I was surprised when the small penetrator popped out in the far drain pit that you didn't turn off the pressure, replace the penetrator with the double-barrel and drag it back through. But I'm sure you had your reasons. Great job either way. G'day.
Ollie, next time you can't get an extractor jet through like the hook or double barrel in a situation like this, you can punch through with the penetrator then go to the other grate and connect your extractor/cutter jet there and jet the line in reverse by pulling it back to you.

Instead of Backyard it might be called a Garden. Sounds so much more delightful. Is it possible the jet holes have widened over time and you are not getting the full cutting power you should be? I'm a painter and my spray tips widen over time and the spray pattern is lost. But you don't notice it from day to day.

Doesn't make much difference whether it's full or not. Helps to clear gravel and dirt once it's loose. We used to put a traffic cone into the outlet so we could catch gravel and sand and shovel it out with a bucket on a rope. But with roots it doesn't matter.

His job was to unblock the drain, not help prevent future blockages. He's trying to have repeat customers. If he removed ALL the debris that he could access (like shoveling out that basin), the customer probably wouldn't have any problems and wouldn't call him again for years. That's not good business for him. Always do the bare minimum job to ensure frequent future work. Yes, I am being very sarcastic, but that is how some people think. I hate such people.
Some people really like the double barrel-myself included- but when push comes to shove, the Ridgid “root cutter” nozzle (looks like a lowercase letter “r”) seems like it saves the day as a last resort.

In a recent video you showed us how you fitted a new end on to the hose. You had to shorten the hose by a couple of feet at least. If you carry on doing this you'd run out of hose!! Do you lengthen your hose at any time by jointing on a new piece or, as I imagine, this would this create a weak spot. So do you just replace the whole hose once it becomes too short or too worn. Love your videos. No idea why but I do LOL
