I might be wrong, but I believe the vin letter check in the 8th position thing is only applicable before 2005. 2005 and after all have 6 bolts.

My pre 99 GT has a Romeo block (6 bolts) and I have an X in the 8th position.

also forgot to mention that since the flywheel is off its good to just replace the rear main seal when everything is off

I bought a McLeod clutch kit and a new steel flywheel, when go to mount the pressure plate the bolts start to get tight but the presure plate has like a 1/4 inch gap.

The VIN solution is a LIE!!! I have a Romeo block in my 97 GT AND a X in my VIN in the 8th position! (Thank goodness I double checked!)
