Lovely review. I didn’t realize this model would add antennas! In terms of price, in the US it’s consistently around $48. A Herpa A380 is $40-$50 depending on release, so not much difference here. However, I can get an even larger, more detailed 1:400 A380 for the same price, so it becomes very hard to justify.
Do you have any contacts at JC Wings who you could contact to persuade to make more 1:500 models? They already do a few like this one and they do them better than the competition. NG has said they would consider 1:500 but haven't acted at all, so maybe JC Wings is our only real hope for some quality competition. I heard you can only reach JC Wings through Facebook, which not all of us have. Thank you for the review and for your tireless efforts as an advocate for 1:500 collectors!
I have loose contact with JC Wings, from what I know they are looking into making more scale 500 but I doubt that it will be any where near the same production rate as we see it from Herpa. However, the more the scale 500 community shows their support for JC Wings and reminds them in comments and DM's on Instagram that the scale 500 community would love to see more JC Wings models, the more likely it will be that they will make more scale 500 in the future.

@@BongoPlanes ich denke die Höhe vom Fahrwerk passt ungefähr nur das Rad ist zu klein...sonst sind eine Herpa a380 und die jc wings a380 eigentlich von der Höhe identisch
Does anyone know how to get model suggestions through to Herpa or other Aircraft model manufacturers? I would really love to see a 1:500 scale DC-10 in Western Airlines 1970’s spaceship livery, or Delta Airlines widget livery✈️
Herpa, take some notes! This is meant in all regards, but is especially true for the box design. The box design for this model is not even complicated, but it beats Herpa by miles.
Seriously, you're better off starting a 1:400 collection. Many more options: JC, Gemini, NG etc With 1:500, the options are very very limited and the most popular 500 scale manufacturer (Herpa) leaves a lot to be desired!!
I started my 1:500 collection with planes I've flown in, started with Lufthansa A380 when I was flying in a Lufthansa A380. Now I've got 99% of planeI flown with in 1:500 :). So I would suggest start with airline that you have flown with or some attachment to, as it would add more meanings to your collection :)

Das könnte daher kommen das das Fahrwerk vom JC Wings Modell etwas zu hoch geraten ist.

A wonderful and very good made model but ALL the gears, front and main are too tall... Even the 6 wheels bogies...

I would simply send Herpa an e-mail. They don't necessarily answer every mail they receive but they do claim that they read them all.
