Your lift looks great. I have a 2002 Explorer I would like to put a lift on. Have never done it before. How did you start? Also what type of rims are those?
For better traction try reducing the air in your tires to just 10 psi before going through sand & carry an air tank to reinflate your tires when you leave the sand.
@CxOxLxE Front suspension was almost free for me. My year 2wd has Torsion bars like the 4x4. I cranked the torsion bar adjusters to give me 3" of lift. 4x4s can't do that as high because of the CV shafts up front. Had to get it aligned after that. For the rear I bought a set of longer shackles and an add-a-leaf off of craigslist for $50.00. The three inch body lift was $150.00. Yours will be different though because you have IRS and IFS. You'd need longer coils or coil spacers front and rear
@SwedeFJ40 I do believe there's a lot of footage of it just parked in places. I do like that one part where the Ford is doing circles around the Toyota.
Haven't like the current gen of explorers. When they went over to a unibody layout I lost faith. Third and fourth gen explorers were the best with body on frame and independent rear suspension. I own a 2002 and it's cost me a boatload of money to repair but I think it's worth it.
@ericgerth well its hampered by ground clearence. im wel aware of its suspension design, set up and parts. But It handles like a car and does awesome on road. Off road its a little bouncy but still good
Hello Guys, Hope you are doing great, I have a Ford Explorer 2010 Limited 4X4 (4.6 Liters 3V) and I will like to lift it in order to put some higher tires (265 80 R17) but keeping the same rims (17") so I do not have any idea about the high of lift kit I can use in both sides (3" or 2.5"). Could you kindly help me on this matter ? I heard that 3" lift kit will stress the ball joints and some other components, is this thrue ? Kind regads.
I've got a 2004 limited edition and i have looked everywhere for a lift kit and can not seem to find one. do you mind telling me where you got yours along with the tires? thank you
@CxOxLxE I own a 2001 Ford Explorer sport 2wd. I take it off roading and have lifted it six inches similar to this video. 3 inch Body Lift and 3 inch suspensioln. Allowed me to install 33's on the truck and gain precious ground clearance. I won't say it goes everywhere a 4x4 does but it suprises some guys. I don't think it was pointless.
@elijahone2004 I don't have his contact anymore. You might be able to find it on explorer forum. What kind of brackets did you order? I went with 2.25" lift on the back and the drive shafts are rubbing where it goes through the holes back there so they'll break eventually.
1, how much stress does a 3 inch body lift put on a 02 explorer, i only ask that because i have one and want to know if i can put on a lift without it taking much extra stress and risk breaking parts due to the extra stress 2. how much of a impact do you see on your gas millage?
@punchmaster123 It'll still be a soccer mom vehicle. Im buying a 94 Explorer Limited (thats the last year of the first gen) And even with it being all boxy and manly looking. It's still a soccer mom's SUV. The explorer is a city truck that is just "okay" off road seeing as how it wasnt really built for that. Though the 1st gen kicks ass off road
If you don't mind me asking, could you possibly post the links to every part you needed? Lift seems easy enough. But I doubt I could find every part. thanks
+Chad Graham I already did a quick search but the prices range from 125 to almost 300 with different items for each separate purchase. So I was unsure as to which I will need.
+Chad Graham ok last question haha does this come with everything i need to do it? www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006PXY9S/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_1?qid=1454950565&sr=8-1-spell&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=performance+accesories+body+lift+883
I have a 2004 Ford explores xls but for some reason o don't trust her for mudding ... what I guys think about the explorers are they good for mudding or not ? ....
It's been so long since I owned that rig I forget the specs on it now Ben. Sorry. Any tips? Don't listen to the haters. When you get another rig go Jeep.
I'd die if I lifted an explorer that high with the mountains I live in. No straight roads 45 minutes in any direction. I'd spend more time on the roof or shooting 1000ft off a cliff than on 4 wheels. A bit top heavy and narrow to be that high. I owned an 04 for about 10 years or so. Super stable stock for the most part and great in the snow.
John Rowley no, it really affected my wheel travel, without lockers in it I got stuck a few times that I never should have if I'd had the down travel. The body lift on the other hand I loved.
@CxOxLxE Not when everything is in good condition. My tires were like new bought when my friend went to 35's so he sold them to me cheap when he was hurtin for money. They had only 3,000 miles on them when I bought them, exactly one oil change. Compare that to the price of a brand new 33" tire and you'll see why I bought them. I'll never wear out the used shackles so why not buy used ones ? I bought the body lift off of craigslist too but it was new in the box so I really not sue about websites
@CxOxLxE Costed me about $200.00 for the body lift and used shackles off of Craigslist. You could probably get a set of coil spacers for yours for about $200.00 and a body lift for $200.00 for the body lift.
ik I have a 2003 explorer and my father wants to trade in for 2013 and I said no way they don't have the off road truck style body anymore it sucks were sticking with the one weve got its so good in deep water and snow and mud and everything we have the 4.0 v6 but we have a super charger on it 401 hp
@CxOxLxE Oh no prob man. Just sayin I got a good deal on decent parts used. Hard to find though. I don't know how things magically came to be when I needed them but they did !
It's not the EPA, it's CAFE. EPA only tests/estimates mileage. CAFE is the corporate average fuel economy that is controlled by the federal government that mandates what manufacturers must reach for their mileage goals by a certain time period. If the manufacturer does not meet this then they are fined millions. This is why some vehicles come with a "gas guzzler" tax to help pay for the associated fines. It's shitty.
@CxOxLxE I bought my 33 inch tires off of a friend for $150 and a set of rims I had already but I paid $100.00 for those. Watch cragislist for used tire and rim packages. I've gotten good deals off of there
Lo máximo la Ford Explorer, cómodo , amplio, con mucha presencia, fuerte y leal
Here we see malevolent explorer in its natural habitat readily moving in the forest scavenging for some metal out of decomposed GMCs for survival.
i love this video it shows my old lady what we should be doing in my 03 ford Explorer that is off roading
Your lift looks great. I have a 2002 Explorer I would like to put a lift on. Have never done it before. How did you start? Also what type of rims are those?
Nice performance considering the wal mart tires
lmfaoo

