loves using Triumph, Legend: Tenacity, and LAST STAND. Last Stand is a big different compared to a lot of other players, he loves taking it on a ton of champions over Coup de Grace, unless of course Cut Down is better into the team.
7:47 Like I said before, a lot of Katarina's mechanics just comes from a ton of experience on the champion.

At this point in the game, Katarina is fed enough to the point where if you waste a key cooldown or CC ability, Katarina can freely jump on you and do your entire HP bar with her full combo. This is the point in the game where you HAVE to play SUPER safe and with your team and attempt to bait her out. Unfortunately for the enemy team in this game, this is the Korean server where they have to fight every 30 seconds, so Katarina gets a ton more kills and annihilates the game. If you were to shut down Kat a 2 or 3 times in a row here preventing her from getting more kills, she actually becomes super far behind. She can fall of easily, believe it or not. Just stop overstepping and position well.
9:15 Again, autoing is such a HUGE part of Kat's damage, especially early game, and ESPECIALLY with an AD build. Optimizing your autos in lane and in skirmishes is a huge difference from a bad Kat and a good Kat.

9:40 No, you can stop her. Irelia just ran it down, and now Katarina is fed, making her exponentially harder to stop. If the early game was played correctly, she wouldn't be anywhere near this point. 10:08 In case you're wondering what all to ban as Kat, you can honestly ban whatever matchup you hate/struggle with the most. Most of it lies on whether or not the enemy laner plays the lane correctly, not necessarily what champion they pick. KatEvolved feels like he can't do anything into Vex no matter what, and I personally permaban Akshan. Irelia, Yasuo, Yone, Sylas, Zed, etc are all really good bans too.

If you learn how to optimize your autos with the E auto reset, you will perform a LOT better in lane and in fights. You should also be using the auto reset to take towers faster. You can do this even when no minions are around by doing: Auto W E Auto in quick succession. You can E to a dagger from Q or W before it fully falls on the ground. This lets you get an auto attack reset to kills towers faster. It's a little trick, but things like that can go a long way.

15:35 It's never worth to run cleanse on Kat. You need the ignite for damage + resets and you need the flash to secure a kill/reset or to escape a bad situation. You can stack a boatload of tenacity on Kat, and thats why you take Legend: Tenacity almost every single game. If the enemy team has a lot of CC, take Unflinching and Merc Treads too and get 67% tenacity. If the enemy team has little-to-no CC, KatEvolved will run Legend: Alacrity instead on his Conqueror tree for the early auto-weaving for damage.
16:00 Deathcap is a HUGE must-have powerspike on Katarina. It's very rarely NOT worth to go D-cap, all depends what items the enemy team is building and how much item optimization you need to do.
16:27 1 person uses 1 ability (flash) and prevents Katarina from getting the reset, leading to her inevitable demise. As you can very clearly see, it's not hard to stop her as long as you play properly. Sett even missed his E and she still died.
17:20 Yep. Once Kat dies 2 or 3 more times, she's so far behind and the enemy team scales up and destroys you. You can't play the game at that point, even with 16 kills. This is why your team NEEDS to play around you to keep your lead rolling, and also why a lot of Katarina mains get annoyed at the smallest mistakes by her teammates. If they let her die, her lead is lost and so is the game. Continue peeling and funneling your Katarina, if she gets a small lead, SHE IS YOUR WINCON.

Due to the fact that Katarina applies on-hit effects with her daggers, E, autos, and every champion and every single hit of her R, she is one of the single BEST champions in the entire GAME for Red Buff. If you have a fed Katarina, LET HER HAVE RED BUFF!!! She can apply it on everyone in an AoE, the sustain helps her stay healthy for teamfights, the slow keeps enemies inside of her combos for longer, and the burn can help her secure kills for resets.
20:04 He gets kicked away from his dagger before he can pick it up. He ends up flashing to the dagger for the E reset, then E'ing to the dagger to chunk the Sett more. He then E's to the Lee and barely doesn't kill. He settles for Sett instead. He backs off away from his dagger on the ground, baits the Aphelios forward, buffers his E on the dagger THEN flashes into range, so his E+Flash combo is instant. Chunks the Aphelios and Q's him, bouncing to Lee for the reset. He gets his R back, and just oneshots the poor ADC. At this point, he's far enough ahead where he can just jump onto the Nidalee and auto her to death. He played this perfectly, and this all could've been prevented if the enemy team was mindful of Kat's position on the map and wasn't fighting originally. This could've also been prevented if the Aphelios just didn't walk onto the dagger, letting his Lee die. Lot's of little VERY simple things that can stop her here, but are being severely overlooked. Yes, Katarina is extremely strong when fed, she's a snowball champion and that's what she's meant to be. Abuse her SUPER weak laning phase, and she will be useless all game. There is a reason that KatEvolved has NEVER lost lane to a Katarina in his life.

I hope he gets a team. He's been looking for a team since last split but he has this onetrick aura even though he plays every champion at an extremely high level. He regularly beats NA pros in lane and even some Korea pros
you can beat pros and be bad for pro play. Every pro player says that soloq and pro play are like a different game.

Why would an assassin have abilities that can hit a whole team. So I always skip the beifing videos but I get your point. However I imagine a pro could pull out their katas in solo q and have a higher wr cause of the game knowledge and that makes them a better kata for me. You guys only focus on mechanics

The autos aren't the only thing that procs the divine. Remember they reworked Kats passive to apply on hits as well as her ulti. That auto's definitely help cause you have cooldowns and still have AD stats to effect your autos but its not necessary.

katarinas biggest strength is outmaneuvering enemy spells and being hard to keep up with, but they are actually pretty easy to kill. Once you manage to cc them, it's over for them.
Also not quite sure why many people like Sunderer so much on Kat, it's an absolute selfnerf. Your damage output is a lot less and you get 50hp more than with protobelt.
