Thanks for this great reaction🤘 I love this song and performance, and I’m so happy they’re singing in Norwegian😍 Gåte is pronounced more like gaw-teh, and Ulveham means wolfskin. The song is based on an about 1000 year old folklore. They have a longer version, but in this version the English lyrics are: [Sample: Vocalization; Marit Jensen Lillebuen] [Verse 1] I was such a beautiful maiden My stepmother evil, my mother she died She turned me into a sword and a needle And sent me to the king's estate And the anger my stepmother felt the most That all the stately liked me best [Chorus: Vocalization] [Verse 2] Then she gave me skin like a grey wolf She cursed me to walk the forest alone And never will I bе whole and good Before I drink my brothеrs' blood [Chorus: vocalization]
Most singers would never even try to do that live on stage, let alone in a competition environment. She just blows the doors off the building with that power in her voice.
outstanding performance & a tune that speaks to ones soul imo ... I ve listened to "gåte" a few years back (im Norwegian living abroad), and yea its folk rock .. Love that they're singinig in Norwegian.... If want a piece of the Norwegian soul ; this is it, yet the vocals and the tones hits something universal, all people who truly loves music, will recognise.....ita a bit of a "home coming' , root feeling to it......touching the strings of longing for the place where there's peace and rest ...
Gåte (pronounced Gaw-the) is amazing, love Gunnhilds voice. So much power, energy - and storytelling! The Norwegian language is just perfect! 12 big Viking-points to Ulveham and Gåte! 🥇❤️
I really enjoyed your reaction :D I really like this song. I would be really curious for you to react to Nightwish. They are a Finnish band symphonic metal band and have some of the most magical sounding music and the vocals are also otherworldly. I could recommend Ghost Love Score live from Wacken 2013. It´s the most reacted to video on youtube for good reason :D
Those lyrics. This is lyrics on a whole other level. -She then turned me into a grey wolf. She said I should in the forest walk. She said I shouldn't receive penance. Before I drank my brothеrs' blood.
Like she said it her self after perforning at teh afterparty: " Lets bring them the primal power!" - Yes, musically I can't see any real reason why they could not win the whole thing. Thanks
What the hell is the logic in that? I would now rather believe that cultural contributions where they contribute to conserving a country's old cultural expressions and uniqueness will be appealing to those who can be called...conservatives!?
My favourite so far. Amazing! From Croatia.
The best entry from Norway in many, many years!🤘🏼
We are so proud of her and the rest of the group 🇳🇴👏

Only "lefties" will vote for this...I'm Norwegian, but this is terrible even for me...