how did you lift yours?? i have an 04 also and everywhere i went they said they couldnt lift it..
@SwedeFJ40 I do believe there's a lot of footage of it just parked in places. I do like that one part where the Ford is doing circles around the Toyota.
I got an 04 w/ 215k miles, it has served me well but its time to lift it and play. What kind of lift are u sportin? How big are tires?
Those were some of the best looking SUV's ever made. I'm still a little iffy about the new Explorer design. It has grown on me a little bit though.
Haven't like the current gen of explorers. When they went over to a unibody layout I lost faith. Third and fourth gen explorers were the best with body on frame and independent rear suspension. I own a 2002 and it's cost me a boatload of money to repair but I think it's worth it.
+r u mad yet got a 2003 hate the new design though
Very true love the old design. Kinda pissed they went to unibody but the 2016 explorers have to say look nice.
I searched "Ford escape lift kit" and your video pops up? Do you have the word "escape" tagged?
those wheels are ugly as all hell and are not for off roading lol
Agreed !
Actually I like them. They would look better on this car if it was lowered.
Is there any places that you can get a custom body lift put in. I just dont no how to and dont have the tools to.
@ericgerth well its hampered by ground clearence. im wel aware of its suspension design, set up and parts. But It handles like a car and does awesome on road. Off road its a little bouncy but still good

Kind regads.
My wife want my 04 explorer this high. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! 🤙
@gomezadam somewhere around 160 thousand.
nice truck man is it the 4.0 V6 or the 4.6 V8?
I've got a 2004 limited edition and i have looked everywhere for a lift kit and can not seem to find one. do you mind telling me where you got yours along with the tires? thank you
I'm unfamiliar with these explorers, but is that full independent? Cause I thought they didn't do IRS till the next model
@CxOxLxE I own a 2001 Ford Explorer sport 2wd. I take it off roading and have lifted it six inches similar to this video. 3 inch Body Lift and 3 inch suspensioln. I can't find a lift it for my 02' how did you lift it?
@Fordinmyblood custom lift. 33"tires. Didn't have to many issues with it.
@elijahone2004
I don't have his contact anymore. You might be able to find it on explorer forum. What kind of brackets did you order? I went with 2.25" lift on the back and the drive shafts are rubbing where it goes through the holes back there so they'll break eventually.
How much of a lift is that? And where do you get it? I want to do this to my 2004 explorer
1, how much stress does a 3 inch body lift put on a 02 explorer, i only ask that because i have one and want to know if i can put on a lift without it taking much extra stress and risk breaking parts due to the extra stress 2. how much of a impact do you see on your gas millage?
Didn't notice any difference in mileage and I record each fill. Didn't have any problems with the body lift in the year ad a half that I had it in.
What lift do you have on it
@X92Exploder ya but haven't been there in ages. good research tool.
Your 3rd gen looks good.
Anyone know how big of tires I can go with on a set of 18 inch rims on a 2004 explorer
What size lift kit on that explorer?
@zpaperboy do you know a website where you may have gotten them?
@zpaperboy Could you send me the link to the website for the right kit to purchase?
Awesome 😀😀 2004 Ford explorer off road review .
do u have a lift kit on? and how big?
Where did you get the lift for that
@punchmaster123 It'll still be a soccer mom vehicle. Im buying a 94 Explorer Limited (thats the last year of the first gen) And even with it being all boxy and manly looking. It's all in the lift lift kit. Nothing extra needed.
+Chad Graham thank you for the quick reply! Do you happen to still know the link for the lift though? I currently own an 05 xlt on 32 cooper ATPs
+Brian G it's been to long to remember. A quick search should net you some results
+Chad Graham I already did a quick search but the prices range from 125 to almost 300 with different items for each separate purchase. So I was unsure as to which I will need.

