- Todd Boehly has done a NEW interview. In the interview, Todd Boehly was asked about Salary caps in the Premier League as well as alluding to Chelsea's goals to expand the growth of the Chelsea brand. Some Chelsea fans see this solely as Boehly expressing his desire to make money from Chelsea but I see it slightly different. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Petrovic has been great at playing with his feet and making big saves. There have been a few mistakes but he’s still a great keeper
You could argue that we can thank the growth of the brand globally for Caisedo snubbing Liverpool and Osimen looking at a move to Chelsea favorably.

Pickford will be a horrendous decision, apart from shot stopping all the other key attributes of keeping he is weak on, particularly distribution which is fundamental to Chelsea playing out from the back.
FFP is the reason Boehly is talking commercials. He’s clearly investing so I don’t see any concern.
This is simple... if you have a cap on spending IT HAS TO BE EVERY LEAGUE, otherwise you put a cap on talent you can bring to the Premiere League. Everyone has to be playing by the same rules or you make your league second tier to other leagues.

They are trying to make money by making Chelsea into a major global brand; by having one of the best teams in the world, and they are willing to lose a ton of money as “investment” to make that self sustaining - including actual advancement in the needed stadium upgrade. Real positives in here. Hope the Napoli deal for Osimen goes through, if for no other reason than it gets rid of Lukaku. Pickford is a no no - overrated and from what I've seen, could be a disruptive influence in a team which finally seems to be creating a proper team ethic/environment.
I agree with what you said about Boehly's comments - although I'm still not a fan of his ownership. It's a catch 22 - We have a great team, win things, new fans come on board, sell more merch, full houses and end result owners make money. But Ithis neesds to be done, as you said in a balanced way. The first step is to get the team winning. Worry about that, then the rest will foall into place.
I believe Poch, or whoever, NEEDS to reduce the size of the squad, the medical team needs replacing with some who know how to handle football fitness, and the, after that, the other things will be the flowon
We might even have enough good defenders if they weren’t always injured. 1 or 2 experienced midfielders plus a striker would be my aim.

The problem of buying so many wonderkids is where they will improve? Where they will play? We have like 4/5 CM u20 and 4/5 u20 RW including good tslents from academy. So how can we grow all of them?
I think the club is working on acquiring more football clubs so they can loan them out.

Yes. The club is signing a lot of young players, am agree that's attracting more fans watching. Just wonder is the owner really back Poch? My concern was the owners were going to sell Gallagher, Chalobah in the summer soon and keep bringing so many wonderkids. Of course I'm happy to see Paez and William to pick Chelsea. Just, do the owners really think FFP rules going to hit us? That's my worry. The owner can't just bring in a player that throws to the coach, that wouldn't get a good result.

I am a little worried that we are being misled into thinking things are improving more than they really are by looking at three results. A draw with Villa who look shattered, a win against a Spurs side where their players are not doing what the manager wants them to and a win against a side who are already on the beach waiting for the new manager to arrive. Even there, Bowen could have scored a hat trick with his teammates were putting in minimal effort. Four games ago, Chelsea were thrashed by Arsenal.

you are the only one fuming. Most of the mature Long term Chelsea fans are content with the clear minded interview that Boehly gave. They have a vision and they are finally seeing it coming into fruition .
No Pickford, no, no, no. Good shot stopper, not good distributor, too emotional, not at all an upgrade on Petrovic. Boehly's comments are for investors. Of course every owner is a fan, but Todd is more in touch with the financials and investment vehicle that is CFC. His job is protect and grow revenue and profit, even if CFC don't win every trophy. To be frank, Roman allowed/made some really bad buys but a handful of great seasons, and some all-time signings prop up his legacy.
If we manage to get a deal like 80mil(decent payments) plus Lukaku(37mil RC) that would be great. Lukaku could stay in italy. Napoli gets a proven Seria A Striker on the cheap. And Chelsea gets its dream ST/CF signing. Agree on Pickford. I dont want him. Chelsea dont need him. Get Gregor Kobel if you want a real long term no.1. Keep Petrovic as your Cup GK. Sell Sanchez. You’re in a tight spot FFP-wise, and a move like this isn’t going to help leave room for any top established players. Aren’t you doubling down on the Boehly approach to date then? Without experienced leadership in the dressing room and on the pitch can you break into Top 4 next season. Will you only barely make Top 6? Do you think fans will be patient with that?
Personally I have no issues with what George is saying, smart business, buy young, develop, and either keep or sell on? It's always been about making money? Roman was an exception to the rule, he wanted trophies whatever the cost? Under FFP that model wouldn't be allowed. We have to demonstrate income to spend and if the US is a market we can exploit, then it makes sense.

They want to create a marquee, elite team with elite, household name players that every kid will want to watch and have the jersey of… even if it causes their Spurs dad to disown them.
Chelsea, even under Roman, were not in a position where we drew that player after they had already become one of the 5 best players in the world. We had to take risks like with Hazard.
My one confusion is why people care if they want to spend money on youth. If we buy a player when they are 16, even if they are hyped, does that not go under youth developer y and investment? I thought that was exempt from FFP calculations.

2 There's a way to do things, you don't rip up a club like Chelsea and start from the bottom especially if you're new to football. You get a world-class spine, world-class medical team, world-class director, elite manager that's won things. All this equates to wining. Win on the pitch first, start there and you'll make money. All your multiclub fetishes could be fulfilled afterwards or easier.
