Hello bass maniacs, today I was testing extraordinary Stradi Stoner Fretless 4 string bass, designed and procuced by polish luthier Marek Dąbek.
Quality of this instrument, string action, and overall impression are superb.

Thx for demonstrating this formidable instrument! But it is NOT a violin inspired shape. The shape comes from the classical double bass. Have a look at the shoulders of a violin and at the shoulders of a double bass. You will see, they are completely different. The shoulders of a violin meets their neck in a 90 degree angle, the double bass not. That is because they come from a different intrument family. Violin, Viola and Cello are relatives - the double bass does not belong to this family.
This mistake is also often made by spoking about the famous Höfner-bass of Paul McCartney. It is called a "violin" bass. But the shape of Pauls bass is NOT a violin - it is the shape of a double bass.

Hi Marcin, are you familiar with Wandré guitars? Check out his instruments, and in particular the Oval, it has the same shape as this bass. Wandré was a visionary luthier, famous for the bizarre shapes of his instruments in the 1960s, which have now become collector's items.

No controls of any kind is a "feature" I wish were more common.
Same like any controlles can be done with petals and amp setting I almost never touch my knobs unless I accidentally hit one then I reset it
@@guitarfox8316 No knobs and a volume pedal - that's Scott Grove's preferred setup (never tried it myself, though).