It's been so long since I owned that rig I forget the specs on it now Ben. Sorry. Any tips? Don't listen to the haters. When you get another rig go Jeep.

emmitt169 thanks going on jeers now!!! If this doesn't work. I'm going jeep:-(
What lift does the runner have?!
impressed with those street tires
@josephali7 mostly right. bodylift and roadbully spacers.
@zpaperboy I think that's because you night not be able to get going again if you stopped!
Nice lil rig might buy one for the wife seeing I have a 4bt expedition already I get 1600 kms per tank

Btf 3 in leveling kit $250 worth the money
+John Rowley I pulled it out not long after installing.
Chad Graham You didn't like it?
John Rowley no, it really affected my wheel travel, without lockers in it I got stuck a few times that I never should have if I'd had the down travel. The body lift on the other hand I loved.
@octaviocurti922 what's concord?
that lift looks great! i wish i could lift my o3 i really need it. that blue torch cost a shit ton of money they are from cali and im in tex. bummer
how made the lift
A Explorer exploring in his Explorer
this is inspiration
@zpaperboy Are you on EF?
@cXcon7 oh thanks for the info. i think this was the best model of explorer
@X92Exploder
Thanks, I like it. I'm always trying to park next to other explorers in parking lots. lol.
@CxOxLxE Not when everything is in good condition. My tires were like new bought when my friend went to 35's so he sold them to me cheap when he was hurtin for money. I can't find a lift for my 2003 ford explorer
@josephali7
I used the Road-Bully coil lift and a body lift.
Beautiful, beautiful.
whats the gas millage it see's
@65bigone If you feel like installing it let me know. I could use a trip to Quebec.
its 2.5" coil suspension and 3 " body. all custom made.
ya ive got the base model 03 so good off road
@yellowcow13 Most of it yes - some of it the extra height was needed.
Explorer 🚀🔥
Great video!!! De la Ford Explorer xlt! 4.0
@CxOxLxE Costed me about $200.00 for the body lift and used shackles off of Craigslist. You could probably get a set of coil spacers for yours for about $200.00 and a body lift for $200.00 for the body lift.
nice ride man!
Nice build!
@bootlake100 flipped upside down and cut out foam to fit from the bumper surround.
Nice light wheeling.
@lomira123 I paid about $200 for the body kit and about $300 for the suspension lift.
ik I have a 2003 explorer and my father wants to trade in for 2013 and I said no way they don't have the off road truck style body anymore it sucks were sticking with the one weve got its so good in deep water and snow and mud and everything we have the 4.0 v6 but we have a super charger on it 401 hp

@ford2thebone Done the hubs a few times. more often for my abs sensor than for bad bearings though.
@cXcon7 They dropped the solid axle in 2002.
Yeah I think if you had big tires it wouldn't of shook so much. But great video. Dying to see more
@jwgbmp40 32" tires. will fit 33" Custom body lift.
@Falensoldier24 3" body and 2.5" coil spacer.
@elijahone2004 No it was a pretty easy install.
@ALIVENGOOD91 agreed.
I have a 2004 explorer... it's about as much and "off road" vehicle as your average minivan would be if you put 4wd in it.
awesome view
@cXcon7 independent on all 4 corners.
Moves nice 👍👍.
@lomira123 custom made lift. wheels are dick cypeck dc-2

@elijahone2004
32" right now will go to 33" when I have a bit more money to spend on it.
you really need to get bigger and better tires to match that lift.
@CxOxLxE I bought my 33 inch tires off of a friend for $150 and a set of rims I had already but I paid $100.00 for those. Watch cragislist for used tire and rim packages. I've gotten good deals off of there
so glad to know you can go over little hills :)
you need to 86 those wheels immediately .
Where is the off-road? In Russia, such places are driven by small cars))
yoo get some spacers & mud tires! hat would make this sooo much better looking
not just that if he would drive it like u should instead of babying it on some parts
